Top-Tier Female, All Beastmen Want Her
Chapter 69: Danger Averted
Stars dotted the inky sky like specks of fluorescent light.
Jiang Zheyu clutched her black cloak and walked out slowly. She didn’t get close, however. After just a few steps, she began to expand her Spiritual Domain!
If her Spiritual Domain could reach them, she could launch a spiritual attack!
Jiang Zheyu focused her mind. A spiritual attack instantly pierced the Beastman who was stepping on Yin Si’s abdomen. The Beastman had a barrier raised in his Spiritual Domain Space, but caught off guard by Jiang Zheyu’s S-level spiritual power, his head was wracked with such intense pain that his world blurred.
The Beastman suddenly staggered and collapsed to the ground.
This attack put the other Beastmen on high alert.
As a result, Jiang Zheyu’s next attack only managed to make its target dazed for a moment.
After all, they had A++ spiritual power. Making a conscious effort to defend themselves was effective.
Since she couldn’t take down all the Beastmen with a single spiritual attack, Jiang Zheyu’s figure was exposed to the others’ gazes.
The men shot her vicious looks and charged at her.
Jiang Zheyu’s heart trembled, and she instinctively took a step back.
But then she remembered the child by the fork in the road behind her.
Her retreating foot froze.
’So what if one attack isn’t enough? I’ll just have to do it a few more times.’
Jiang Zheyu rushed toward the Beastmen. She couldn’t retreat and let them discover the child.
Seeing her charge, the men became even more convinced that this person in black was with the guy on the ground. Their expressions grew fiercer as they clenched their fists and went for Jiang Zheyu.
The girl darted forward like a butterfly. The man in the lead met her with a vicious roundhouse kick.
Her heart pounded in her chest. With an agile and flexible movement, she bent low and slid right under the man’s kick. She launched a spiritual attack at him, and just as she’d hoped, he grew dazed and staggered, unable to continue his assault on her.
The other men closed in, attacking her as well.
She didn’t know how to fight, but she knew how to dodge and run!
So when a sharp fist flew at her, her graceful, agile body spun to the side, hugging the man’s arm to evade the blow. A spiritual attack followed in its wake.
She bent backward to dodge. She did the splits to dodge. She was running out of ways to dodge!
However, her spiritual attacks had slowed their movements considerably.
Like a butterfly, the girl narrowly slipped through the men’s encirclement.
One of the men lunged for her. As she sprinted forward, he grabbed her black, hooded cloak. She immediately shrugged it off. Besides, she was wearing a loose black tracksuit and a mask underneath; she wasn’t afraid of her cover being blown.
This short Beastman really didn’t seem like a man.
Jiang Zheyu ran ahead, and after shaking off their dizziness, the Beastmen gave chase.
The Beastmen were incredibly fast, and they quickly caught up to Jiang Zheyu. A man’s arm reached for hers. She launched a spiritual attack, and the Beastman faltered for an instant. At that exact moment, a cold, blood-slicked hand grabbed her wrist from behind and yanked her back. A gust of wind carrying the stench of blood rushed past her nose. Yin Si had moved in front of her. He swung a long leg up and brutally slammed it down on the man’s neck, throwing him to the ground.
"Work with me." Yin Si’s voice, raspy and laced with blood, sounded above Jiang Zheyu’s head, carrying a chilling ruthlessness.
Jiang Zheyu quickly nodded.
And so, they worked together. Jiang Zheyu just needed to continuously output her spiritual power to daze the Beastmen, and Yin Si could quickly take them down.
With the two of them cooperating, it wasn’t long before all the Beastmen were lying on the ground, beaten and bloody, unable to get up.
While attacking the Beastmen with her spiritual power, Jiang Zheyu had also suffered from their spiritual counterattacks. She had raised a spiritual barrier early on, but after the constant, tense cycle of attacking and defending, her mind began to feel fuzzy.
This felt completely different from healing a Beastman. It was more like she was about to pass out from blood loss to the brain. 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖
Yin Si released his grip on Jiang Zheyu’s waist. His body swayed violently, and he only managed to keep from falling by slamming into a nearby wall.
Jiang Zheyu stood where she was, trying to ease the dizziness in her head.
The little boy had appeared beside her. He was holding the black, hooded cloak that had been torn from her, presenting it to Jiang Zheyu with both hands.
Jiang Zheyu shook her head to clear the dizziness. Seeing the cloak the little boy was offering, she reached out and took it. "Thanks."
Her voice was still androgynous.
The little boy looked up at her but didn’t say anything.
"Earlier, thank you." Yin Si had recovered slightly. He dragged his battered body to a standing position behind the little boy and looked at Jiang Zheyu.
Jiang Zheyu paused for a moment before slowly putting the cloak back on and pulling up the hood. "It was nothing."
Through his blood-caked eyes, Yin Si could only see the Beastman’s beautiful hair being covered by the black hood. Moreover, this Beastman’s hair and clothes carried a pleasant, clean scent.
’Probably a Beastman from one of the more delicate beast-types,’ he thought.
Thanks to Jiang Zheyu’s S-level spiritual power, it never even occurred to Yin Si that she might be a female.
"You don’t know how to fight?" His pair of purple-gold, quicksand-like eyes gazed at Jiang Zheyu, their expression unreadable.
Though it was a question, his tone was certain.
He had clearly seen this person leave earlier, not wanting to get involved. He didn’t know why they had turned back.
Jiang Zheyu really didn’t know how to fight. She had never been in a fight before.
She saw that the young man’s face was covered in blood and one of his arms hung limply at his side as if broken. She said quietly, "I’ll be going now."
’He should hurry up and take care of his wounds, not ask me questions.’
"COUGH, COUGH... Wait." Yin Si forced the words out. Just from that small cough, blood threatened to surge up from his throat. He swallowed it down with difficulty, his purple-gold eyes fixed on Jiang Zheyu. "I don’t like being indebted to people."
’This guy can barely protect himself right now,’ Jiang Zheyu thought. ’It seems he was working for free at the Night Club, and he’s completely broke. If he doesn’t want to owe me, what could he possibly give me?’
She thought about her still-pending friend request to the person in front of her.
"Two million," Jiang Zheyu said slowly.
As expected, Yin Si’s brow furrowed slightly.
’Her demand was actually a ploy to force him to accept her compensation. Just like with the other Beastmen, he didn’t have to forgive her, but he had to let her pay him back handsomely.’
’And she was more than willing to bleed the money.’
"Let’s add each other on the Light Brain." Yin Si lowered his gaze slightly, easily accepting Jiang Zheyu’s demand, as if a transactional relationship was the most stable and reassuring kind. He calmly stated his current poverty, "I don’t have the money right now. I’ll pay you back when I do."
As he spoke, he began to operate his Light Brain.
’But I only have one Light Brain,’ Jiang Zheyu thought. ’And it’s registered under my real name.’
"No need to add me. This is my account number." Jiang Zheyu projected the payment account information. "Just transfer the money when you have it."
Yin Si’s movements paused, but he didn’t object. "Fine."
