Chapter 122: Chapter 122: Buying Flowers

"Flowers... We need to buy flowers..." Jiang Zheyu hurriedly pushed Su Yan away, turning her head to the side. Her cheeks were bright red, and the corners of her eyes glistened with unshed tears.

’If this keeps up, we won’t even need to buy flowers!’

"Mm," Su Yan chuckled lightly. "Alright."

He reached out to help Jiang Zheyu straighten her white dress. His red eyes swirled with a dark, intoxicating light as he smoothed out every last wrinkle.

The two of them stepped out of the Hovercar, their clothes perfectly in order, as if nothing had just happened.

The atmosphere between Jiang Zheyu and Su Yan seemed to be colored with the warm hues of intoxicating bliss.

"What a coincidence!" a lazy voice called out, shattering the mood.

Feng Qi was dressed in his usual black military uniform, his long black boots making a solid sound as they hit the ground. He walked over, greeting Jiang Zheyu with a wide grin. "Jiang Yuyu, heading to the flower shop? I just happen to be passing by. Mind if I join you?"

"We’re planning to buy some flowers," Jiang Zheyu said, giving Feng Qi a helpless smile.

"Browsing the flower shop isn’t really the point. The point is that I want to browse *with you*." Feng Qi’s dark eyes landed on her, a brilliant smile in them that made his intentions perfectly clear.

"Doesn’t Captain Feng have patrols today?" Su Yan’s voice was flat as he looked at Feng Qi, his gaze devoid of emotion.

"I’m slacking off a bit." Feng Qi arched an eyebrow. Ignoring Su Yan’s icy glare, he leaned closer to Jiang Yuyu with a faint smile. "And sneaking in a date with you."

Su Yan’s brows knitted slightly. He reached out, grabbed Feng Qi by the collar, and yanked him back.

"If you have something to say, then say it. There’s no need to get so close. Yu Yu isn’t hard of hearing," Su Yan’s voice fell, cold as steel.

"I was just sharing a secret with Jiang Yuyu. Commander Su, you shouldn’t be so nosy." Feng Qi brushed Su Yan’s arm away with a smile that didn’t reach his eyes.

"Yu Yu and I are as one. What secrets could there be that I’m not allowed to hear?" Su Yan retorted, his own smile just as fake.

The moment their gazes met, sparks flew between them.

"I’m going in." Jiang Zheyu pressed a hand to her forehead and quickly headed inside first.

Feng Qi immediately followed her. "Jiang Yuyu, do you remember what you promised me last time?"

"I remember. When are you free? I can help you heal your spiritual power," Jiang Zheyu said, glancing at Feng Qi, who had caught up to her.

"I’m free all day today." Feng Qi’s face was as fair as jade, a striking contrast to his black hair and black eyes. The stark difference gave him a sharp, clean-cut handsomeness, and his smile was refreshingly attractive.

He moved to Jiang Zheyu’s side and leaned down, tilting his head just so, allowing her to meet his gaze directly. He looked like a perfectly trained pet.

"In that case, why don’t you come with me to the Imperial Palace tonight? I can help heal your spiritual power then. How does that sound?" Jiang Zheyu turned her head, her dark hair gently brushing against Feng Qi’s cheek.

Feng Qi caught the cool, pleasant scent of Jiang Zheyu’s hair. A surge of emotion flickered in his dark eyes, but he quickly concealed it.

"Mm, okay," Feng Qi replied softly. "Does that include a place to stay for the night?"

"Of course," Jiang Zheyu smiled. The Imperial Palace was huge, after all, and her own palace was especially large. There was enough room to house dozens of people without a problem.

"Great. It’s a deal," Feng Qi said, arching an eyebrow.

’An impulse surged through him. ’I really want to smell Jiang Yuyu’s hair again... and her scent.’

However, Feng Qi managed to restrain the fluttering in his heart.

When Su Yan heard that his Yu Yu was going to help Feng Qi heal his spiritual power, he didn’t interject.

He had experienced the pain of unstable spiritual power himself. He couldn’t imagine how many times Feng Qi must have gone through it over the years. Behind all that honor, there were always scars.

So, Su Yan wouldn’t object to Yu Yu helping Feng Qi heal his damaged spiritual power.

"Miss Jiang!" a voice called out from ahead.

Jiang Zheyu stopped and turned to look at the man in front of her.

"It’s been a long time." Zexun’s radiant, passionate red eyes rested gently upon her.

His attire was as conspicuous as ever: a pink suit, a large bouquet of pink roses cradled in his right arm, and his left hand tucked into his pants pocket.

His gorgeous, stunning face seemed to make his surroundings pale in comparison.

His beauty was so vivid it was almost aggressive.

Yet, those radiant red eyes were filled with a gentle, ardent passion.

Jiang Zheyu was rather surprised. She hadn’t expected to run into Zexun here.

"As the Chief Judge of the Empire, finding out where you are is not difficult. I hope this doesn’t trouble you. Please, try to understand the heart of a man tormented by longing. I wanted to see you, so I waited for you here." Zexun slowly approached, bowing in a gentlemanly fashion as he offered the bouquet of pink roses to Jiang Zheyu. "Miss Jiang, welcome back."

Jiang Zheyu felt that Zexun’s advances were never overly intense, yet they were incredibly persistent. It wasn’t off-putting at all. On the contrary, it felt remarkably comfortable, even pleasant.

Behind the man was a vast field of pink roses. 𝑓𝑟𝑒𝘦𝓌𝑒𝑏𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝘭.𝒸𝘰𝑚

’He was the most vibrant pink rose of them all.’

’The man had always worn red suits before. As a red Nine-tailed Fox, he loved the color red.’

’But now, because I like pink roses, he’s wearing a pink suit. For a moment, he seems even more brilliantly pink than the roses themselves... and this posture really looks like a proposal.’

The way he offered the pink roses, with his gaze lowered in a slight bow, seemed both precious and exceedingly polite.

Jiang Zheyu’s heart skipped a beat.

Beside her, Su Yan’s eyelid twitched violently. ’So all those withered roses were from him. When on earth did this person worm his way into my Yu Yu’s life?’ A wave of jealousy washed over him.

Su Yan remembered the dazed look on Yu Yu’s face as she’d stared at those withered roses, and his sense of alarm skyrocketed.

On the other side, Feng Qi’s own eyelid was twitching. ’Where did this Wild Beastman come from? How dare he cut in front of me and flash that seductive smile at Jiang Yuyu! Doesn’t he understand the concept of first come, first served?’

Looking at the bouquet of pink roses he offered, Jiang Zheyu’s mood felt just as bright and tender as the flowers themselves.

She reached out and accepted the pink roses. "Thank you."

Jiang Zheyu blinked. "You knew I was captured by the Star Thieves?"

"Yes. I sent you many messages, and when you didn’t reply, I sensed something was wrong. I started making inquiries through my contacts." Zexun’s warm, passionate red eyes gazed at her as he calmly recounted the events. "I was devastated when I heard that you had been captured, Miss Jiang. But everyone has their own specialty, and I am not skilled in Mecha reconnaissance. The only thing I could do was invest more money into the Imperial Army, hoping they could bring you back. Fortunately, you have returned, safe and sound."
