The Whole Internet is Shipping Me with My Ex-Boyfriend
Chapter 592 - 3: Chi Yu’s Two Consciousnesses Alternate Repeatedly_3
There’s nothing left, really nothing at all.
Gu Yuan placed the snacks in the back.
Chi Yu, who was driving, saw this scene from the rearview mirror and laughed out of place. Suisui heard Chi Yu’s laughter and pouted: "You’re still laughing, you don’t help me. You should tell Mom, I’ll just have one, okay?"
Chi Yu rested his elbow on the left window sill, one hand holding the steering wheel, occasionally glancing at the rearview mirror, replying with a smile: "It’s not that I won’t help you, it’s that I can’t. Look at your mom’s face; it’s scary when she’s stern. You’re scared, and so am I."
Suisui listened and sneaked a glance at her mom’s expression.
Chi Yu was right, Mom is really scary when she’s not happy.
"Well, forget it, Chi Yu better not take the risk for me." Suisui muttered softly.
Chi Yu was in a great mood, his eyebrows and eyes were filled with amusement, especially seeing his daughter’s aggrieved expression in the rearview mirror, cute and irresistibly funny.
What a mischievous little rascal.
On the contrary, Gu Yuan, her expression had remained quite calm, as she was preoccupied with other thoughts.
It rained last night.
The rain wasn’t heavy, only lasted part of the night, and the road dried by morning.
During the drive, the map voice broadcast continued almost every minute or two, providing updates on the upcoming road conditions, totaling more than half an hour’s drive.
They haven’t reached a third yet.
Gu Yuan glanced at her daughter beside her, who was in high spirits and able to play without snacks. As she lifted her gaze, she saw Chi Yu’s eyes in the rearview mirror, focused on driving with his eyelids slightly lowered, unaware that she was watching him.
She then looked out the car window, suddenly finding the surroundings familiar, but couldn’t immediately recall where it was.
Just as she was about to withdraw her gaze.
The car suddenly braked sharply.
Fortunately, Gu Yuan and Suisui were both wearing seatbelts, which prevented them from being jolted from their seats.
The fright nearly made Suisui burst into tears, her little hand reached over, clutching Gu Yuan’s clothes tightly, urgently shouting: "Mom, Mom, Mom, Mom..."
"It’s okay, Mom is here." Gu Yuan quickly reassured her daughter and then looked at the person driving: "What’s wrong, Chi Yu?"
No response to her voice.
Gu Yuan could only see Chi Yu occasionally closing his eyes through the rearview mirror, then opening them again, suddenly raising his hand to clutch his head, emitting painful groans.
Gu Yuan quickly unbuckled her seatbelt and got out of the car.
Worried the car hadn’t stopped properly and might slide backward, she first circled around to take Suisui out of the car.
Then she moved to the driver’s side window, which was lowered, allowing her to squat slightly and see Chi Yu’s agonized expression, even the color of his lips showed a hint of paleness, fingers clutching his head softly trembling.
He was in bad shape, in pain.
Gu Yuan opened the car door and held his face, asking anxiously: "Chi Yu, what’s wrong with you?"
"Are you suddenly feeling unwell somewhere, Chi Yu? Chi Yu?"
"Chi Yu, it’s me, Gu Yuan, look at me, answer me, what’s happening?"
Chi Yu’s expression was very painful.
As if he couldn’t hear her voice at all.
She had no idea what was wrong with Chi Yu, a sudden and unprovoked incident; everything changed abruptly.
Gu Yuan called Chi Yu’s name several times without getting any response.
She was anxious; in such an emergency, no one could help better than driving him to the hospital herself.
She turned off the engine, pressed down on the brake button, coaxing Chi Yu to cooperate with her, skillfully pulling him out of the car: "Chi Yu, come down..."
Chi Yu hadn’t lost all consciousness; after Gu Yuan helped him out of the driver’s seat, the burden of support wasn’t too heavy.
Suisui, standing nearby, didn’t understand what was happening, approached Gu Yuan, calling: "Mom, Mom, Mom..."
"Suisui, be good, get in from the other side."
"Mom, why does Chi Yu seem so uncomfortable?" Suisui’s gaze was also on Chi Yu, noticing his tightly knitted brow, an expression of discomfort; her classmate Shan had the same look when he had a stomachache.
"Yes, Chi Yu is unwell, so he’s uncomfortable. Suisui, climb into the car from the other side, I’ll come over to fasten your seatbelt."
"Okay."
Suisui obediently circled around the car, climbed up with her small legs, and settled onto the seat.
Gu Yuan placed Chi Yu in the back seat, swiftly pulling out her phone to call Qiu: "Get the hospital ready, give me half an hour."
Qiu was startled on the other end, but hearing President Gu’s calm voice, guessed it wasn’t her who’s injured: "Alright, President Gu, I’ll arrange it immediately. Do you need me to come over to assist?"
"No need, just make the arrangements."
"Understood."
After hanging up, Gu Yuan put away her phone, about to lean down to fasten Chi Yu’s seatbelt, but her wrist was caught by him.
Gu Yuan was pleasantly surprised, looking up at him: "Are you more awake?"
Facing his confused eyes, Gu Yuan thought he didn’t know what happened just now, was about to speak, but then heard his puzzled voice asking: "Yuanyuan, where is this?"
Gu Yuan was taken aback, answering him: "On the way back to Sui City."
"Back to Sui City?" He seemed very surprised.
Gu Yuan didn’t understand his reaction, weren’t they going back to Sui City? Yet his response seemed as if he didn’t know anything.
"Just now..." Her hand had barely reached his face when he suddenly grasped her wrist tightly.
She winced from the pain, looking at him in confusion.
