Chapter 849 - 96: He Said, What, Afraid I’ll Take Advantage of You? (2)
Tang Yige took a deep breath, subconsciously trying to draw her hand back. 𝑓𝘳𝘦𝑒𝑤𝑒𝘣𝘯ℴ𝘷𝘦𝓁.𝑐𝑜𝑚
"Soup."
Si Nan stared at her and said.
Tang Yige’s hand paused, then she became quiet.
Si Nan placed the bowl of soup near her hand, "Careful."
"..." Tang Yige’s eyebrows moved quickly, then she held the bowl with both hands, slowly bringing it to her lips.
Si Nan watched her cautiously, as if afraid she couldn’t hold a bowl steadily.
Tang Yige slowly finished a small bowl of soup, after which Si Nan took the bowl from her hand and asked, "Are you full?"
This time, Tang Yige didn’t choose to ignore him, she nodded her head.
"Mm."
Si Nan stood up and cleaned up the leftovers from lunch on the long table, taking them out of the bedroom.
As the door closed, Tang Yige’s pale chin lowered slightly.
Then, she leaned gently against the side of the sofa.
Her stomach felt full, but her heart still felt empty.
...
Si Nan "served" Yige until she was full and came out, to find that at the dining table in the yard, apart from Rong Rui still fighting on, Geng Yi and Zhang Lan had already left the table.
Rong Rui’s small face was half-buried in his rice bowl as Si Nan walked over, and the little guy didn’t even glance at him.
Zhang Lan glanced at the two empty bowls in Si Nan’s hand.
She looked towards the bedroom, then went to the kitchen to grab a clean set of dishes and chopsticks, intending to give them to Si Nan.
Unexpectedly, when she came back, Si Nan had already served himself rice in one of the empty bowls and was elegantly sitting at the dining table eating.
Zhang Lan, "..."
She silently took the dishes and chopsticks back to the kitchen.
Geng Yi wanted a cigarette, but with Little Rui present, plus Si Nan and Rong Rui eating, he held back from smoking.
"There’s nothing more here, you should go back." Si Nan somehow noticed his restraint and spoke at the right time, his voice calm and cool.
Geng Yi thought about it and indeed felt there wasn’t much he could do staying around, so he said, "Then I’ll be off."
He then headed out of the courtyard.
As Geng Yi left, Rong Rui lifted his small face from the bowl to glimpse at Geng Yi’s back, "Goodbye, Uncle Geng!"
Geng Yi didn’t turn back, raising a hand and waving it behind.
Geng Yi walked out of the courtyard, and shortly after, the sound of a car engine started up and gradually faded away.
Rong Rui finished the last piece of rib on his plate and set his chopsticks down contentedly.
Mm.
Even though Si Nan was the last to sit at the table, Rong Rui was still the last to put down his bowl and chopsticks.
Si Nan looked at the little guy, his face flushed red from eating, the corners of his mouth lifted slightly. He reached for the soup bowl beside Rong Rui’s bowl, poured a small amount of soup and handed it to him, "Drink some soup."
Rong Rui touched his round belly, feeling like he couldn’t fit anything else.
But after smelling the soup, he wanted a sip.
Rong Rui hesitated silently for two seconds but couldn’t resist the temptation, he reached out with his chubby little hands to hold the soup bowl, slurping it down until the bowl was empty.
As soon as he placed the soup bowl on the table, he leaned back against the chair behind, touched his tight little belly, pursed his rosy lips, half-closed his big eyes, and lazily watched Si Nan, resembling a little boss.
Zhang Lan came over to clear the dishes, knocked lightly on his pale forehead.
Rong Rui let out an "ouch," and looked pitifully at Zhang Lan.
Zhang Lan laughed, carried the dishes to the kitchen.
After a short time, she came out again, holding a cloth, wiped the table clean, then returned to the kitchen to tidy up.
Si Nan got up and moved the table back to the main house.
Rong Rui looked at the few chairs in the courtyard, wondering if he should help out or something.
But, he just thought about it without actually moving.
...
Nearing ten o’clock, Rong Rui was ready for bed. Zhang Lan took him to his separate bedroom to bathe and wash up, and then dressed him in soft little dinosaur pajamas, carried him from the bathroom, and tucked him into bed.
She touched his forehead gently, "Good night," she said softly.
Rong Rui reached out his chubby little hand, grabbed onto one of Zhang Lan’s fingers, revealing a little pink and white face from underneath the dinosaur head, pursed his small lips, hesitantly asking, "What about him?"
"Who?" Zhang Lan raised her eyebrows, pretended not to know who the little guy was asking about.
Rong Rui threw Zhang Lan a playful little wink, "My dad."
Zhang Lan laughed and poked his nose, "You refuse to call him dad, but you’re still concerned about him?"
"I don’t care about him, I’m just asking." Rong Rui raised his chin, stubbornly.
"You little rascal, you keep up that stubborn talk, let’s see how long you can keep it up." Zhang Lan said helplessly.
Rong Rui pouted, his big eyes looking towards the door, "Has he already left?"
"Gone where?" Zhang Lan sat on the bed edge, looking at Rong Rui. "Your dad will definitely stay here with us, otherwise why would he have brought us over?"
