Three Towers Game
Chapter 1089 - 336: The Not-So-Beautiful Land of Illusions (Part 2)
Wen Xishu threw his heart to Huohua. Huohua held it and quickly felt the memory contained within.
"My little Charlie, he's really so pathetic! Why does everyone have to bully him!"
Wen Xishu said:
"Put away the emotions, we need to move forward."
Huohua said:
"There's nothing monstrous here, is there?"
Wen Xishu pondered:
"Passing through the Illusion Corridor itself counts as a dangerous encounter."
"Usually, after you pass through a dangerous area, there is a relatively safe zone where you can decipher things."
Wen Xishu picked Huohua up once more. As he had guessed, Anya had not yet appeared in this part of Charlie's past.
He decided to continue exploring.
The heart fell out of the pinned chart, unlocking the path ahead.
Exiting from the rear door of the classroom, it's a narrow corridor filled with "faceless beings."
Unlike the Illusion Corridor at the beginning, which symbolized emotion and desire.
This corridor, however, was filled with fear.
In this place, the faceless beings included not just girls, but also men, and even teachers holding teaching sticks.
They differed from the previous faceless beings, which had no features.
But here, each faceless being had a mouth.
The mouths weren't used for speech; they produced no sound.
But through the shape of the mouths, one could see each person's expression.
The boys' and girls' mouths wore smiles, mocking, prankish smiles.
While the teachers holding teaching tools all seemed very angry.
Their figures constantly changed positions.
Here were roughly a hundred faceless beings; they did not charge at Wen Xishu, but their positions kept shifting, and if Wen Xishu recklessly moved forward...
He could quite possibly accidentally bump into a suddenly appearing faceless being.
No doubt, once touched by these faceless beings... terrifying things would happen.
This time, Wen Xishu must figure out their position-changing pattern.
"Do you know what this means?"
"Grandpa Hua knows everything, but Grandpa Hua doesn't want to answer. Let me ask you, do you know what this means?" Huohua retorted defiantly.
Wen Xishu sighed:
"These people don't love Charlie; boys and girls see Charlie with mockery."
"Teachers see Charlie and directly express their dislike."
"And their constant position changes symbolize, in Charlie's cognition, their unpredictability."
"He doesn't know whether he might accidentally anger them."
"Doesn't know whether he might bring about ridicule from others due to something."
"He tries hard to avoid them, but in his school life, these people seem omnipresent, unavoidable."
"And once he encounters them, bad things always happen."
"Perhaps it's the teacher's call to his parents, making him unable to hold his head up in front of his father."
"Or it's the classmates' jeers, hurting his self-esteem."
"If I'm not mistaken, once we touch these people, bad things will happen too."
Huohua could no longer laugh.
Its eyes suddenly welled up with tears. It may be just a dog, but in the Obsession World, it possessed human language abilities and emotions.
At this moment, it began to feel sad for its life's only companion, Charlie.
Suddenly recalling, as a dog, it was like this as well.
It was a stray dog, sometimes having its tail cut off by some mischievous kid, sometimes meeting people walking their big dogs, and the big dogs barking at it.
Sometimes by the trash bins, encountering other fierce, determined stray dogs that would fight to the death.
Every time, it was very afraid.
Life was random, random with misfortune, it dared not foresee... what kind of suffering it might face.
But it was merely a dog, what it endured seemed entirely reasonable.
Yet Charlie was a noble person.
But his little master, as a human, lived so painfully in the human world.
Huohua fell silent. Inside it was grief and rage, once more filled with the impulse to bite those people to death.
And Wen Xishu was thinking... if he could make it to the Desire Tower, he must change Charlie's life.
Wen Xishu took a deep breath:
"I will use my shadow to forge the way, from here on, keep quiet."
Yes, when at a loss, summon the shadow.
Facing this corridor, Wen Xishu's first thought was to suspend with a rope... but there was no point of suspension.
Thus he could only summon the shadow, the shadow clearing the path.
The shadow quickly descended.
In just a moment, the shadow analyzed it, yet again proving a deathtrap.
Wen Xishu even saw the bullet screen above the shadow's head saying, "This idiot has placed me in such a situation again."
Showing his master a middle finger, it once again dashed into the corridor.
Soon, Wen Xishu detected the pattern; once the shadow stepped on a place, 0.5 seconds later, a random faceless being would appear there.
And ahead of the shadow, a faceless being would also definitely spawn simultaneously.
"Need constant abrupt turns."
The shadow was quickly embraced.
Once a faceless being embraced the shadow, the mocking mouth would emit laughter.
This laughter immediately made the shadow vanish.
Wen Xishu's expression was grave, touch means death.
"Touch and you're dead..."
"But I can't die again, otherwise my spirit will collapse."
"Need to slow down these faceless beings."
Once more, Wen Xishu took out the Scorpion Knife, without saying another word, repeated the operation from the clock tower before, and stabbed himself in the stomach again.
