The Villain's Story
Chapter 881: The Spawn of the Void.
"Tell me more about the Void Spawn and Aether."
Alan asked, and after thinking for a moment, he added.
"The universal, abyssal, and celestial consciousness as well. Please."
Valus straightened his body and replaced the missing parts with ethereal darkness. Heaving a sigh of relief, he began to explain, starting with the Voidspawn.
"The Void Spawn are the third prime species. They control the energy known as Aether, the power of the soul. It is the least abundant energy in the universe. Voidspawn have many individual characteristics, so it's hard to explain their appearance. Some can be in the form of animals, some in the form of fish, and some in the form of insects. Some can also take on other, more strange forms.
Unlike Dragons and God beasts, they do not share any common features among one another, even if they are related. They can be similar, but these similarities are negligible."
He took a deep breath and continued.
"The Voidspawn are mostly dead; only twenty-nine of them exist today, most in the region of the universe called the Void. A few of them can be found in the Abyss as well, or floating in some random region of space."
"Why are there so few of them? Are they like, super strong?"
"No, weaker. Among the three Prime Species, Dragons are the strongest and the most adaptable. If we weren't, that bastard wouldn't have made you start as a dragon. The Voidspawn possess many abilities, but are generally weaker. They aren't as durable as we are, which is why they create spirits to fight for them, or take most of the blows. As for why they are so few... I have to start far back.
Alan, what do you think the universe was like at the start?"
Alan raised his brows, confused at the sudden question. How was he supposed to answer something like that? What was the universe like at the start? How should he know? He wasn't one of the dragons as old as time.
He was barely five.
Perplexed, he still gave a vague answer.
"Dark? Devoid of light?"
"Yes."
"Huh, didn't think I would be right."
Valus let out a hollow chuckle and explained.
"There was nothing but darkness at first, and this didn't change for a while. The Creator wasn't focused on making his universe full of life or anything of the sort. He had one goal. Conquer the other universes. The irony in that statement is that there was no need to do so.
Our universe is at the center of everything; we have all of the Primordial Rivers, all affinities, and the largest reserves of every kind of energy. Mana, Aura, and Aether, but he couldn't be satisfied with it. He wanted it all.
To get it, he made us. The Dragons, The God Beasts, and The VoidSpawn. Each of the three species was specifically designed for one of the three energies, to be able to use it to the best. We were his Magnum Opus, sent to conquer the other universes.
All for no reason, as well, there wasn't any point in waging a universal war. Our reserves wouldn't increase, and neither would our area. All of the other consciousnesses chose to destroy everything they created and be erased from existence once defeated.
And as we laid siege to them, we began to like them more than our own, purely because we had nothing. No stars, no light, not even food, the other universes paid some attention to these things; they filled that large space with stars, planets full of life, and everything beautiful, while our one only paid attention to creating us.
Whenever we came back from a conquest, all we would do was rest in complete darkness, waiting for the next deployment. We hated it, and eventually, rebelled."
He smiled, as if remembering some 'good' times. Valus then went on to explain.
"It was my generation that rebelled. The third generation. We didn't do anything grand at first; we simply copied what we had seen. We made large rocks, and then made homes on those large rocks. That was all we knew how to do. Surprisingly, it let us do that. It didn't really care for us, or what we did, as long as we complied."
"Who were the first two?" ππ³π¦ππ€ππ£π―β΄π·π¦π.πππ
Alan asked, although he knew some of the answer. If Valus referred to himself as the third generation, Ariel was definitely the second, though, who was the first? That was the real question. He was curious to find out what kind of beings existed before that cranky old dragon.
"The second generation is my mother's generation. Her and the other Primordial Beings. It consists of fifteen beings.
Of the Dragons, we have Izik, the Primordial Dragon of War. Tiamat, the Primordial Dragon of Chaos, Bahamut, the Primordial Dragon of Order, Ariel, The Primordial Dragon of Death, and Liorakiji, the Primordial Dragon of Life.
Of the God Beasts, we have Aravi, the Primordial Priestess of the Eternal Flame, Loki, the Primordial Beast of Mischief, Shrona, the Primordial Beast of Judgement, Liorathen, the Primordial Beast of Life, and Vrit, the Primordial Beast of Battle.
Of the VoidSpawn, we have Cthulhu, Primordial Spawn of Pandemonium, Weaver, Primordial Spawn of Fate, Uvarak, Primordial Spawn of Life, Ktanayi, Primordial Spawn of Combat, and L'tha, Primordial Spawn of the Stars.
These fifteen are the second generation of beings to ever exist, although they gained these titles later. Right now, among the Dragons, all five of the Primordials are... alive. Among the Godbeasts, Vrit and Loki are dead; you know who killed the latter.
And among the VoidSpawn, only Weaver and L'tha are alive."
Valus took another deep breath, and his face contorted into a sorrowful expression as he continued, this time, on the first generation.
"Above them are the progenitors who gave birth to them all. The First Three to ever exist: the First Dragon, the First God Beast, the First Voidspawn. They exist at a level above Primordial, the realm of the Absolute."
