Chapter 1160: Chapter 1160 Miracle from the Great Spirit of Nature

Marcus decided to ask Forlorieous why they did not get involved in stopping the fight.

Part of a great spirit’s duties was to keep high level entities from causing massive damage to the world.

"Well, the battle certainly was flashy from the parts that I saw of it. Perhaps if you were rampaging around some nation’s cpatial, I might have intervened directly. But there’s really no one around here. This is the middle of the wildness. Though, if you must know, I did put up a barrier to contain the damage. So, none of the nearby settlements were affected."

Forlorieous could tell what was on Marcus’ mind and made sure to ease any worries about collateral damage.

Some plants, beasts, and monsters had ended up destroyed, but in the grand scheme of things, the destruction was honestly kept to a minimum considering the level those involved in the battle.

"I see. Thanks for that. I suppose that everything worked out in the end. I feel a bit bad for Tralenstein, though. This is part of their territory." Marcus said, frowning as he looked at the marred landscape.

"Yes, it is a bit dour now. Normally, I would leave this work to those witches instead. But they’re occupied with something else right now and I doubt they’ll be along anytime soon."

With the clap of her hands, Forlorieous sent out a wave of mana from her body.

It was warm and filled with life. Just being in the presence of the energy made Marcus feel invigorated despite his current exhaustion and stat penalty from using Soul Burst.

As if a miracle had occurred, hundreds of thousands of plants began springing up from the charred and broke ground.

At first, they were just buds, but soon beautiful flowers sprung up all around them.

Bushes came next, followed by towering trees.

Soon a massive forest had fully formed throughout the previously destroyed area. And at the center of it, the massive hole in the ground that led into the molten sea of the Darklands had been sealed at the bottom and filled with water to become a dazzling lake.

Both Marcus and Lyra could only stare at their surroundings in stunned silence.

One moment they were in a barren wasteland, and the next a forest full of life had fully grown in just a few minutes.

"Whew, that took a lot out of me." Forlorieous said, looking a bit tired but also satisfied.

Even for the Great Spirit of Nature, creating an entire forest out of nothing but their own energy was difficult.

Still, the fact that Forlorieous was capable of such a feat in the first place just hammered home exactly how powerful a truly realized great spirit was.

’I’m a Supreme spirit now, but I still feel like there’s an unfathomable gap between me and the great spirits. Will I really be capable of something like this once I reach a higher level?’

Marcus felt himself in adequate compared to Forlorieous.

He was a higher form of spirit, yet his powers still did not compare. It seemed almost impossible for him to close the gap even if he leveled up more.

"Don’t worry, you’ll be capable of much more than I am once you reach the true heights of this world. I’m at level ninety-nine and have been given special authority by the Administrator that you do not have access to yet. Also, I can tell that what’s really holding you back right now is your own imagination. Your powers are much freer than you realize."

"What do you mean by that?" Marcus asked, confused but craving for more knowledge.

Forlorieous no doubt knew much more about this world than he even realized.

There were many questions and theories he would like to talk about if possible.

Of course, it was not going to be that easy.

While Forlorieous had a soft spot for Marcus, she had already overstepped her bounds a bit.

"I’m afraid that any deeper explanation will have to wait until you’re stronger than I am. Though, by that point, I’m sure you’ll have figured things out on your own. Now, I have to go. I’ve already meddled a bit too much here. I don’t want the good administrator to get mad at me."

With those parting words, Forlorieous vanished in a puff of dandelion seeds that fluttered away in the wind.

"That was certainly something that you don’t see every day." Lyra said, breaking the silence.

Marcus nodded his head in agreement.

After fighting a deathmatch with a Dragon, an appearance from a great spirit had not been something he was expecting.

Nevertheless, thanks to Forlorieous’ intervention, Quillon and Roxene had both been healed and neither one of them was in any danger of dying now.

The two of them were unconscious, however.

Having just recovered from a truly treacherous fight. They were understandably exhausted.

"I believe that we have time to rest here. Forlorieous’ presence probably scared off anyone coming to investigate. And now that this forest is here, I can feel the barrier that she set up. It seems to still be there. I think that she left it as a parting gift for us."

Lyra looked relieved that they did not need to push themselves to get moving right away.

Originally, they would have needed to vacate the area before any other powerful forces showed up.

Fortunately, now, they had a bit of a reprieve to recollect themselves.

"I’ll keep watch over everything. Why don’t you get some sleep." Marcus said, easily able to tell how exhausted Lyra was.

"Thanks. I’ll take you up on that offer."

Without any objections, Lyra collapsed onto the ground without so much as pulling out a blanket to lay on.

The fresh grass was already very soft, and she grabbed her tails up and used them as pillows.

Seeing a golden furred fox girl sleeping in the middle of a forest had mystical air to it.

’I wish I had a camera to take a picture with. Maybe I could make a magic tool equivalent.’

Sitting down, Marcus let the tension finally leave his body. He did not need sleep like the others, so he just let his mind wander until the charges for his Ultimate Refresh skill had replenished.
