The Super Bodyguard of the Beautiful CEO
Chapter 1216 - 1231: Lin Mu Pays a Visit
"What’s wrong?" Sophie asked.
"There was an explosion at the Flying Dragon Foot Bath Pavilion just now, two security guards were seriously injured," Lin Mu said.
"An explosion happened there too?" Sophie was clearly surprised.
"Yes, the surveillance equipment was tampered with, it seems it was well-prepared," Lin Mu explained.
Sophie pondered for a while and said, "I think there must be something wrong."
"What’s the problem?" Lin Mu asked, knowing women’s intuition is often strong, perhaps Sophie could provide some insight.
"The explosion at Yunhai Mansion can be explained, since it happened in the parking lot, but how could someone plant a bomb inside your Foot Bath Pavilion without the security knowing?" Sophie said.
"You mean this was done by someone familiar?" Lin Mu understood Sophie’s implication.
"I’m just guessing; anyway, why don’t you come over to me for a bit," Sophie suggested.
"Alright, I’ll be right there," Lin Mu replied.
Lin Mu made some arrangements and then drove towards Yunhai Mansion.
Sophie had already reported to the police, and when Lin Mu arrived, several officers were examining the scene. Qi Manlin and Sophie were also there – after all, with an explosion case, Qi Manlin, the bureau chief, needed to be present in person.
"What’s the situation?" Lin Mu walked up and asked.
"Bomb planted under the car, detonating the engine caused the explosion," Qi Manlin explained.
"Feifei, whose cars are these?" Lin Mu asked.
"They belong to two company employees," Sophie replied.
Lin Mu furrowed his brows, puzzled. If it had been Sophie’s car, it would be understandable – planting a bomb under Sophie’s car surely targeted her, but planting a bomb under employees’ car seemed strange. 𝑓𝘳𝑒𝑒𝓌𝘦𝘣𝘯ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝑚
The series of events raised many questions for Lin Mu.
But Lin Mu was certain the explosions at the Foot Bath Pavilion and this one at Yunhai Mansion had the same perpetrator. He just didn’t understand the other’s motive.
The Foot Bath Pavilion explosion might be explained as an attempt to undermine Lin Mu’s business there, scaring customers away. However, the Yunhai Mansion explosion puzzled him.
Even if all the cars in the parking lot were blown up, Su’s Great Enterprise wouldn’t be impacted much. They had the capacity to compensate each employee a car, which wouldn’t count as a significant loss for Su’s Company.
"Feifei, what do you think of this situation?" Lin Mu asked Sophie.
"I have another guess, but I’m not sure," Sophie pondered briefly before speaking.
"What guess?"
"Yesterday you offended Tang Wu, and he sought my help. But I didn’t give North China Tang Sect any face, so this might be a minor revenge from them," Sophie explained.
"Damn, aren’t they supposed to be a major power? Using such petty methods?" Lin Mu remarked.
"That’s exactly what makes me unsure. Tang Sect is a large family power, and even if they wanted revenge, using such means seems unlikely. However, they might have no other way since this is Wancheng, not North China," Sophie explained.
Lin Mu listened to Sophie’s words and found some truth in them.
"Regardless, it needs to be confirmed. Being targeted like this makes sleeping difficult," Lin Mu acknowledged and asked, "Do you know where Tang Wu is now?"
"Yes, are you planning to find him?" Sophie asked.
"I must clear this up. If it’s him, I won’t let him leave Wancheng easily," Lin Mu said with a mischievous smile, thinking how Tang Wu wants to figuratively sit on his neck and give him trouble, but not on his turf, even if Tang Wu is one of North China’s Tang Sect’s major figures.
Sophie then provided the address where Tang Wu was staying. Fang Zhongxin was a friend of Tang Wu, and they had a good relationship, so Tang Wu was staying at Fang Zhongxin’s house in Wancheng. Lin Mu drove to Fang’s place according to the address Sophie gave him.
At that moment, Fang Zhongxin and Tang Wu were sitting on the living room sofa, smoking gloomily. Despite Fang Zhongxin’s face being battered, he felt a lingering frustration that compelled him to take a few drags to vent.
"Brother Wu, Lin Mu is really something else! Even if I don’t carry much weight, you made your identity clear. You hold the top position in North China, yet he shows no respect," Fang Zhongxin said, exhaling smoke and expressing his frustration.
If anyone was frustrated, Tang Wu was even more so than Fang Zhongxin, "He’s not just disrespecting me, he’s insulting our Tang Sect! A fledgling group like the Flying Dragon Gang dares to oppose us, the North China leaders of Tang Sect."
"Brother Wu, how do you plan to deal with Lin Mu?" Fang Zhongxin himself had no hope of dealing with Lin Mu, his sole hope was Tang Wu, so he tried to incite Tang Wu to act against Lin Mu, further said, "Brother Wu, you must reclaim some face. Lin Mu needs to be dealt with."
Tang Wu touched his cheek, where the slap left a lingering pain. This humiliation wasn’t just on him but on the Tang family – if Tang Wu didn’t understand, that would be bizarre indeed.
"This humiliation must be avenged, but not right now. In Wancheng, even we at Tang Sect have no way to deal with him. I need to discuss this with my dad; he’s already aware of the situation," Tang Wu explained.
"When do you plan to leave?" Fang Zhongxin asked.
"I’ll leave tonight," Tang Wu said.
Suddenly, a loud noise erupted outside. Upon checking, they found the door had been kicked open. Seeing Lin Mu, both Fang Zhongxin and Tang Wu were both enraged and terrified. How unexpected it was, given that Lin Mu had already given them a beating recently – why would he come to trouble them again?
"Where are you planning to go, Young Master Tang?" Lin Mu asked coldly.
Tang Wu stood up, glaring at Lin Mu, "Lin Mu, what are you here for?"
"Well, I heard you were leaving, so I came to see you," Lin Mu said with a wicked smile, stepping further inside.
Tang Wu and Fang Zhongxin watched Lin Mu cautiously; having seen his prowess, he left them with quite the psychological impression.
"Thank you," Tang Wu said, looking at Lin Mu.
"You’re welcome," Lin Mu said, gripping a cigarette and sitting down beside the sofa, "Apart from seeing you off, there’s something else I want to ask."
"What is it?" Tang Wu asked, watching Lin Mu. From the beginning, Tang Wu had been very cautious, knowing Lin Mu wouldn’t come without a reason and certainly not for anything good.
