This brother has sacrificed too much for her, supported her in too many ways. For her, he gave up basketball, which he loved since childhood, and guarded her all the way, transforming from a sunny, cheerful boy into a cold, silent financial investor, courted by major financial magazines the moment he returned home.

In the business world, he is always sharp-eyed and ruthless, yet with her, he is forever tender and loving, remaining unmarried even after turning thirty.

He said he would give her the best of everything.

Now that he has achieved it, she doesn’t even want to live anymore.

How could one not be angry?

Josephine Holland thought randomly and soon saw him returning with the medicine.

"Brother!" she called out flatteringly.

Frank Holland glanced down at her, his cold face finally softening a bit but still saying nothing, bent down, and picked her up from the bed.

"I can walk by myself," Josephine hurriedly said.

"It’s chilly outside, keep your clothes on," Frank instructed concisely.

Josephine quickly clutched his coat, staying silent, allowing him to carry her out of the hospital’s emergency department.

They ran into Denver Petal.

Denver stared at the two of them, stunned for a moment, "Heading back?"

"Yes." Frank raised his indifferent eyes to look at him, expressionless, "It’s late, go be with your wife."

Denver stared at him for a moment, suddenly feeling relieved.

He understood Frank’s character well, naturally knowing that he wouldn’t let Josephine suffer any grievance. Given his current status, he obviously wouldn’t let his sister get entangled with a married man. That’s why earlier, he neither fought back nor kept secrets, simply taking the punch and expressing his stance.

Denver nodded sincerely, "Thank you, brother."

"I’m not your brother, go on." Frank’s face remained stern.

Denver didn’t mind, glanced at Josephine, and advised, "Take care of yourself."

Josephine bit her lip as she looked at him, unable to feel wronged any longer.

Denver turned and left.

Josephine watched his slim, upright back, feeling upset, tears welling up again in her eyes.

Frank looked down at her coldly and said in a low voice, "Just try crying?"

That one sentence forced her tears back.

He seemed to only just feel at ease, holding her with an expressionless face but carefully placing her into the passenger seat, pulling over the seatbelt to buckle her in before turning to drive.

Denver sat in his car, and only after they left did he depart.

On the drive home, he parked the car and sat there for a while, gripping the steering wheel, lost in thought.

After a long time, he chuckled softly.

Feeling rather good.

The night had disturbed Frank, and he was prepared to see him beforehand, but things went more smoothly than he expected.

Frank could do nothing about his sister, yet now, it seemed things had turned around. He could sense Josephine was quite afraid of her current brother.

With his careful oversight, Josephine should be able to start anew.

And so can he.

Without such a heavy burden and sense of guilt, he can start over.

Denver got out of the car, rubbing his face with one hand, frowning, and took big strides back home.

At one in the morning, Olivia Williams should be asleep.

Yet he couldn’t calm himself, wanting to hold her.

Olivia had closed the door for sleeping but hadn’t locked it, Denver thought for a moment and gently pushed it open.

The room was pitch black.

The curtains were tightly drawn, with not a hint of light.
