The Villainess Redeems Herself, The Beast Husbands are in a Daily Love Battle
Chapter 206: Claiming the Credit
"If you’ve got something to say, spit it out, don’t waste so much time. Do you think we enjoy listening to your crap? Get to the point, or in the next second, you won’t need to say anything."
"My mom can’t possibly steal Selene’s invention to claim credit, right?"
Heath’s voice carried a hint of grievance.
"I’m not the kind of person who stabs friends in the back! Besides, if Selene Kane decides to pursue this, our entire family will be in trouble!"
Heath suddenly shook, a faint silver glow appeared on his body, and he instantly transformed back into the Border Collie clan form.
A small Spirit Beast, pure white all over.
He dashed out from between the two people.
At the doorway, he changed back into human form and stood firmly.
He looked down at the Osborne Brothers still in shock on the ground.
"Alas... poor kids, probably no one will want you in the future. If you can’t see the dark side of your own mother, who can you expect to truly stick by you?"
"Your mom suggested... dissecting Selene Kane to extract the secret of that invention from her."
As soon as the words fell, the whole room became silent.
Even the wind stopped flowing, and the leaves outside the window no longer rustled.
An overwhelming dead silence filled the air.
In the Osborne Brothers’ minds, a bolt of thunder exploded.
Their ears buzzed, and blood rushed to their heads instantly.
Their mom is the gentlest female.
Even when the Female Master used to hit them, she was always the first to shield them, gently embracing them.
"Hold it in, don’t talk back."
But now, she actually suggested dissecting the Female Master?
The one who saved countless lives and whom they revered as their faith, Selene Kane?
Then what about them?
Who will take care of them? 𝕗𝐫𝐞𝕖𝕨𝐞𝗯𝚗𝕠𝘃𝐞𝚕.𝐜𝗼𝚖
If even their closest mother can say such words.
Is there anything left in this world worth believing in?
Heath saw that the situation had completely exploded and turned to run.
As he sprinted towards the end of the corridor, he looked back and shouted.
"Don’t kill me! I’m just the messenger! It’s really nothing to do with me!"
He needs to hide for a while, or he’ll be torn apart by those two hot-tempered brothers on the spot.
He’ll wait until they calm down before speaking, trying to mediate now is tantamount to seeking death.
Ethan’s eyes immediately turned red, his eyes quickly filling with blood, his lips slightly trembling, his voice shaking.
"Brother... is what he said true? Is that why the Female Master doesn’t want us anymore?"
Tears welled up at the corners of his eyes but stubbornly refused to fall.
"Does she think... we’re accomplices too? But I clearly don’t know anything!"
Why should their mom’s actions be pinned on them?
This matter clearly has nothing to do with them, so why do they have to bear all the responsibility?
It’s completely unfair!
There must be some misunderstanding, there must be!
Things can’t be as simple as they seem on the surface, there must be a truth they don’t know about hidden behind.
As long as they investigate further, ask more questions, they’re sure to find out.
Evan leaned back into the sofa, his gaze hollow.
He swallowed, his Adam’s apple moving up and down.
"Not a single word from the Academy can be trusted. Let’s ask mom first."
His eyelashes trembled lightly, his fingers clenched, knuckles whitening.
As soon as the video connected, Lady Lynn was already prepared.
But seeing her two sons covered in injuries, her heart ached.
As soon as the screen lit up, Lady Lynn was sitting in the study chair.
Her clothing was neat, expression calm.
However, when Evan and Ethan appeared onscreen with their faces bruised and bloodied, her heart contracted suddenly.
"Why aren’t you bandaged up? The wounds are still bleeding!"
Her voice sharply rose, filled with distress.
"Did you use the medicine I brought you?"
She bit her lip, forcing herself to calm down.
The medicine was custom-made by her, had effects to stop bleeding and reduce inflammation, every bottle personally sealed and handed to them.
"No matter how bad her temper is, you just have to endure it. As long as she doesn’t drive you away, life can go on."
When she said this, her eyes subtly avoided.
Evan’s voice was hoarse.
"Mom... the Female Master..."
He wanted to say the truth, but the words got stuck in his mouth.
In front of outsiders, he pretended to be arrogant and crazy.
But in front of his mom, he softened like a frightened kitten.
Just seeing his mother, all his facades shattered instantly, his gaze became moist.
His whole body curled up.
Before he could say a few words, tears started falling down.
Tears suddenly poured forth, slid down his cheeks, landing on the back of his hand.
He didn’t wipe them away, just lowered his head, lips slightly trembling, a faint choking sound in his throat.
Lady Lynn sighed lightly.
"Did she trouble you? It’s mom’s fault. But I’m standing on a different stance, I can’t help you much."
"If you want to come back, I can send a car right now to pick you up."
When she said this, her tone was solemn.
No matter what the cost, she would bring them back.
Even if it’s just letting them stay by her side for one more day, even if it’s just seeing them one more time.
Evan didn’t wait for her to finish, immediately shook his head.
"No... not wanting to return."
He lifted his hand, wiped the tears off his face forcefully.
If he escapes, the truth will forever be buried.
And he would never be able to face himself.
He didn’t know how to begin.
On one side was the mom who gave him life, on the other was the Female Master he married.
"Mom..."
Evan’s ears quivered slightly, wishing he could grow fur.
He wanted to cover his face with his ears.
"Earlier... a scientist mentioned, is there some misunderstanding between you and the Female Master?"
After speaking, his face turned pale, even held his breath.
Dissection?
Such a thing, he hardly dared believe.
Dissection... conducting experiments on the Female Master?
This was utterly absurd, against ethics, trampling rules.
Yet everything before him was so undeniably real.
Lady Lynn’s face turned from pale to red.
Finally, she lowered her head, sighed deeply.
Her fingertips trembled slightly, fine cold sweat beaded on her forehead.
The previously straight spine gradually bent down.
That sigh was so heavy it nearly tore the air apart, filled with endless regret.
"It’s Heath, isn’t it... this child, never knows when to shut his mouth."
When she said this, there was no blame in her tone.
Although Heath speaks without thinking.
He’s always candid and sincere, never purposely hurts anyone.
"Selene Kane, I already investigated before your marriage. She never awakened any special abilities. But data is something that, just in case the system was wrong before, has to be verified by experiments."
Her tone gradually calmed down.
In her eyes, Selene Kane was just an ordinary Female Master, with even incomplete awakening records.
If so, her genes are worth studying.
"Data might be wrong," this was her sole reason, also the most cruel excuse.
She didn’t say directly.
But Evan already understood.
No extra explanations needed, no further confirmation required.
The subtext in his mother’s words was already crystal clear.
For so-called "scientific value," she’s willing to sacrifice Selene Kane, even going as far as to let her sons bear the blame of betraying a spouse.
Evan only felt a chill from the soles of his feet directly hitting his head, his whole body trembling.
He looked at his mother’s drooping face, suddenly realized, the person before him was no longer that gentle, loving mother.
But the high and mighty Osborne Family ruler.
What Heath said was true.
That usually carefree Heath, actually was the first to see through this conspiracy.
