Chapter 32: 32. Girls time

After a delicious dinner together, Angeline was given a warm bath that helped her relax; she was also taught how to use something called scented lotion. Afterward, the maid showed her a large wardrobe filled with various beautiful dresses, including nightgowns and unique yet comfortable undergarments.

"All of this has been prepared by the young master, Princess Angeline..." said Peoni. Then, Lily opened another large closet, which was filled with a variety of beautiful shoes. There were also boxes of jewelry and items Angeline didn’t recognize.

Even though she was the king’s daughter, her life had never been luxurious. Whenever the King gave her a dress or anything luxurious, Annabelle would come and take it away or replace it with something ugly.

The King had even reprimanded her once, but nothing changed. Not even the Crown Prince could stop Annabelle.

Angeline was truly grateful that she had left that kingdom. If her mother knew, she would surely support her wholeheartedly.

"I’ll explain these items to you. All of this is called body care, and this is skincare. It’s for taking care of your skin and face so you don’t look dull. Even though you’re already beautiful, I’m sure you’ll really like this—oh, this is makeup; you’re definitely going to love it!" said Peoni.

After that, Peoni and Lily continued explaining various things. Not only was Angeline enthusiastic about listening, but so were Woni and Laura.

Once everything was done, Laura went to find Kaileon, who was in the family living room with Jo, Rua, and Yuya, watching something interesting on a big screen called a television.

"What are you guys doing? What’s that strange thing? Why are there people inside it?" Laura asked in wonder.

Kai turned to Laura and smiled, then explained.

"This is a television; what’s inside is a recorded movie... um—here, it’s probably like a recorded theater play, but we’re just watching a kids’ movie. Do you want me to walk you home, Laura?" Kai asked as he walked over to Laura.

The daughter of Marquis Maustrine did indeed have quite a bit of freedom at the Duke’s castle, so she could play anywhere without being restricted. Especially since her mother wasn’t Duchess Nathalia. Laura’s own mother was a gentle, intelligent, and very kind woman. She was a princess from the kingdom of Narandal, located somewhat far away but still on the Green Continent.

"No need—I’ll be staying here to keep Angeline company, but I came to see you now because I want to buy everything Angeline has; I’m really interested. What was it called again? Body lotion? Body care? Something like that—I want the purple one; I love the scent. And I also want skincare and makeup! But I don’t think Angeline and I really understand makeup yet... actually, there is makeup here too—it’s just expensive. My mom and the Duchess have it; they call it. But theirs has ugly designs and old-fashioned colors. The makeup you bought for Angeline has beautiful colors and the designs look lovely, so—"

"Enough! Okay, I’ll buy some for you too. Later, I’ll show you both how to use makeup, okay? But you have to remember, Laura... don’t tell anyone about anything you see here. Like that TV, and everything else. Don’t even say anything yet about all the amenities I’ve provided for Angeline." Kai quickly interjected before Laura could say much more.

Laura nodded in agreement, then went back to Angeline’s room.

Kai returned to the TV; it turned out the wolf children had already fallen asleep. Kai asked Jo to take Rua and Yuya to sleep in their rooms.

After they left, Kai took out his smartphone and summoned his AI assistant, Aery.

"Aery, can you provide various makeup tutorial recommendations for teenagers that would be suitable for the princesses of the kingdoms in this world? Then, display them all on the TV," Kai said.

Aery processed all of Kaileon’s commands and displayed various recommendations for beautiful, natural makeup tutorial videos suitable for teenagers.

Actually, the large TV in the living room couldn’t receive TV channels from Earth. However, Aery could display anything that had been uploaded to the internet—such as movies, dramas, videos, and more. The TV could also capture videos from the magic recorder or replay everything stored on it.

Kai went to Angeline’s room and suggested that they could watch the makeup tutorial more clearly on the TV.

All the girls looked very excited, so they all gathered in the living room.

Only Woni wasn’t allowed to watch with them because she was still young and had to go to bed early. Fortunately, she listened to Kai and went to bed without much complaint.

"You guys shouldn’t stay up too late, okay? I’m limiting your TV time to just two hours from now—the TV will automatically turn off after two hours, so everyone has to be in bed by then. There’s some fruit if you still want a snack. I’m going to my room; if there’s a problem, you can call me there," Kai said before heading to his room.

The girls fell silent until Kai disappeared behind his bedroom door.

"He’s so reliable, isn’t he, Angeline? You’re so lucky to have him! If only I didn’t already have a fiancé, I’d definitely be after him. Uh, I think I should introduce my fiancé to Kaileon, just to make sure my future is secure," whispered Laura.

"So that’s how you feel about Kaileon? Is he really that reliable?" Angeline asked in a soft voice. If Laura hadn’t been right next to Angeline, she wouldn’t have heard her.

"He’s exactly as you see him—there’s no deception in his actions. All those bad rumors about him aren’t true. I heard he just gained his powers, which is why he can suddenly be this amazing. Besides, he’s the son of one of the strongest men, and his mother is a descendant of fairies known for their unique and extraordinary magic. I think Kaileon’s unique powers allow him to buy unique items that don’t exist in this world... but he can also buy items from the magic tower, too. I don’t know, but one thing’s for sure—he’s reliable. Okay, forget that for now; let’s see what Kaileon has prepared," said Laura, acting like an older sister to Angeline.

Angeline herself was very happy because Laura was her first friend, who treated her so well and sincerely.

Happiness welled up in Angeline’s heart; she was so happy that day.

So happy, in fact, that for the first time in a long while—her sleep had always been restless due to nightmares—she was able to sleep soundly without any dreams at all.

"So Rendy’s in jail now, and his parents can’t work for the Duke anymore? What about that demon necklace?" Kai asked.

Very early in the morning—it was practically still dawn—Keith arrived with Jean. Both of them looked exhausted, so Kai made them a ginger health drink to help their bodies relax.

While drinking the health drink, Keith explained all the information he had gathered.

"That’s right, young master. This is good news for us, because that means we can take over the orphanage... Jean can manage it for us, since he has experience taking care of children. He’s also good at gardening, so he can teach the children at the orphanage how to grow vegetables and take care of laying hens as well. The Duke has agreed; he’ll issue the official permit to you, with Jean as the caretaker. Oh, and that demon necklace will be destroyed—only the magic stone at its core will be kept, since it’s very useful. Oh—the vast, barren land next to your supermarket will also be given to you. The good news is, the Duchess has also agreed, because she thinks you don’t know the condition of that land. She’s certain you’ll regret it later," said Keith.

Kai nodded, growing enthusiastic as he listened to Keith’s explanation. One by one, everything he wanted was coming true.

"So, what’s the bad news you were talking about, Keith?" asked Kai.

Keith smiled awkwardly again, "I don’t know if this is bad or not, young master... but three new maids will be coming to the pavilion to teach Peoni and Lily about the various duties a maid must know. Those three maids are from the kingdom. They were sent directly by King Nagreize—one of them is the crown prince’s maid. We don’t know if they’ll actually work here or if they’re just spies."

Kai nodded, his expression turning serious.

"I don’t think that’s a problem, Keith, because I’m going to buy some magic recording devices and place them in various corners of the pavilion. If possible, let’s put some in the castle too, to keep an eye on the situation there. Later, we’ll set up a secret room to hide the TV connected to those magic recording devices. Oh yeah, the TV is the transmitter—or whatever it’s called—just like the one from that hunt show yesterday," Kai said.

Keith was taken aback by the idea.

"But that’s very expensive, young master!"

Kai smiled. "It’s not expensive if I’m the one buying it; we’ll only need about ten small gold coins. I’m sure Father will approve of this idea."

Keith, who had calmed down after drinking the health potion, was now feeling uneasy again. Kaileon had way too many ideas.

"Oh, right, what about your fiancée, young master?" asked Keith.

Kai gave a small smile; he wasn’t sure how to answer that.
