"Alright." Leah eagerly peeled garlic for him. As it happened, everyone around her was good at cooking, exceptionally so, except for her. Whenever Griffith Squire and Richard Shaw saw her pick up a knife, their faces turned pale, and they adamantly refused to let her into the kitchen.

"Why did you suddenly think to invite me for a meal?" Hawk Howard skillfully placed the washed bones and meat into a casserole, adding ginger, rice wine, and green onions, then started simmering it slowly.

"I just want to ask you about some past events, so after dinner, how about we take a stroll in the nearby park?" Leah said while peeling garlic.

Hawk paused as he opened the refrigerator, then continued to inspect the vegetables and meats inside, speaking softly, "What do you want to know?"

"What kind of person was I before?" Leah pondered before asking.

"Free-spirited like the wind, cunning like a fox, beautiful and generous, exceptionally intelligent, with your own set of principles for handling people and matters." Hawk replied calmly, deciding to make Leah’s favorite dish of chopped pepper fish head for lunch, along with a mild Four Happiness Hotpot suitable for children, a shrimp dish, and a beef brisket pot, which should be enough.

"Does Miss Gu like spicy food?" Hawk suddenly asked.

"She prefers lighter flavors, but with your great cooking, she can handle spicy food," Leah was still immersed in his words, amazed by how highly Hawk regarded her.

She had always thought of herself as quite mediocre, with nothing to show other than a pretty face.

"Caspian, aside from having a good-looking face, I can’t do anything else, not even cook." Leah said despondently.

"You can do many things; you’ve just never had the chance to showcase them." Hawk gave her a profound look and said, "You got into Imperial City University with high scores in your college entrance exams, you’re talented in car racing, and you can handle firearms and martial arts, Leah. You just didn’t strive like ordinary people to prove yourself."

Leah felt sweetly delighted by his words and smiled with squinted eyes, "When you put it that way, I suddenly feel like I’m quite excellent after all."

Hawk lowered his eyes and smiled faintly; she was so excellent that he couldn’t forget her even after ten years, what more could he want?

"My brother is planning to wash his hands of his past deeds, and I want to do something legitimate, but I don’t know what. Caspian, can you help me think it over?"

Hawk chopped the peeled garlic into pieces, sliced the ginger, and prepared the necessary seasonings on a plate, swiftly cleaning the fish head before saying, "You took a break from your academic studies after less than a year. Studying was a bit boring for you; you could do something you enjoy, like opening a cafe or a garden inn incorporating Chinese elements. Doing this in the United States could bring a unique clash of Eastern and Western cultures."

"To the United States?" Leah thought about it, then fell silent. It seemed she really couldn’t do these things domestically.

"If you find these rather dull too, you could participate in international volunteer activities or travel around the world giving lectures, showing people the things you want to convey to the world. Many unique people are doing these things, sticking with them for years, and they’ve found success and happiness." Hawk continued.

"And what about you? What do you want to do?"

Hawk placed the fish head into the pot to steam, then cut half a bowl of pickled peppers and other seasonings, arranging them evenly on the fish head, before pouring hot oil over it, completing a large dish.

What he wanted to do was marry the girl he liked, cook for her every day, pamper her like a little princess, and help her achieve what she wanted to do.

"I hope to have a home." The man said lightly, "This dish is ready; you can take it to the living room and tell Miss Gu we’ll be ready to eat in fifteen minutes. But the bone broth will be for dinner."

While saying this, Hawk went to make the Four Happiness Hotpot, followed by two stir-fried dishes. With perfect timing, using two stoves simultaneously, he finished three dishes in fifteen minutes, filling the room with a delightful aroma.

Hawk brought the dishes to the living room, removed his apron, washed his hands, and said with a faint smile, "Four dishes should be enough."

"Plenty, plenty." Delphine was amazed at how quickly he had prepared such colorful and fragrant dishes, then glanced at the two little boys eagerly waiting to eat and laughed, "Thanks for the hard work, Mr. Howard, coming over for the first time and having you cook."

"It’s no trouble. Whenever Leah and I are together, I’m the one who cooks for her." The man smiled, looking even more handsome.

"Caspian’s cooking skills are especially superb. Everyone, quickly sit down and eat while it’s hot," Leah placed the bowls and plates, served half a bowl of rice to each little boy, and when she noticed Hawk taking the rice scoop from her hand to serve rice for her and Delphine, she sat down at the dining table with a smile.

Delphine noticed how attentive Hawk was and felt slightly moved. She winked at Leah and quietly said, "Good family background, good education, good character, gentle in dealing with others, and also good-looking. Leah Squire, you’ve really struck gold."

"If things don’t work out between me and Richard Shaw, I’ll marry Caspian," Leah said with a soft laugh.

Delphine kept nodding, "Indeed, indeed."

The meal was enjoyed by all, and after the two little boys finished eating, they went for a nap. Delphine went to wash the dishes after eating.

Caspian and Leah went for a walk in the nearby park to digest their food, chatting as they strolled.

Both wore green coats with fur collars; one was tall and slender, the other tall and lean. Walking together, the man was handsome, the woman stunningly beautiful. Luckily, it was a wealthy area, and the park was sparsely populated, otherwise, they would have certainly drawn much attention.

The park had a pigeon area, and Leah eagerly went to a nearby bakery to buy a bag of bread, returning to feed the pigeons. The two then sat on a wooden bench, listening to the pigeons cooing, feeding those gathered at their feet. Occasionally, a group of mischievous pigeons would flutter their wings and soar into the sky, free and unrestrained.

The winter sun shone lazily through the leaves.

Leah watched the pigeons take flight, tugged at Hawk’s clothes, and said excitedly, "Caspian, it’s my first time feeding pigeons."

Watching her tugging at his clothes, Hawk smiled, it was his first time accompanying a girl he liked feeding pigeons. When you truly like someone, everything they do brings joy.

Hawk felt a stir in his heart, reached out to hold her hand, and said in a low voice, "Leah, failure in marriage is always due to irreconcilable differences. Since you’ve forgotten past pains, why not try embracing a new life, and new people? You could try with me. I’ve liked you for ten years."

Leah’s smile froze, looking at Hawk, who wore an earnest expression. Suddenly, images flashed in her mind—a Hawk wearing a white shirt standing on a podium with a composed look, grading her exams and marking them with a red pen, racing with her at Clear Creek Bay as a lone figure, living in a small villa in Switzerland, cooking meals and calling her to eat.

The hand held by him felt scorching hot; he truly was such a good Hawk.
