Urban Super Soldier King
Chapter 1955 - 2056: The Leader’s Charisma
Tie Zhuzi didn’t know what Xiang Yu would do, but from his gaze, he could tell that Xiang Yu had definitely made plans.
In the past two days, Xiang Yu had been with Jackson the whole time. Jackson was a workaholic; he rarely spoke throughout the day, always thinking about design related matters.
During these two days of interacting with Jackson, Xiang Yu was deeply moved. Often, Jackson would suddenly exclaim while eating, take out a pen, and start drawing. Sometimes he would wake up in the middle of the night to work.
Xiang Yu didn’t quite understand and hoped he could rest more, but Jackson looked at Xiang Yu disdainfully and said, "This is artistry; it requires instant inspiration. You don’t understand."
Xiang Yu smiled helplessly but wouldn’t fault Jackson. He was grateful for Jackson’s help with design.
During this time, Wang Qian was also urging Xiang Yu. They hoped Xiang Yu would return to China soon.
The time for action was getting closer, and even Wang Qian started to feel anxious.
After all, they had been planning this for over a year and didn’t want to give up due to a mistake on Xiang Yu’s end.
But Xiang Yu kept delaying as Su Yongzhen’s and Eck’s issues remained unsolved, leaving him no mood for anything else.
"Jackson, why is the drainage system designed here and not in the middle?" Xiang Yu asked curiously, looking at the design diagram.
After interacting with Jackson for so long, Xiang Yu had gradually learned to read blueprints.
"Go away, don’t bother me." Jackson said impatiently.
Xiang Yu: "..."
Tie Zhuzi standing behind Xiang Yu almost burst out laughing. Only Jackson could talk to Xiang Yu like this; no one else had such nerve.
"Yu, our two days are up; maybe you should think about Eck’s matter now." Tie Zhuzi reminded from behind.
Despite his reluctance, Xiang Yu nodded; some things had to be faced.
He sighed as he exited Jackson’s design room. "What do you think Eck is doing right now?"
"What’s he doing? Surely guarding against us nervously." Tie Zhuzi replied grumpily.
Xiang Yu nodded and then made a phone call. He dialed Eck directly.
"Xiang Yu, what exactly do you want?"
Eck said anxiously; clearly, he was unsettled. Death wasn’t frightening, but the wait for its arrival was.
Eck was waiting for Xiang Yu’s decision, whether to fight or flee. It had been a tormenting two days, during which he hadn’t closed his eyes, his mind filled only with Xiang Yu.
"I don’t want anything but to ask you, it’s not too late to regret now." Xiang Yu said confidently.
"Quit pretending. If you’re going to fight, just come; I’m waiting for you in Sun City." Eck shouted.
"Alright, it’s your choice. Hope you won’t regret it." Xiang Yu said and hung up the phone.
Tie Zhuzi noticed Xiang Yu’s troubled expression and said, "Yu, there’s no need to feel bad. If someone like him doesn’t betray you now, he’d rebel sooner or later. Better to solve it quickly and early."
Xiang Yu smiled faintly and then made another call.
"It’s time to move."
He said and hung up.
Tie Zhuzi looked puzzled as he asked Xiang Yu, "Yu, who was it that you called?"
"An old friend from Sun City," Xiang Yu replied.
Seeing Xiang Yu’s calm demeanor, Tie Zhuzi chuckled, "Yu, you knew Eck would rebel, so you planted a spy beside him?"
"Not exactly." Xiang Yu walked casually in Lieyun City, "We built Sun City from scratch; most people accept us as leaders. If Eck wanted to meddle, they’d resist. So many would naturally report to us." 𝕗𝐫𝐞𝕖𝕨𝐞𝗯𝚗𝕠𝘃𝐞𝚕.𝐜𝗼𝚖
"That’s why you’re not worried." Although Tie Zhuzi didn’t fully understand Xiang Yu, he knew he was very capable.
At this time, Sun City was in uproar. Someone spread the news that Eck, along with the militia, was rebelling and wanted to kill Xiang Yu.
This news instantly exploded in Sun City; Xiang Yu’s influence there was significant. He brought them hope and gradually led them to better lives.
They harbored blind admiration for Xiang Yu, believing that as long as he was present, all hardships could be overcome.
If Xiang Yu was gone, they’d return to a state where they couldn’t even get a meal.
All city institutions instantly paralyzed, everyone took to the streets to protest.
They lined up and surged toward the militia’s base.
According to old city laws, civilians typically weren’t allowed to enter the base unauthorized, but they could no longer care about that.
With Xiang Yu, laws existed; without him, laws were like mere decorations.
Many in the militia were shocked to hear this news; they had been in a state of readiness but didn’t know the opponent.
Now upon hearing it’s Xiang Yu, they were dumbfounded. Most began to riot, demanding Eck give them an explanation.
Meanwhile, Eck was pacing anxiously in his office, shouting, "Who leaked this information? Didn’t I say it should be kept secret?"
"Chief, it had to be Xiang Yu and his people; should I take the militia to deal with the City Guard Army?" Someone standing beside Eck said.
Current circumstances were beyond Eck’s expectations; he overlooked the city’s people’s admiration for Xiang Yu.
"Initiate the emergency plan." Eck said angrily.
"Yes!" The person replied and began to walk outside but then turned to ask, "What’s the emergency plan?"
"What else? Pull our troops back, protect the base." Eck shouted.
By now, many civilians had gathered outside the base, shouting. Some extremists were hurling stones inside.
Some militia members secretly retreated from the base; these were old squads from the slums who felt deep affection for Xiang Yu.
The militia originally totaled over a thousand, but after the news broke, it automatically disbanded, leaving only over two hundred within the base.
These were handpicked by Eck and mostly from other nearby cities, having no attachment to Xiang Yu.
"We want to see Xiang Yu. We want the chief. Eck, come out and speak!"
"Eck, you scum, how can you rebel? Aren’t you afraid of divine retribution?"
The crowd outside indiscriminately insulted Eck, who lay on the sofa, realizing the situation was lost.
He thought, with Xiang Yu out of the city, everything was under his control but underestimated Xiang Yu’s influence.
Xiang Yu hadn’t even fought them, and the militia had mostly dissolved.
Around noon, a convoy slowly entered Sun City, leading the way was Xiang Yu’s car...
