With a tug at the corner of her lips forming a slight smile, she sidestepped him directly and went out.

Watching his back, Reagon Chapman couldn’t help but grit her teeth, maintaining a cold expression as she too stepped out.

What a pointless date!

Rushed over right after submitting her article, without even a moment to catch her breath, for what reason?!

All because her parents were pressing her too hard, saying she’d never get married if she didn’t go on a date soon. "Your sister’s son is already old enough to buy soy sauce, and even if you’re not marrying, think about your younger sister who needs to find someone too."

So she reluctantly agreed to meet Dallas Taylor.

Truth be told, she was a bit excited inside.

Her family was fairly well-off, her parents were very competitive, naming her Reagon Chapman, hoping for a brother, back when they were young.

In the end, they had another daughter after her, and their business miraculously just took off afterwards.

Because of this, her older sister, being gentle and amiable, was more favored and married well, while the younger sister was spoiled.

Though she had a tough personality that wasn’t easy to like, it didn’t mean she didn’t want to get married.

She had seen Dallas Taylor’s photo beforehand and was pretty aware of what Cloud Sky Group was all about. And since Dallas had no scandals, her good impression naturally increased, prompting her to agree to take the time to come over.

Who would have thought, after waiting for quite a while, the man still hadn’t shown up.

Being someone with a strong sense of timing, she naturally took her bag and decided to leave, only to find Dallas Taylor chatting with someone as she got downstairs.

She had met that young woman once, the girlfriend of that doctor from the fourth hospital. The girl was beautiful, had a good disposition, yet had a wary look on her face, clearly unwilling to engage with Dallas much, though he simply stood in the doorway refusing to make way.

What kind of person does that?

Given the comparison, of course, she wasn’t pleased.

Reagon Chapman walked past Koa Jackson with a face like frostbite.

Koa Jackson wasn’t concerned, holding his phone as he approached Mia Ginger, asking, "Why did you come out?"

"Saw you go out and hadn’t come back," Mia Ginger smiled.

"Let’s go in." Koa Jackson wrapped an arm around her shoulder, not showing any additional expression, and stepped up the stairs, heading back to the room.

Two more cold dishes were served afterwards, and Denver Petal and Olivia Williams kept chatting without eating. Seeing them come in, Denver couldn’t help but tease with a smile, "How come you had to go so far to make a call?"

"Some family matters," Koa Jackson didn’t elaborate.

Unaware of Zane Jackson’s situation, Denver only looked at Koa Jackson’s expression, thinking something might have happened to the old man, and asked with concern, "Is it the old man?"

"No," Koa Jackson smiled, "nothing major, let’s eat."

"That’s good," Denver nodded, feeling reassured.

——

After dinner, it was nearing nine o’clock in the evening.

Denver and Olivia were heading home, taking a different route.

They parted at the Willow New Street corner, with Koa Jackson and Mia Ginger heading back to Blossom Quarter.

The night air was a bit cool.

Once out of the car, Mia Ginger instinctively hugged her shoulders. She’d had a couple of sips of alcohol at dinner and felt a bit chilly against the wind.

Koa Jackson raised a hand to take off his jacket, but as Mia Ginger turned her head and noticed, she grabbed his fingers and said, "No need, I’m not cold, and we’re about to go up anyway. No need to take it off and put it back on." 𝐟𝗿𝐞𝚎𝚠𝐞𝚋𝕟𝐨𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝕔𝕠𝚖

While speaking, she backed away from Koa Jackson, moving backward with a smile on her face, looking silly.

The legendary one-drink drunk?

Koa Jackson recalled her previous drunk demeanor and couldn’t help but chuckle, pinching her slightly flushed cheek and softly saying, "Little Drunk."

"Me?" Mia Ginger tilted her head, questioned, before suddenly meowing, and jumped onto him directly.

Koa Jackson was taken aback, quickly catching her.

Mia Ginger wrapped her arms around his neck, her long legs hooked around his waist, swaying her body happily, and her soft cheeks nuzzled against his as she affectionately said, "I really like you."

"Drunk?" Koa Jackson raised an eyebrow looking at her.

"Not drunk," Mia Ginger shook her head.

Koa Jackson pursed his thin lips, chuckling, "With your tolerance, better not drink anything in the future."

"I said I am not drunk," Mia Ginger frowned slightly in displeasure, huffing at him and said, "Even if I were drunk, it wouldn’t be because of the alcohol, it would be because of you."

Thinking about seeing Koa Jackson every day from then on, she naturally felt happy.

It seemed like she could put all worries aside.

Koa Jackson looked at her clear bright eyes, slightly glistening, and felt the most tender spot in his heart stirred again, as if a soft little paw was gently scratching at his chest, itchy and tingly.

Tightening his hands that were holding her slightly, he carried the little girl in his arms and entered the building.
