Unrivaled Soldier in the City
Chapter 531: Apologizing Foolishly
Hearing this, Guo Dean froze. Me? Should I go? Do I dare? I’d just be asking for a beating!
He glanced at his two bodyguards and figured they would get beaten up, too. It would be more humiliating for them to go than to do nothing at all. Seeing no other choice, Guo Dean decided he had to resort to legal measures.
"Fine! You’re not going to give me an explanation, are you? In that case, we’ll call the police and let them sort this out!" Guo Dean said, his face twisting into an ugly expression.
"Sure, go ahead and call. The police have to be reasonable, right?" Zhantai Mingyue replied without a hint of worry.
A cold sneer crept onto Guo Dean’s face. She’s so naive. Does she really think the police will help her? With my connections, she’ll be the one in trouble when they get here.
Just then, Lin Kuang frowned. It wasn’t that he was worried about the police, but dealing with them would be a hassle and waste a significant amount of time. There are better things to do than waste time here.
With that thought, Lin Kuang looked at Guo Dean and said flatly, "I advise you not to make that call."
Guo Dean was taken aback. His attention had been so fixed on Zhantai Mingyue that he hadn’t paid any mind to Lin Kuang. It was only now, as Lin Kuang spoke, that he finally noticed him.
Guo Dean was about to retort, but when he saw Lin Kuang’s face, he was stunned speechless. He just stared blankly, his eyes flickering with disbelief.
"You... you’re Lin Kuang? Young Master Lin?" Guo Dean stammered, mustering his courage.
"Indeed. I am Lin Kuang," he replied calmly, looking right at Guo Dean.
Upon hearing this confirmation, the expensive phone in Guo Dean’s hand slipped and clattered to the floor. He began gulping audibly. Guo Dean was well aware that while few people in Yanjing dared to cross him, Lin Kuang was definitely not one of them. He was not someone Guo Dean could ever hope to handle.
"Lin... Young Master Lin, my apologies. I-I didn’t know it was you. This whole thing... it’s just a terrible misunderstanding," Guo Dean said as he hurried over. He didn’t just walk; he practically scrambled.
"Weren’t you just demanding an explanation from Mingyue?" Lin Kuang asked with a faint smile.
Guo Dean’s face turned pale. If I’d known it was you, I wouldn’t have wanted a damned explanation!
"A misunderstanding, Young Master Lin! It’s all a misunderstanding!" he pleaded, then spun around and roared, "Guo Ziming, get your ass over here!"
Guo Ziming was completely bewildered. He had assumed his father’s arrival would easily solve the problem, but it was clear that wasn’t the case. He hesitantly shuffled forward.
"Apologize! Apologize to Young Master Lin and this lady!" Guo Dean commanded, his expression grim.
"What? Apologize? Dad, are you serious?" Guo Ziming asked incredulously. He had been beaten up—not once, but twice! And now he had to apologize? This is completely outrageous!
"Damn it, I told you to apologize!" Guo Dean bellowed, striking his son across the face with a vicious slap.
Guo Ziming’s face was already a bloody mess from two previous beatings. His father’s slap was the final blow, leaving him utterly dazed.
"Dad, you... you hit me?" he asked in disbelief. Guo Dean had never laid a hand on him in his entire life, let alone in front of so many people.
Guo Dean ground his teeth in fury. How did I raise such an idiot? Can’t you see I’m humbling myself? If he wasn’t such a big shot, do you think I’d be acting like this?
Seeing the rage on his father’s face, something finally clicked for Guo Ziming. He turned to Lin Kuang and Zhantai Mingyue and muttered begrudgingly, "Lin... Young Master Lin, I’m sorry. And to you, miss, I’m sorry."
Guo Dean let out a quiet sigh of relief. At least the boy isn’t completely brainless.
"Young Master Lin, please deal with him as you see fit," Guo Dean said cautiously. "As long as you don’t cripple him, he is at your disposal."
Lin Kuang snorted. "Forget it. Just teach your son a lesson. Tell him not to be so arrogant, especially when he runs into people he can’t afford to provoke!"
With that, Lin Kuang took Zhantai Mingyue’s hand and walked away, not giving the father and son another glance.
Seeing that Lin Kuang wasn’t going to press the matter, Guo Dean breathed a heavy sigh of relief. "Thank goodness. A major disaster was averted."
Once Lin Kuang and Zhantai Mingyue were out of earshot, Guo Ziming asked, feeling wronged, "Dad, what was all that about?"
"What was that about? Damn it, do you have any idea who you just provoked? That’s Lin Kuang, from the Lin Family of Yanjing! You’re lucky he didn’t cripple you!" Guo Dean roared.
Hearing this, Guo Ziming froze. He wasn’t a fool; he knew about the major figures in Yanjing. He just never imagined he would cross paths with someone as formidable as Lin Kuang. Thinking back on what had just happened, a cold sweat broke out on his back. Thank God I didn’t take it too far, or I’d really be finished today!
By this time, Lin Kuang had already led Zhantai Mingyue out of the mall. He didn’t hear what the Guo father and son said, nor did he care to.
"Mingyue, shall we go home?" Lin Kuang asked with a smile as he loaded bag after bag into the car.
"Sure... but I still want to have some more fun," Zhantai Mingyue said, putting on a pitiful expression.
Lin Kuang chuckled helplessly. "Alright. Where do you want to go? I’ll take you."
"Wow, Lin Kuang, you’re the best!" Zhantai Mingyue exclaimed, hugging his arm and bouncing with joy.
Her movements caused Lin Kuang’s arm to rub against her chest, and the constant friction was an electrifying sensation.
"Ahem. I’ve always been a good person. How about I take you to the amusement park?" he suggested after a moment’s thought.
"Yes, yes! Let’s go to the amusement park!" she said happily.
Seeing her delight, Lin Kuang couldn’t help but reach out and pat her on the head. "You little rascal. Come on, get in the car."
He then turned and slid into the driver’s seat. Zhantai Mingyue beamed, her large eyes crinkling into happy crescents. She especially savored the feeling of his hand on her head. It felt so warm and tender.
