The Warden of Sexy Witches
Chapter 647 - 646: Winning Against the Strong with the Weak_1
Half an hour later, Rose Iron Prison.
"My stomach suddenly stopped hurting!"
"Damn, that’s amazing."
"What happened?"
A commotion arose among the female prisoners concentrated in the infirmary; every inmate there had been suffering from flu symptoms, but not long after being gathered in the infirmary, their symptoms began to rapidly subside and soon vanished without a trace.
"Everyone assemble, line up in columns, back to your cells, and make it quick." Veronica loudly directed the prisoners to leave the infirmary, preparing to bring in the next group of inmates.
Aiden stood with his hands behind his back in the corner, calmly observing the situation.
"’Order’s’ power is really useful, huh? It can even cure diseases." The phantom of the Great Witch appeared again by his side.
"It only works on diseases whose mechanisms I understand; these abilities aren’t omnipotent," Aiden replied.
"For example?" asked the Great Witch with interest.
"Why would I discuss my weaknesses with you?" Aiden calmly responded.
The power of "Law" wasn’t omnipotent. It could force people to follow rules and commands, but it couldn’t fundamentally alter a person’s mindset. It could modify some easy-to-understand physical rules, such as the direction of gravity, the flow of air, and the propagation of light, but this power couldn’t directly interfere with time and space, nor could it affect the physical rules of the microscopic world. Aiden guessed that such matters were likely beyond the influence of a Saint’s domain. Moreover, the effects of "Law" were very limited when applied to things that its user didn’t understand.
Additionally, the power of "Law," like the rules of the Wordless Code, couldn’t directly interfere with the forces of other authorities; it could only target the effects caused by those forces. If the level of the opponent’s authority was higher, "Law" would fail.
The Great Witch wasn’t someone to be trusted. Aiden wouldn’t discuss too many details of his powers with her, but for him to make it to the end in this chess game, this piece was indispensable.
"We aren’t exactly comrades united on the same front, are we? It wouldn’t hurt to understand each other a bit for backup. I’ve already told you all about my powers," the Great Witch smiled.
"That’s only because the enemy holds the ’Hatred’ authority. You and I are completely incompatible; we’re just using each other, so let’s not get overly familiar," Aiden replied.
"I don’t like people who calculate risks at every step like you do, but the secrets you’ve told me are interesting. They’ve helped me understand many things I couldn’t figure out before, and for that, I am grateful to you," she said.
"Just don’t stab me in the back, and I’ll be thanking my lucky stars," Aiden sighed.
"Then tell me, how many more times can you decree a rule?" the Great Witch asked.
"Once," Aiden answered.
The cooldown for a Saint-level "Law" power, similar to the Wordless Code, was one day for each rule, with each rule having its own independent cooldown.
The difference was that a Saint’s "Law" power could decree up to five rules in a day, but each would only last for about an hour.
The tricky part for Aiden was that formulating unbreakable contracts also required the consumption of power. If one wanted to maintain a contract continuously, the number of rules the power user could decree would decrease by one, until the contract was fulfilled or dissolved.
In order to maintain the mutual assistance contract between Abigail and Qiqimora, Aiden had made a consumption.
Then, to seek the assistance of the three Great Witches in the joint effort against Mr. Bloodcoat and the Goddess of Conspiracy, and to ensure there would be no betrayal among them, Aiden devised another contract for the four of them.
Lastly, to ensure that the Goddess of Vengeance would not betray him, Aiden crafted a separate contract with her—if the Goddess of Vengeance could ascend to be a Ruler, in reality, she had the power to tear up the contracts made by the saints, but according to Aiden’s ascension ceremony, once the Goddess of Vengeance returned to her divine position, he would also complete the ceremony and ascend, and the power of the contract would be elevated to the Ruler level.
Maintaining three contracts, so in fact, Aiden could now only declare rules twice a day; using the rule to treat the prisoners in the Rose Iron Prison, he could only declare one more rule.
Of course, if he withdrew the contracts he was currently maintaining, he could restore the ability to declare rules, but this would also come with the risk of those temporarily recruited "companions" turning against him—an alliance with a bunch of bad women was just that troublesome. 𝚏𝕣𝕖𝚎𝚠𝚎𝚋𝚗𝐨𝐯𝕖𝕝.𝕔𝐨𝕞
"You’re almost equivalent to having wasted one power," said the Goddess of Vengeance, "If he starts spreading the plague again, are you going to continue to use your power to solve it?"
"There’s a mutual assistance contract between Abigail and me, she will come," replied Aiden, "She is capable of handling the plague, rest assured."
Abigail’s "Life" authority could easily alter the physiological state of a living being, and she was most adept at dealing with diseases.
"I guess that maggot will probably make a move," said the Goddess of Vengeance, "Although there’s a risk, he will take it; the plague won’t kill you, it can only cause chaos or deplete your power, and he won’t miss this opportunity."
"Since it’s your guess, it is probably not wrong," Aiden said, "But that’s also good, now in terms of combat power, we have the advantage on our side."
The Goddess of Vengeance and Mr. Bloodcoat had both been affected by the "Hatred" authority, sharing a certain commonality in their thought processes.
Their thinking was marked by insanity uncharacteristic of ordinary people, unafraid of sacrifice and undeterred by risk.
By Aiden’s estimation, unlike the situation in Sunset City where Mr. Bloodcoat easily overpowered him, now they had three saints on their side and controlled two unique authorities, Mr. Bloodcoat’s resorting again to Death was somewhat a forced choice.
"Just to remind you," said the Goddess of Vengeance, "he has managed to win against the odds before. Like you, he was groomed by the Goddess of Conspiracy."
"I know," Aiden said.
The dreadfulness of Mr. Bloodcoat was not limited to the power at his disposal.
The man was mad, but not foolish; rather, he was adept at strategy, unlike Aiden, who had been shepherded through the Goddess of Conspiracy’s script to sainthood, Mr. Bloodcoat had climbed from being an ordinary man to his current position step by step on his own.
During their time in Sunset City, Aiden had already received a taste of it—by means of unexpected arrangements and strategies, Mr. Bloodcoat had them cornered at their base, just as they were evacuating. Professor Dodge, who possessed the ability to threaten him with the Hand of Obliteration, ended up killed by Mr. Bloodcoat.
Although the fall of the Goddess of Vengeance was orchestrated by the Goddess of Conspiracy, the executor was Mr. Bloodcoat, who wasn’t even a saint at the time.
Aiden even had a premonition that he might have overlooked a certain situation.
"Could you tell me how you were defeated by them in the past?" Aiden asked casually, wanting it as a reference.
"Hmph, why should I talk to you about my defeats and weaknesses?" retorted the Goddess of Vengeance, without hesitation throwing Aiden’s earlier refusal back at him.
