When Jiang Zheyu left the White Tower, she saw Jiang Yi waiting outside for her, holding a bag.

"Hey, how long have you been waiting here?" Jiang Zheyu looked at Jiang Yi, a little surprised.

"Not long." Jiang Yi just gave a faint smile and handed the forest cake in his hand to Jiang Zheyu. "Are you hungry? Go ahead and eat. It’s forest cake."

Jiang Zheyu casually took the forest cake from Jiang Yi, and the two walked back to the palace where she was staying, shoulder to shoulder.

She opened the bag and saw that it really was forest cake.

Jiang Zheyu’s expression faltered for a moment. Forest cakes were usually sold out in the morning. ’Is it not popular anymore? That can’t be right.’

"Did you threaten the bakery owner?" Jiang Zheyu joked, looking at Jiang Yi. "I remember these cakes sell out in the morning. They should have been gone by the time you went."

"Yes, I threatened him." Jiang Yi just curled his lips into a gentle smile, his gaze doting as he looked down at her. "That’s why I was able to bring a forest cake back today."

Having just purified so many Beastmen, Jiang Zheyu was indeed a little exhausted. Taking a bite of the sweet cake, she instantly felt her energy replenished, and her mood brightened.

She didn’t take what Jiang Yi said about threatening him to heart, assuming he was just joking with her. ’He probably found the bakery owner and used some method to convince him to make another cake.’

"Not bad." Jiang Zheyu played along with a smile. "The cake is delicious. It’s so sweet it’s brightened my whole day."

She was telling the truth; she really did feel much happier now.

Jiang Yi just smiled faintly without explaining. The threat, of course, was real, though he did end up paying double.

"When you went to the shop today, did you see any new products?" Jiang Zheyu actually had something else she was more concerned about.

’With the recipes I sent over, and given the bakery owner’s insight and skill, he should be able to open a proper restaurant.’

"I didn’t see any new products." Jiang Yi was telling the truth. Other than the forest cake, there were no other cakes on display in the bakery.

Jiang Zheyu wasn’t disappointed by this answer. After all, it had only been a day. It was impossible for new products to appear so quickly.

She was probably just a bit too eager, wanting to eat the foods she missed from her past, which was why she’d sent Jiang Yi to check so soon.

’I’ll wait a few more days before I have Jiang Yi go check again.’

"I see," Jiang Zheyu responded casually.

It was that familiar time again—the middle of the night.

Jiang Zheyu was numb to it. These Star Thieves had kept her from getting any sleep for several nights now.

Though, in reality, it had only been two nights.

She even found herself thinking, ’Why don’t they all just come at once? I could catch them all in one fell swoop.’

Of course, Jiang Zheyu was just thinking.

As she was thinking, she started to feel increasingly dizzy, with a growing urge to fall asleep.

Just before passing out, Jiang Zheyu snapped to her senses. She quickly bought an Awakening Agent from the system. After having the system apply it to her brain, her drowsy mind instantly cleared.

She snapped her eyes open to see a pocket watch swinging back and forth above her.

A man’s gentle, intimate voice sounded beside her ear, making one want to obey his words. "Slowly, watch the watch. You’re very sleepy now. You want to sleep. Go ahead and have a good sleep, good girl."

Jiang Zheyu: ...

Jiang Zheyu did as she was told and watched the swinging pocket watch.

However, thanks to the Awakening Agent she’d bought from the system, her mind was completely clear. She wasn’t the least bit sleepy, nor did she have any desire to sleep.

Although she had subconsciously followed his voice’s command with her actions, her mind remained perfectly lucid.

The next second, Jiang Zheyu unleashed her spiritual power, and her fingers shot out to snatch the pocket watch as it was about to fall.

The man beside her had already collapsed onto her bed.

Jiang Zheyu opened her hand and looked at the pocket watch resting in her palm.

She knew which Star Thief had come for her tonight.

It was Gu Sui.

A Star Thief skilled in hypnosis, a master of making empty promises and psychological manipulation, who always wore a gentle smile but was, in reality, malicious and dark-hearted.

Jiang Zheyu hadn’t expected this. She had just been talking about him with the Little Princess of the Empire this morning, and here he was tonight, trying to capture her.

Thankfully, she had snapped out of it just before completely passing out, remembering that the novel’s heroine had been knocked unconscious by his colorless, odorless smoke.

"Jiang Yi, come take this Star Thief away." Jiang Zheyu called her new butler on her Light Brain.

In fact, she had already instructed Jiang Yi not to stop Star Thieves from entering her room, nor to help her capture them.

She only asked Jiang Yi to rescue her if she was taken out of the room.

It was a fail-safe, just in case she failed to capture a Star Thief herself.

She had given these instructions before tonight, after Jiang Yi had proposed standing guard by her bed to protect her.

How could she possibly sleep with a grown man like Jiang Yi standing by her bed? Besides, the Star Thieves would be more vigilant, which would reduce the chances of catching them.

Otherwise, she wouldn’t have given such orders.

Jiang Yi quickly arrived with the Guard Captain.

The Guard Captain seized Gu Sui, who was collapsed by the bed, and confirmed that it was indeed him.

His eyes instantly lit up, and his gaze toward Jiang Zheyu was filled with admiration. "Your Highness, Princess Zheyu, you are truly amazing."

"It was nothing." Jiang Zheyu gave a faint smile. ’I’m amazing, alright, but it’s costing me my sleep.’ "You may all leave. I’m going back to sleep."

The Guard Captain immediately dragged the man away.

Jiang Yi, however, didn’t leave right away. He knelt gently by the bed, looking up at Jiang Zheyu as she sat there, and took her hand intimately in his. "Princess Yu Yu, you look a little tired. I’ve learned some massage techniques. Would you like me to give you a massage?"

"Alright, you can try." Jiang Zheyu also felt that her nerves were subtly on edge.

It was mainly because she was anxiously waiting for a Star Thief to show up every night, so naturally, her nerves were frayed.

"Please lie down." Jiang Yi stood up.

Jiang Zheyu lay down, not noticing anything unusual about the way Jiang Yi had held her hand.

She had no chance to notice, really, because as Jiang Yi stood up, he let go of her hand, moved to the head of the bed, and placed the pads of his fingers on her temples, beginning to rub them gently and slowly.

Before closing her eyes, Jiang Zheyu noticed the man’s gentle and beautiful pink phoenix eyes looking at her, full of adoration and tenderness.

But she quickly pushed these thoughts to the back of her mind. Jiang Yi’s technique was truly excellent. Her tense nerves slowly relaxed, and she gradually drifted off to sleep.
