Koa Jackson looked at her and smiled, reminding, "They should be arriving soon."
Who?
Mia Ginger took a moment to process and realized he was talking about Denver Petal and Olivia Williams, finally coming to her senses.
Blushing, she left Koa Jackson’s embrace and said, "Well, I... I’ll go to the bathroom to wash my face." 𝙛𝒓𝒆𝙚𝒘𝒆𝓫𝙣𝓸𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝒄𝒐𝓶
"Go ahead." Koa Jackson nodded, his expression calm.
Once she left, he furrowed his brow and exhaled before standing up from the sofa.
When Mia Ginger came out again, he had already returned to his usual composed and steady demeanor.
Mia Ginger went to the bedroom to tidy things up.
Olivia Williams lived alone, always staying in the spare room, so naturally, the master bedroom was unoccupied. After cleaning and tidying up, Mia Ginger changed the sheets and duvet cover to fresh ones, but instinctively furrowed her brow.
The sheets and duvet cover were chosen randomly when she bought them, as she wasn’t particular about such things.
But—
No matter how she looked at it, Koa Jackson sleeping among floral prints seemed a bit odd.
Whether it was Cloudy Capital or his apartment outside the hospital, the colors and styles of these items seemed to be quite minimalist.
Naturally, they’d have to be changed.
She let her mind wander for a while, then realized Koa Jackson hadn’t mentioned coming over to live here in the future.
Mia Ginger then stepped out of the bedroom.
Koa Jackson wasn’t in the living room; he was on the balcony enjoying the breeze.
This two-bedroom apartment wasn’t large, and the balcony was small too. He was tall, and standing there quietly made the space seem cramped.
Mia Ginger tiptoed over, and before she could wrap her arms around his waist from behind, Koa Jackson, as if he had eyes on his back, placed a hand on her neck and drew her into his embrace.
Mia Ginger was taken aback, obediently resting on his chest, looking up at him and calling, "Dr. Jackson."
Koa Jackson lowered his gaze and glanced at her, "Hmm?"
"Will you come over to stay with me at night from now on?" Mia Ginger asked expectantly.
"What do you think?" Koa Jackson responded softly.
Mia Ginger chuckled self-consciously, muttering, "I’m not a worm in your stomach, but since you love me so much, you probably will come over to accompany me."
"Shameless." Koa Jackson was amused by her earnest tone.
"Will you come?" Mia Ginger playfully traced circles on his suit jacket, insisting on an answer.
Actually, she still felt somewhat anxious inside.
Koa Jackson was usually busy at work and mostly stayed in the apartment outside the hospital as it was much closer, and a short walk would get him there. But Blossom Quarter Community is at least an hour’s drive away from the hospital, and now she decided to stay here, so she wasn’t sure if Koa Jackson would accompany her.
Koa Jackson raised his hand and pinched her cheek, "Wherever you live, I’ll live."
Mia Ginger suddenly felt delighted.
Climbing onto his shoulders, she planted a kiss on his chin, and vaguely heard the sound of the door lock turning.
The two of them returned to the living room together.
Olivia Williams and Denver Petal entered one after the other, with Denver Petal holding his phone. As he raised his eyes, he hesitated for a moment upon seeing Koa Jackson.
Then—
Koa Jackson’s phone, placed on the coffee table, started ringing.
Denver Petal hung up the call directly, jokingly saying, "Honestly, arriving first without even calling."
