The True Heiress is the Reserved Fiancé's Exclusive Memory
Chapter 779 - 803 Extremely Arrogant
The dormitory was very quiet.
Blair Chester sat with a cold face on the chair, while Wren King was applying makeup in front of the mirror.
In a while, George Davis would come to pick her up. He didn’t even mention Blair Chester over the phone, so she was naturally in a good mood, humming a light tune while putting on makeup, completely disregarding Blair Chester’s cold expression.
Blair Chester’s nails were almost digging into her palms, watching her, practically furious.
After forcing herself to calm down for a few minutes, she applied some lip gloss in front of the mirror.
Gradually, she settled down.
Not long after, George Davis called.
Wren King was wearing a rather flowing chiffon blouse with batwing sleeves, fluttering away like a butterfly.
Blair Chester grabbed her bag and followed her out, and the two reached the side of the car together.
Before Wren King could speak, George Davis paused for a moment and smiled lightly, "Miss Chester, I specifically came to pick up Miss King."
His demeanor was very polite, yet not warm.
Caiden Ward’s personal assistant was just like him, handling things with great tact, easily making people feel like a spring breeze, but upon closer contact, Blair Chester could sense that he never considered her a notable figure.
Wren King pursed her lips and smiled lightly.
Blair Chester did not look at her at all, speaking to George Davis in a calm tone, "I know you came to pick her up. Just drop me off halfway. I saw a beautiful necklace by Claralinia in the magazine last night, it should be at the jewelry store, I’ll go take a look."
Though she said look, wasn’t it just wanting?
George Davis naturally understood her implied meaning, thought for a moment, and nodded, "Alright."
After all—
Blair Chester was still Caiden Ward’s woman now, wasn’t she?
The boss said it, whatever clothes, shoes, bags, jewelry she liked, just find him. How could he not agree?
But—
Compared to those women from before, Blair Chester wasn’t extravagant, and the times she sought him were limited. Now, this sharing of the ride, what was it about?
George Davis looked at Wren King calmly, naturally understanding.
Women’s intrigues, he had seen plenty over the years and was too lazy to intervene, inviting both to get in the car.
He dropped Blair Chester halfway, and took Wren King to a private restaurant.
Caiden Ward and Maeve were already there.
The dishes had not yet been served, but the young girl was comfortable, sitting in Caiden Ward’s arms, nibbling on a chicken leg, with a KFC delivery bag thrown beside her, along with fries and ketchup.
"Hello, President Ward." Wren King greeted with a faint smile.
Caiden Ward glanced at her, smiled, "Come sit."
Wren King was wearing a short chiffon blouse with batwing sleeves, paired with tight jeans and five-centimeter heels, making her legs appear slender and attractive. Her smooth, shoulder-length hair wasn’t tied up, probably just washed, and as she approached, he caught a whiff of shampoo fragrance.
Interesting.
Caiden Ward looked up at George Davis, smiling lightly, "Tell the boss to bring me that bottle of red wine."
"Okay." George Davis turned and left.
Wren King paused, looked at him and said softly, "President Ward, I don’t drink."
"Hmm." Caiden Ward smiled, "I do."
Wren King felt a bit awkward, glanced at Maeve, and said with a smile, "How many chicken legs do you eat a day, Maeve?"
"Two." Maeve looked up, saw Blair Chester hadn’t come, naturally happy, stuck out two chubby fingers and gestured "two," tilting her head, "One at noon, one in the afternoon."
Her puffed cheeks were indeed cute, Wren King couldn’t help but laugh softly.
Maeve raised her hand, the chicken leg in her hand hitting Caiden Ward’s lips, her eyes wide, "What if I can’t eat anymore, I want to eat fries."
"If you can’t eat, then no more asking." Caiden Ward threw away the bone holding a napkin, pinched her cheeks, "Weren’t you going to lose weight? You’ve gotten fatter these days, your face is all chubby."
"You said chubby kids are cute." Maeve muttered dissatisfied, waved the fries aside and didn’t eat them anymore.
Caiden Ward: "..."
He hadn’t said anything, why was this little ancestor suddenly angry?!
How could he know, the word ’fat’ was really not nice to hear.
The girls mind, little girls mind too.
Especially when he said it in front of the slim and beautifully dressed Wren King, calling her fat. Little kids have their pride as well.
Maeve puffed her cheeks, glaring at the fries, throwing a tantrum.
The atmosphere immediately turned unpleasant.
Wren King hadn’t reacted yet when Caiden Ward raised a hand to push the fries back, smiling and coaxing, "You’re naturally cute, when has Uncle Ward ever lied to you? Eat quickly, they’ll taste bad once they get cold."
"I’m not eating, I want to lose weight." Maeve insisted.
Caiden Ward was practically on the verge of tears, pinched her cheeks, "If you lose weight, then pinching won’t be so comfortable."
Maeve glanced at him, rolling her eyes, pondering.
After a moment, she compromised, "Then eat with me, you one, me one."
Caiden Ward chuckled, "Be good and don’t fuss."
"You eat with me." Maeve tugged at the sleeves of his suit with greasy fingers, looking dissatisfied.
Caiden Ward lowered his gaze and saw his jacket, hard to look at, pressed his eyebrows with his hand, then pulled a napkin, starting to wipe her hands.
