Chapter 424: With Selena (2)

Currently, Amon and Selena sat at a table in a restaurant.

The restaurant was huge and expensive. They were seated beside a glass wall.

They had already had their afternoon lunch, but they still remained seated there. The reason was simple.

Amon was telling her about his experiences, about everything he had gone through when he was lost on the island.

How he survived. How he met the villagers. He told her the same things that he had told Elizabeth.

Selena listened to everything with a focused expression. Not even once did she look bored or distracted. She listened to every detail.

"And that’s how we got away from that island."

He ended his story.

Selena simply stared at him for a while. She didn’t say anything.

Her mouth opened and closed.

Then she exhaled heavily.

Her red eyes looked at Amon with more worry now.

For some reason, Amon felt like she was looking at a child who didn’t deserve to go through all that hardship.

"I had no idea. You had gone through all of this," she said softly.

She extended her hand toward Amon’s, which rested on the table, and gently covered it.

Amon felt warmth from her touch. Knwoing that she was worried about him all this time made him happy.

At one point he had thought that there might be no one who might be worried about him.

But after meeting her he understood that it was not true. Selena was worried about him.

’That means Seraphina, Eliana, Marcus and Professor Adelia. They must be really worried about me.’ He thought with small happiness in his heart.

"I am truly happy that you are safe."

Amon didn’t pull his hand away. He smiled at her softly.

"Once again, thanks for worrying about me."

Selena released his hand and pulled it back. She tucked a few strands of her silver hair behind her ear.

"What you told me... it’s really interesting. I think... you should tell this to Mother as well tonight."

Amon’s eyes widened slightly. "Wait? You mean the Empress? I... I already told this to Lady Elizabeth. Then to you... now you’re asking me to tell everything once again to your mother? No way... I don’t want to," he said while shaking his head. Talking about it even twice had already made him mentally tired.

Selena rested her chin on her palm, her elbow placed on the table, and looked at him thoughtfully. "Hmm... I guess I’ll tell her myself. After all, I heard everything in detail."

Amon let out a relieved breath. "Thank you, Senior. You are the best."

"But..." she added calmly, "if my mother asks you personally, then I can’t do anything. Nor can you refuse her."

Amon stiffened. His eyes twitched. "Dammit!!"

Selena chuckled at his reaction.

"But I have to say... it’s really unexpected that you made that vampire woman fall for you. If being a vampire wasn’t enough, she’s older than you by many years."

Amon lifted his chin proudly. "Love doesn’t see age, my dear Senior. We love each other beyond those things."

"Hehe~ sure," she said with a teasing smile. "And here I thought you had something with Seraphina."

Amon was taken aback by her words.

Then he remembered the moments he had spent with Seraphina, the loud thump of his heart when he held her arm while walking along the road of Lunaris City.

’Sera....how’s she?...’

Then his thoughts shifted to Adelia. He had felt something similar toward her.

’And my gentle professor Adelia...Dammit. tonight, before sleeping I will contact them.’ Amon decided.

He fell completely silent for a while, thinking about his feelings and his friends.

Seeing him not respond, Selena called out with a slight frown, "Amon? You okay? Amon!"

"Ah? Yes, I’m okay," he said quickly, nodding as he snapped out of his thoughts.

He folded his arms. His expression turned serious– no, more like that of a mature and thoughtful person.

"It’s not like Seraphina and I don’t have anything. We are really close friends. But she is a noble. How could you think that I would pursue her?"

Selena raised a brow slightly. "But you did pursue another noble woman and made her your lover."

Amon sighed lightly. "Well, that’s true. But that was unexpected. And we were away from society, in a village where everyone was equal. So status really didn’t matter. But here... it does."

Selena leaned back slightly, crossing her arms. "Really? You think that? You see, I’m part of the new generation. To be honest, for someone like me, blood and status don’t matter much. Of course, I mean when it comes to being close to someone or being friends. But the old nobles still see commoners as lowly. Though that will change with time."

Amon tilted his head slightly. "So does that mean... if I had flirted with you... tried to pursue you as my love... you would have accepted me?"

Selena paused mid-sentence as his words registered.

A faint blush spread across her cheeks.

"I... I..." she stammered, clearly flustered.

Then she quickly turned her face away. "Let’s talk about something else."

Amon saw her face. "Cute. You are looking cute Senior. Blushing like that."

"Shut up!!"

---

It was late afternoon, nearing evening.

Telling Selena the whole story of his past few months had taken hours.

Now they were heading toward a particular place.

Amon wanted to go somewhere. He asked if there was such place in the city or not.

He had told her about it earlier.

And now she was taking him there. She led him to a quiet corner of the city. They walked side by side while talking. The area had fewer people, and the surroundings were clean and calm.

Finally, after some walking, she stopped in front of a particular building. It was made of dark gray stone.

"Here. This place will be helpful to you," she said.

"Oh, thanks, Senior," Amon replied.

She entered first, and Amon followed behind her.

The interior was spacious. Various weapons hung on the walls, clean and polished, beautifully crafted.

There was a wooden counter in one corner.

Selena walked toward it and then called out in a clear voice, "Daren!! It’s me, Selena Aurellian!!"

At her voice, the sound of footsteps came from inside the shop. A door that was near at the end of counter’s wall, it slid open with a creaking noise.
