Chapter 49: Chapter 49: Demonic Mana

After leaving Charlotte in the gravity room to continue circulating her mana, Kael headed toward the dormitory building.

Charlotte had finally taken her first step toward becoming a Warlock although her struggles are still beginning. If she could successfully form a mana core, her future would change completely. But for now, there was nothing more he could do for her but to hope that her desperation for power can really push her to create her mana core faster.

But for now his s own problems needed attention.

The elevator carried him upward toward the girls’ dormitory floor which was just above the boys dormitory all first years of both gender stay in the same dormitory,So you could imagine how big it is.

Even the academy wasn’t particularly strict regarding sexual relationships between students or even deaths of students provided they weren’t high profile and As long as they attended classes and completed assignments, the administration rarely interfered or didn’t interfere at all with the students. The academy’s philosophy was simple: survive if you could, die if you were weak.

Sounds irresponsible but it’s actually pretty effective if you want to survive in a world like this.

Stepping out of the elevator, Kael suddenly stopped.

Standing in front of him was Aurelia Voss.

The strongest first-year student.

The two stared at each other for a moment.

"It has reduced again," Aurelia muttered.

Kael frowned, "What do you mean?" He asked

"Methods to kill you," she replied nonchalantly.

Kael immediately used Flash Step to create some distance between them.

"Exactly how many methods are there now?" Kael asked already standing alert for any attack.

"One thousand and twelve."

She replied before entering the elevator, without any further suspense.

Kael froze.

"So my growth wasn’t fast, I’m still very weak."

He watched the elevator doors close but his expression was fierce.

He hadn’t expected Aurelia’s eyes to be that overpowered, but he still planned on defeating her someday. If she could still see more than a thousand ways to kill him, then he was obviously still had a long way to go.

"One step at a time." Kael said to himself.

Inside the elevator, Aurelia remained silent.

"How does someone grow that fast?"

During the Ogre Examination, she had seen over nine thousand methods and weak points she could exploit to kill Kael Draven.

Now, after barely a month, that number had fallen drastically.

And he wasn’t even at her rank yet.

"Kael Draven... who exactly are you?"

She listened to the peaceful hum of the elevator as the question lingered in her mind.

Meanwhile, Kael continued walking.

A slight frown remained on his face, from the previous encounter.

Leon had struggled against Aurelia during the academy tournament while Kael was playing the game. She had gone on to kill multiple Giants and Titans despite only being at SR-Rank during that period with how powerful those entities where it’s actually a huge feat.

"I guess I really overestimated myself." He muttered annoyingly.

Kael eventually arrived outside Lilith’s room.

Although he had never been there before, Lilith had casually mentioned her room number during one of her many visits to his room which seemed like her second home.

Stopping in front of the door, he knocked softly.

Several seconds later, the door opened.

Lilith stared at him, her eyes widening from surprise at the unexpected visit.

Then immediately grabbed his arm and dragged him inside.

The door slammed shut behind them.

Kael blinked in surprise.

Looking around the room, he noticed something immediately.

The room or her room was basically Pink.

There was pink everywhere.

Pink curtains.

Pink pillows.

Pink decorations.

Pink blankets.

"I didn’t know you liked pink so much." Kael said with teasing smirk on his face

Lilith immediately covered his eyes.

"Stop that."

"But you come to my room all the time and I can’t comment on yours",Kael said while chuckling.

"I’m serious."

"Stop teasing me."

She sounded genuinely embarrassed.

Kael smiled before wrapping an arm around her waist drawing her close to his chest.

Lilith immediately stiffened.

"You know I’m supposed to be keeping a low profile," Lilith said.

"And you coming to my room out of the blue, which isn’t the kind of help I expected from you?" Lilith said with a pout.

"Fair point, but my reason is valid and also really important", Kael replied

Lilith huffed before sitting beside him.

"So what is this valid, important reason of yours?" She questioned.

Her expression turned serious she thought back to her previous encounter with Sean "Did Sean try to approach him after all my warning maybe u should just kill him". Lilith thought with a sinister expression.

Kael sighed.

"I want to learn illusion magic."

He paused briefly.

"That’s not an Valid reason". She immediately shot back, while also feeling relieved.

"And I need help controlling my Demonic mana."

Lilith paused looking at him curiously.

"Demonic mana?"

Kael nodded.

Lilith thought for a moment.

"Demons naturally learn how to move their cores around their bodies which also aids in their control of demonic mana so it really isn’t a teachable subject."

Kael blinked.

"What?"

Lilith nodded.

"When a demonic core develops, most demons learn to relocate it throughout their body. It reduces the chances of being killed by a sneak attack aimed directly at the core."

Kael absorbed the information.

"So you formed your demonic core naturally?"

Lilith nodded.

"Of course."

Kael leaned back.

"But how exactly do you cultivate demonic mana?"

That was the question he truly wanted answered.

Demonic mana was practically a cheat code.

Unlike ordinary elemental mana, demonic mana could imitate most elements.

Fire.

Water.

Wind.

Earth.

Lightning.

The only exceptions were conceptual attributes such as Time, Space Light and Darkness although people believe that Dark Magic is also a form of demonic mana but there’s a major difference between them both every demon possesses demonic mana but even in the demon realm Darkness is a rare attribute.

If Kael could fully master demonic mana, he could slowly merge it with his natural Darkness attribute. He could cast multiple elemental spells without exposing himself as a demon.

Lilith looked at him carefully.

"If you want to control your demonic mana properly, you’ll have to release it first."

Kael frowned.

"That sounds dangerous."

"It is."

Lilith smiled.

"But you’re not the only one here."

Kael remained silent.

"What if I lose control?"

Lilith laughed softly.

"You think I can’t handle you?"

She folded her arms beneath her plump chest.

"I’m stronger than you."

Kael grinned.

"Then why do you black out first every time we have sex?"

Lilith froze.

Her face immediately turned red.

"You idiot! Why would you be asking that now?" She said exasperated.

"The reason for that is because you’re always too rough."

She looked away in embarrassment.

Kael couldn’t stop the smirk on his face.

Lilith glared at him.

"Stop smiling."

"Fine."

He failed to stop smiling.

Eventually Lilith sighed.

"Back to the important topic."

She walked toward one of the cabinets in her room before taking out a strange circular object.

Runic symbols covered its surface with multiple sigils embedded in it .

Mana flowed through it continuously but it wasn’t regular mana it was Demonic mana.

Kael immediately focused on the device.

"What is that?"

Lilith held it up.

"A concealment device."

Kael stared at it.

Suddenly, a realization struck him.

Back in Velcrest City, when his Demon Seed had awakened, no Hunters had appeared.

No authorities had investigated.

Nobody had surrounded the hotel.

At the time, he hadn’t questioned it.

Now he finally understood.

Lilith noticed his expression and smiled.

"So you finally realized it today, but that’s to be expected you were thinking with your other head then." She said placing the device on the table.

"Back then, I activated this."

Kael looked at the artifact carefully.

"What exactly is it?"

"One of the best concealment devices in the world."

Lilith gently traced the runes on its surface.

"It was created by a Powerful Dwarven Smith affiliated with the Velvet Gang."

She paused briefly.

"Every one of the Twelve Members of the Creed and their protégés received one of this device."

Kael nodded slowly.

That explained everything.

It also showed just how much influence the Velvet Gang truly possessed.

Come to think of it, he had completely lowered his guard after leaving the academy.

That kind of mistake could have gotten him killed.

"I really need to be more careful." He muttered to himself.

Lilith sat beside him again.

"Back then, I brought the device for myself."

She smiled.

"But who would have thought you’d turn out to be a Demon King Candidate?"

Kael shook his head.

The situation still felt ridiculous and the trigger to the transformation is even more ridiculous.

"What exactly are we doing then?" Kael asked.

Lilith smiled mischievously.

"Simple."

She pointed toward his hand.

"Take off the ring."

Kael looked down at the ring Tsukiyomi had given him.

The same ring currently suppressing the Demon Seed.

Then he looked back at Lilith.

"You’re sure about this?"

Lilith’s smile widened.

"Completely."
