"What...?"

Everything was swallowed by an absolute, suffocating darkness.

There was no sky... or anything at all.

Aestrea’s body tensed instantly, every muscle locking up as his divine senses screamed in alarm. He tried to summon his power, but the darkness drank it in like a starving beast.

His chaos energy flickered weakly before being smothered.

Then...

A low, distorted chuckle echoed from every direction at once.

It was layered with thousands of overlapping voices, some containing a mocking tone, some even sounding melodic, and others screaming in agony.

"Hehehehe... How adorable."

The voice slithered into his ears like worms.

From the darkness, a figure slowly took shape.

Nyarlathotep.

Not in any fixed form, but a towering, ever-shifting mass of writhing shadows and too many eyes. Countless golden irises opened across his body, blinking at different times.

Tentacles of darkness coiled lazily around his silhouette as he looked down at Aestrea like a child examining an interesting insect.

"You’ve been far too careless, little chaos god," Nyarlathotep spoke, his voice dripping with mocking amusement.

"Did you truly believe I wouldn’t notice? That your new little slave, that hybrid bitch Seraphiel, could actually detect me if I didn’t wish to be found?"

Nyarlathotep took one step closer, causing the world to twirl a little.

"You let yourself drown in that sweet little fantasy. All those tears of joy. All those heartfelt confessions. All those warm embraces and loving kisses..." He let out a low, wet laugh.

"Did it feel real? Did their love make that cold, broken heart of yours flutter? Did you really think they chose you out of their own free will?"

Aestrea remained silent at his words.

Nyarlathotep’s form rippled with amusement.

"Oh, I made it very convincing, didn’t I? I took pieces of your memories, your deepest desires, your hidden longings... and I wove them into the perfect dream. Every smile was tailored. Every ’I love you’ was exactly what you wanted to hear. Even their jealousy, their playfulness, their devotion... all of it was designed to feel real."

He spread his arms wide.

The void around them shifted, briefly flashing images of the date, Christina’s happy tears, Vivian’s emotional smile, Mia’s wild laughter, and Maria’s gentle blush before dissolving back into nothingness.

"Pathetic, isn’t it?" Nyarlathotep mocked.

"The great Root of Chaos, the one who wields primordial power... reduced to seeking comfort in a dollhouse I built for him."

Aestrea’s voice finally cut through the darkness.

"Get to the point."

Nyarlathotep’s countless eyes narrowed in delight.

"The point is simple," he said, leaning closer until his shifting face was mere inches from Aestrea’s.

"Stop wasting time on these delusions. Seraphiel will never be able to detect me unless I allow it. None of them will. They are puppets dancing on strings I control. The longer you play pretend, the more time I have to move my pieces."

The Crawling Chaos’s voice dropped into a sinister whisper. 𝚏𝕣𝐞𝗲𝐰𝕖𝐛𝐧𝕠𝕧𝚎𝚕.𝐜𝚘𝗺

"And I have been moving many pieces, Aestrea. While you were busy playing husband and father in your little fantasy... I’ve been very busy."

The Crawling Chaos’s voice dropped into a sinister whisper.

"And I have been moving many pieces, Aestrea. While you were busy playing husband and father in your little fantasy... I’ve been very busy."

Aestrea stared into the endless void for a moment...

Then, slowly, the corners of his lips curled upward into a light, almost amused smile.

"Oh... really?"

He took one single step forward.

CRACK.

The entire world shattered like glass.

The suffocating darkness exploded outward as reality itself fractured. In an instant, the void was replaced by a majestic, frozen kingdom of ice.

Towering spires of crystalline ice rose into the sky, glowing with primordial chaos energy. Snow fell gently, and an aurora of shifting colors danced overhead.

This was the Eternal Frost Citadel... the palace Aestrea had personally created long ago to guard the frontiers between the lower realm and the divine realm.

Nyarlathotep’s form flickered, momentarily destabilized by the sudden domain shift.

Aestrea stood at the center of the frozen throne room, his white hair swaying in the cold wind. His red eyes glowed dangerously.

"Honestly..." he tilted his head slighly.

"I didn’t expect you to be this dumb."

He let out a light, mocking laugh.

"...And thanks to that little stunt of yours, I actually found the location of your true body."

The Crawling Chaos froze.

Then, suddenly, Nyarlathotep threw his head back and laughed loudly, her multi-layered voice making a sound that shook the whole ice palace.

"HAHAHAHAHA!"

"Oh? You think you’ve found me?" Nyarlathotep’s countless eyes gleamed with cruel delight.

"How cute. How adorable. Go ahead then, little god. Try to reach me. But remember, I hold the lives of everyone you love in the palm of my hand."

His form swelled, becoming more monstrous as hundreds of eyes opened across his body.

"I can kill them all with a single thought. Your precious wives, your daughter, your little students... every single one of them. Their lives are mine to end whenever I wish. So tell me, Aestrea... do you really think you have the upper hand here?"

Aestrea stared at him silently for a moment.

Then he raised his right hand...

Snap!

Dozens of glowing figures materialized in the air around them, lifelike images of everyone Aestrea cared about.

Christina. Lumi. Zeva. Yara... Tyrian, Kael... every single one of his friends and lovers.

All of them stood there.

Nyarlathotep frowned, his shifting form twitching with irritation.

Then his countless eyes narrowed.

Every single one of the figures had a strange, glowing mark on the lower back, just above the waist.

A complex, intricate sigil pulsing with pure primordial chaos energy. A mark that radiated Aestrea’s own authority.

"You see..." Aestrea said calmly, his voice carrying through the frozen hall.

"I blessed every single one of them long ago. A fragment of my true chaos core. Even if you can copy their memories, their personalities, their authorities... you cannot copy my blessing."

He snapped his finger once again, and another person appeared.

That person... was none other than Vivian.

"And she... was the one that didn’t have a mark on her."

Nyarlathotep’s form rippled violently. For the first time, genuine anger and surprise flashed across his ever-changing face.

Then, Aestrea added calmly.

"I won the game. So stop hiding like a coward. Show me your true form, Nyarlathotep."

The Crawling Chaos remained silent.

His shifting, grotesque silhouette twitched and spasmed unnaturally.

Countless eyes opened and closed rapidly across his body in clear agitation. The darkness around him rippled violently, as if struggling to maintain its current shape.

Finally, a low, distorted voice echoed through the ice palace.

"...I didn’t expect to make such a dumb mistake."

The words were laced with genuine irritation.

Nyarlathotep’s form twisted and convulsed, eyes blinking out of sync. Then, a grotesque chuckle bubbled up from deep within him.

"But a game... is a game, right?"

The void around them trembled.

Then, his body began to change.

The humanoid silhouette melted away like wax under flame. What emerged was something far worse and grotesque... something that should not exist in any sane reality.

Hundreds of slick, oily tentacles erupted outward, each one lined with blinking mouths and eyes that screamed in silent agony.

A colossal, pulsating mass of flesh and shadow rose, constantly mutating. New limbs, faces, and organs bloomed and withered in seconds.

At the center of this nightmare was a gaping maw filled with rotating teeth and a single, enormous golden eye that stared directly into Aestrea’s soul.

This was Nyarlathotep’s true form.

CRAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK!

The ice palace around them began to crack and distort as reality struggled to contain his presence. Fractures spread across the frozen walls as the laws of existence rebelled.

Nyarlathotep’s colossal eye narrowed, countless smaller ones across his tentacles focusing on Aestrea.

"You’ve grown bolder," the entity spoke, its voice now a horrifying group of millions of screaming, laughing, and weeping voices.

"To force me to reveal this... you’ve improved."

To his words, Aestrea simply stood up.

The temperature in the Eternal Frost Citadel dropped even further. The aurora overhead flickered violently as if reality itself was holding its breath.

Aestrea’s expression was calm, almost indifferent, but his eyes burned with killing intent and a chilling coldness.

"You talk too much."

Black energy erupted from his body like living smoke.

WHOOOOSH!!!

His pristine white hair ignited from the roots, the color bleeding away into an abyssal black that swallowed all light.

The length surged dramatically, growing past his shoulders in wild, flowing strands that moved as if alive.

His eyes snapped into their true form, which were his draconic vertical slits.

The sclera turned pitch black, endless voids that devoured light, while the slits themselves glowed a vicious, blood-red crimson.

A dense, mysterious black energy brimmed violently from every inch of his body.

It coiled around him like a serpent, warping the space around him.

Cracks spread across the frozen ground beneath his feet as the very concept of "existence" struggled to contain him.

"Ah..."

Nyarlathotep’s colossal golden eye narrowed, hundreds of smaller eyes across his tentacles twitching in clear unease.

"So this is your true form?" he let out a deafening, reality-shaking laugh that caused entire spires of ice to shatter.

"Very well, little chaos god."

Aestrea rolled his shoulders slowly.

The black energy around him surged, forming faint, mysterious patterns in the air, ancient runes that hadn’t been seen since the birth of creation.

"Shut your fucking mouth already."

Black energy exploded outward in a silent shockwave. The temperature plummeted so sharply that even Nyarlathotep’s writhing tentacles momentarily froze mid-motion.

Aestrea’s blood-red slit eyes glowed brighter as he stared directly into the colossal golden eye of the Outer God.

"Come then, Nyarlathotep."

Aestrea’s lips curved into a cold, predatory smile... the same smile he had worn when he had dismantled Seraphiel’s domain.
