The Revenge of the Reborn Supreme Sovereign
Chapter 457 - 447: Pei An’s Prayer!
GULP! GULP! GULP!
Watching Qin Fan walk toward him with a smile, Hua Xiaotian couldn’t stop the nervous swallowing in his throat.
At this moment, his heart was trembling! His soul was panicking! Faced with such a freak of nature who could claim the lives of thousands of Japanese with a mere gesture, a tide of fear surged wildly from within him! Even though he knew Qin Fan was an ally, he couldn’t resist the panic that shook his soul to its core! He had considered that he might have underestimated Qin Fan, but he never expected that each underestimation would be more severe than the last! From the scene Qin Fan had just orchestrated, Hua Xiaotian felt he was not facing a human! Absolutely not a human! No human force could create such world-destroying power! This was Divine Power! Only Divine Power could wield such a world-ending move!
In a daze, Hua Xiaotian’s entire brain seemed to halt. His bright eyes turned blank, and all he could see was Qin Fan’s harmless, smiling face.
Divine Power? This counts as Divine Power? I’m only just now at the initial Golden Core stage. If this had been my past life in the Cangqiong Continent at the Great Success Cultivation realm, a single stomp would have plunged all of Tokyo into a city-wide earthquake. Now, that would be real Divine Power!
"Have you rested enough? If so, let’s continue. No more wasting time," Qin Fan said, shaking his head with a light chuckle as he looked at Hua Xiaotian.
"Rested... rested enough!" Completely losing his composure, Hua Xiaotian stammered out a subconscious reply.
He suddenly recalled what Qin Fan had said before. Perhaps with such a heaven-defying person at his side, leaving Japan alive was truly possible!
At this thought, his spirits lifted again. The daze and trembling from a moment ago vanished, replaced by a surge of impassioned excitement.
"Then let’s go. Barring any surprises, the real fight will be in the Worship Room," Qin Fan said, letting out a breath as he sensed the formidable auras within.
The real fight? Even if Qin Fan hadn’t mentioned it, Hua Xiaotian knew there had to be formidable opposition inside the Worship Room. Otherwise, considering the heinous crimes the Japanese had committed across East Asia over the years, how could the Jingguo Society still exist? It would have been wiped out countless times by the mysterious forces of other East Asian countries long ago.
"Yes, Master Qin!" Hua Xiaotian gritted his teeth, the bones in his body letting out a series of sharp cracks as they tensed. He then followed Qin Fan’s leisurely, strolling pace deeper into the Jingguo Society.
「At the same time.」
Everything that had happened within the Jingguo Society was being reported back to the Japanese authorities. The news that the Yamamoto Group had been slaughtered, with not a single survivor left, also broke. Information about Yamamoto Ichiro’s eight children dying from mysteriously exploding heads was relayed at lightning speed to the emergency meeting convened by the Japanese authorities at the Headquarters.
"Gentlemen, a crisis is upon us!" A sleazy-looking man, less than 1.7 meters tall, trembled as he clenched his fists, seated at the head of the conference table.
"Mr. Pei An, this is a Huaxia conspiracy! They want revenge for the invasion decades ago!" At the side of the table, a middle-aged man slammed his fist on the table, gnashing his teeth in fury.
"Mr. Koizumi, our focus right now shouldn’t be on whether it’s a conspiracy or not! It’s on how to deal with the insane actions of those two bastards! We don’t have much time left; we must devise a countermeasure as quickly as possible! Over a thousand armed military police have already been wiped out. This shows we are facing a true crisis!" Pei An said solemnly.
He glanced around the table before continuing, "My proposal is to deploy the armored troops. We should also prepare cruise missiles as a final measure. If the Jingguo Society truly cannot be held, then those two damned bastards will be buried in its soil forever! Let their souls face the judgment of the spirits of Great Japan’s military!"
"Agreed!" As soon as Pei An finished, a middle-aged man immediately raised his hand in a hasty vote.
"Agreed!"
"Agreed!"
"Agreed!"
At such a moment of national crisis, no one opposed Pei An. They all knew that they had no other choice. Yes, it was true that Japan had Onmyoji and Divine Ninjas lurking in the shadows, but could their current administration possibly command them? In this perilous situation, their top priority was to formulate a response by their own means in the shortest time possible. This desperate measure had become their only option.
CREAK!
Just as the votes were cast, the door to the conference room was suddenly pushed open.
SWOOSH!
The entire administration, led by Pei An, whipped their heads around to look. A man wearing a hooded black cloak walked in, his head bowed.
"Baka! Who are you? How did you get in here?" one of the high-ranking officials shouted, slamming his hands on the table as he shot to his feet, glaring at the newcomer.
The man paused mid-step. He slowly lifted his head to meet the official’s gaze.
That one look was all it took. The official began to tremble uncontrollably, his face contorting with horrified panic.
Facing the man’s sharp, vacant eyes, he felt as if his entire body had been pierced through! This—! Baka! Who on earth is this person!
Amidst this sudden rush of thoughts, cold sweat poured furiously down his forehead.
"You don’t need to know who I am, nor how I got in here! Stop your pointless, suicidal plans! Before that person, your armored units are trash, as flimsy as tofu! From now on, we Onmyoji will take over. You useless fools had better stay out of our way and not interfere with our actions!" the man said arrogantly, shaking his head with disdain as he scanned the officials at the table.
Even though everyone seated here was a decision-maker for modern Japan, to the Onmyoji, they were all worthless fools.
"You’re an Onmyoji?" Pei An and the others exclaimed, their eyes wide with shock.
The man gave a disdainful chuckle and shook his head, offering no further answer. He flicked his cloak, turned, and slowly walked out.
As they watched the cloaked man depart, Pei An and the others stood dumbstruck, swallowing hard.
"Mr. Pei An, our plan...?" one of the officials finally asked, his voice trembling in the stunned silence.
Before he could finish, Pei An cut him off with a raised hand. "Halt the plan."
"But Mr. Pei An, what if he’s not an Onmyoji? The consequences would be unthinkable!" the official protested.
"But what if he is? That’s a risk we cannot take!" Pei An retorted, his jaw set with determination. "His ability to enter our conference room proves he is no ordinary man. If he were an enemy, would we still be sitting here alive?"
"Yes, Mr. Pei An!" the officials chorused, bowing deeply in response to his sound reasoning.
Pei An let out a long, heavy sigh and turned to the floor-to-ceiling windows. Gazing at the bustling panorama of Tokyo outside, the gloom on his face intensified.
Once the news from the Jingguo Society gets out, it will be a nightmare for every person in Tokyo. That is when the real pressure on our administration will truly begin!
Clenching his hands together before his chest, Pei An watched the vibrant city and muttered anxiously, almost like a prayer, "Those two from Huaxia must be eliminated. They must be."
