Urban Super Soldier King - Chapter 1920 - 2021: Surviving Amidst the Flames of War
The war was fierce, and all kinds of heavy weapons were used. Although the Timberwolves were ambushed, they quickly launched an attack without panic.
The flames of war began to spread gradually, with some artillery hitting directly around Sun City.
All civilians in Sun City were on edge, fearing they would be affected by the war.
Little Xuan was a bit worried and said, "Brother, if we don’t stop it, we might get entangled." 𝚏𝐫𝚎𝗲𝕨𝐞𝐛𝕟𝚘𝐯𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝗺
Xiang Yu stood on the rooftop with his hands behind his back, watching everything. If the war reached here, they would act without hesitation.
Although he initiated this war, he didn’t want to be too involved.
Regardless of any force, he would not agree to anything that affected the interests of their Sun City.
"Tell the brothers to be ready. If the fight reaches us, we’ll strike directly," Xiang Yu said coldly.
Little Xuan nodded and went to make arrangements. The City Guard Army heard they had to fight, and they were both excited and scared.
After all, the gap with the opponent was really huge, and if a real fight broke out, they might be wiped out.
Just as the battle circle expanded and was about to touch Sun City, Xiang Yu’s phone suddenly rang. It was Wang Qian calling.
"What do you think of this war?" Wang Qian said casually.
"It’s intense, but if the war spreads further, we’ll have to join in," Xiang Yu said decisively.
Wang Qian chuckled softly and said, "Don’t be nervous. I’ll have my people retreat, so it won’t affect your development."
"Thank you," Xiang Yu said sincerely.
"How will you thank me?" Wang Qian joked.
"I’ll treat you to dinner," Xiang Yu said. It was the only way he could thank her at the moment.
"Okay, if today ends perfectly, you can treat me to dinner," Wang Qian said and then hung up.
Indeed, after she hung up, the combat on site eased significantly, and the sound of artillery also reduced.
"Look, the Wolf Fang seems to be retreating," someone shouted with surprise.
Xiang Yu also saw it. The distant fire points were extending further away, and the Timberwolves were pursuing them relentlessly.
Little Xuan ran up and said, "Brother, it seems like Wolf Fang has been defeated."
Tie Zhuzi wrapped an arm around Little Xuan’s shoulder and said, "Don’t talk nonsense. Wang Qian called Brother Yu and temporarily retreated to avoid involving us."
Only then did Little Xuan understand, and he watched the war fire recede.
Watching the speed of the Timberwolves’ pursuit, Xiang Yu shook his head and smiled bitterly, knowing that Wolf Fang’s retreat surely had another purpose.
Perhaps it was a ploy to lure the enemy deep and set an ambush ahead to wait for them.
Just as Xiang Yu thought the war was about to end, someone reported that a convoy was coming from the north, seemingly heading toward the Wolf Fang.
After hearing this, Xiang Yu picked up the phone to report to Wang Qian but hesitated and put the phone down.
Since he knew about this message, Wang Qian would have likely figured it out too.
The incoming team could be either Wolf Fang’s rescue unit or COM’s organization.
But the likelihood of COM’s organization was higher because Wolf Fang’s people wouldn’t come openly if they had set an ambush.
As Xiang Yu contemplated the possibilities, his phone rang. After checking, he saw it was Satman from the COM organization calling.
Earlier, after a meeting together, Satman had approached Xiang Yu, hoping to collaborate with him. Now, calling him, Xiang Yu wondered what he wanted.
"Hello," Xiang Yu said politely.
"Haha, Xiang Yu, long time no see," Satman laughed heartily.
"Yes..."
After exchanging a few pleasantries, Xiang Yu said, "What brings you to call now?"
Satman said without hesitation, "You must have seen the war going on, right?"
Xiang Yu had guessed his intention and said, "Yes, it’s intense. Watching it makes my heart race."
Satman laughed, knowing Xiang Yu was pretending, and said, "Wolf Fang is about to be finished; our people and Timberwolves have surrounded them. After today, this land will be ours."
Xiang Yu snorted inwardly, knowing Wolf Fang wouldn’t be defeated easily, but he didn’t show it. Instead, he pretended to be worried and said, "What, Wolf Fang is about to be finished?"
"Yes, are you interested in joining? Together, we can drive Wolf Fang out, and you’ll have a share of this land," Satman proposed.
Xiang Yu had already guessed his motive, essentially recruiting him to fight against Wolf Fang together.
"We’re too weak to do anything," Xiang Yu said worriedly.
"Don’t underestimate your power. Once you join, regardless of success or failure, I’ll promise you some good land," Satman said straightforwardly.
"Well, tell me what you want us to do first. If you expect us to join the fight, I disagree. With our numbers, we’d disappear once we charge in," Xiang Yu replied.
"Rest assured, you won’t be on the front line. You have a good relationship with Wang Qian. Just sneak in now and capture her, and you’ll be credited the most," Satman explained.
After contemplating for a moment, Xiang Yu said, "Alright, give me some time."
Hearing Xiang Yu agree, Satman happily said, "Alright, I’ll wait for your news. If you can capture her, I’ll give you two cities."
"Deal, but I can’t guarantee success," Xiang Yu said.
"Rest assured, whether successful or not, this credit is yours," Satman assured.
"Okay, I’m going now," Xiang Yu said and hung up directly.
Tie Zhuzi and Little Xuan stood on both sides watching Xiang Yu; they heard the phone conversation.
They didn’t believe Xiang Yu would really capture Wang Qian, but knew he had plans.
"Let’s go find Wang Qian," Xiang Yu said and headed downstairs.
Little Xuan and Tie Zhuzi followed behind. Little Xuan had already informed everyone not to act rashly.
On the way down, Xiang Yu called Wang Qian.
"Where are you? I need to see you," Xiang Yu stated directly.
"See me?" Wang Qian asked puzzledly, then said, "I’m at the base in Lieyun City; it’s dangerous here."
"You’ve already taken the base?" Xiang Yu was surprised.
"It’s nothing," Wang Qian said lightly. "It’s best if you stay in Sun City; don’t come out, it’s too chaotic."
"No problem, there’s something I want to discuss," Xiang Yu insisted.
After thinking for a moment, Wang Qian said, "Alright, come over but be cautious; I’ll instruct the brothers to let you through."
"I’m heading there now," Xiang Yu said and then instructed Tie Zhuzi to drive a car, detouring toward Lieyun City.
Though not far, on the way were Timberwolf and COM forces. They had to be careful; getting taken out by a shell wouldn’t be worth it.
The drive wasn’t far, but it took them more than an hour. During this time, surrounding artillery wasn’t intense; it seemed they were all waiting for an opportunity...
