Top-Tier Female, All Beastmen Want Her
Chapter 157: Madness
’Why did my rescue window suddenly become two hours?’
’Twenty-four hours and two hours... that’s a huge difference.’
’The Imperial Army spent over three hours searching for the female lead before, and now they’re only giving me two? Don’t they just want me dead?’
Jiang Zheyu’s hazel eyes widened slightly.
Gu Yao saw her eyes widen. Those hazel eyes seemed to speak, filled with accusation and disbelief.
As if he could read her mind, he smiled, his lips curling slightly. "Mm, you heard me right. You only have two hours."
Jiang Zheyu: ...
She fell silent for a moment before lowering her head and her gaze. ’Right now, neither of these two are in their own bodies—their Beastman forms.’
’They’re using Biorobot bodies, connected to them via spiritual power. That’s why my spiritual power has no effect on Biorobots. And that means my spiritual power is useless against these two right now.’
’If there were any Beastmen around, I could control them to save myself. But I’m stuck in this sealed Hovercar with only two Biorobots, and my spiritual power is useless against them.’
’Is there any way to incapacitate a Biorobot?’
"Hey, are you curious why your spiritual power doesn’t work on me?" Gu Yao, seemingly bored out of his mind, kept trying to chat with Jiang Zheyu.
Of course, it was a one-sided conversation. Jiang Zheyu continued to play mute.
Hearing Gu Yao’s question now, the corner of her mouth twitched. ’Of course I’m not curious. I already know my spiritual power is useless against you because you’re using Biorobot bodies linked by spiritual power.’
Jiang Zheyu didn’t answer him, so he answered his own question.
"It’s because this body is a Biorobot. Look at it—made in my exact image. Isn’t it just gorgeous?" Gu Yao beamed at Jiang Zheyu, then deliberately dragged a knife across his own face. A moment later, he let out a sharp hiss of pain. "This is my first time using a Biorobot body. So a spiritual link makes you feel real pain, huh?"
Bright red blood trickled down Gu Yao’s face, a face that was somewhere between a delicate youth and a young man. The drops ran along his pale jawline and dripped onto his rose-tattooed collarbone, a vibrant, decadent splash of color.
He excitedly smeared the blood on his face, staining his hand red. His smile was tinged with madness. "Ha, it can even imitate blood!"
He looked like someone who had never spiritually linked with a Biorobot before.
Watching him, Jiang Zheyu felt like she was looking at a psychopath.
’He’s so sick.’
’As expected, the actions of a psychopath like him were beyond the comprehension of a normal person like her.’
"Ah, don’t you think it’s beautiful, too?" Gu Yao suddenly thrust his blood-soaked hand in front of Jiang Zheyu’s face.
It was so sudden and unexpected that Jiang Zheyu’s heart leaped into her throat. She was startled.
’The guy’s a complete lunatic.’
Although she knew the blood on Gu Yao’s hand was fake, imitated by the Biorobot, it looked so real that it was hard to tell the difference. And Gu Yao’s deranged expression only made the blood on his hand seem all the more authentic.
Gu Yao’s gaze suddenly fixed on her, the crazed look on his face vanishing in an instant, replaced by a cold indifference.
Jiang Zheyu silently swallowed. ’His expression changes way too fast. He’s as unpredictable as a summer storm—pouring one minute, sunny the next.’
’Why is he suddenly staring at me like that?’
Jiang Zheyu’s heart began to pound nervously.
"You’re so beautiful." Gu Yao slowly caressed Jiang Zheyu’s cheek with his hand, which was stained with the Biorobot’s fake blood. He leaned in close and let out a soft laugh, a sound like that of a bright, cheerful teenager. "Let me paint a red rose on your cheek."
’How can someone laugh with such boyish charm when their soul is already so twisted and sick?’
Jiang Zheyu couldn’t understand it as Gu Yao smeared the Biorobot blood all over her right cheek.
She didn’t dare move.
’She really wanted to tell him that if he was going to have a psychotic episode, he could please do it somewhere else and not on her.’
’Unfortunately, she didn’t dare reveal that she could actually speak.’
The cool fingers, slick with blood, smeared across her right cheek, leaving a sticky, damp chill.
Jiang Zheyu swallowed, trying to reassure herself. ’It’s not real human blood on my face, just Biorobot blood. Don’t be scared, don’t be scared.’
She truly wanted to cry but had no tears left.
She had been racking her brain, trying to figure out how to deal with the Biorobots. But with Gu Yao beside her, spouting all sorts of crazy nonsense, suddenly cutting his own face, leaning in close, and now getting handsy with her, all her thoughts had been shattered. Now, there was only numbness.
"Look, isn’t it beautiful?" Gu Yao produced a mirror from somewhere and held it in front of Jiang Zheyu.
Jiang Zheyu instinctively looked at the mirror. Sure enough, a red rose had been painted on her right cheek. It looked strikingly real. The contrast between the red Biorobot blood and her pale skin, along with the thick consistency of the fake blood, had been used to sketch a remarkably lifelike red rose.
’Psychos really do have some strange talents.’
But a second later, Gu Yao’s brow, pierced with a row of studs, furrowed slightly. "It’s a shame this blood isn’t red enough, not vibrant enough."
Hearing this, Jiang Zheyu’s heart suddenly started to pound wildly again.
"How about I cut your skin open and let your blood flow? It would surely be even more beautiful then." The dagger in Gu Yao’s hand slowly descended toward Jiang Zheyu’s face. "It’ll become a true, blood-red rose!"
While Gu Yao was having his fit, Gu Han remained on the other side, utterly indifferent and saying nothing.
The cold dagger pressed against Jiang Zheyu’s face.
Jiang Zheyu’s mind raced frantically. ’What can incapacitate a Biorobot? Think, brain, think!’
’Right, right, an electric shock! A shock! If I can fry all his circuits, the Biorobot will be immobilized.’
’If the Biorobot is disabled, I can be saved.’
Jiang Zheyu instantly purchased an electric baton from the System Mall.
But before she could use it, just as Gu Yao’s knife was about to fall, the entire Hovercar was plunged into darkness. Jiang Zheyu seized the opportunity, swinging the electric baton and shoving him to the side.
