Chapter 1962: Chapter 2063: Wang Qian Resolutely Protects Sun City

In the past two days, Xiang Yu has been staying by Sun Bo’s side, taking on the role of a secretary, and has even discussed issues with some key personnel from the military.

All of this has been recorded by internal journalists, and naturally, these documents are not accessible to the general public, only to those in high-level positions.

While Xiang Yu was busy attending engagements with Sun Bo, a teleconference was being held inside the Wolf Fang base on Xiaoxu.

"Don’t you think Xiang Yu has integrated into his role too quickly? In just two short days, he’s already met with senior officials from the Chinese military. There’s definitely something suspicious here." COM’s acting director, Darzi, expressed doubt.

"I also find it odd. We sent him there to conduct covert investigations, and now he’s making such a high-profile appearance. Could he be jeopardizing our plan?" Liao Wenqing, the acting leader of the Killing God Organization, remarked.

Several people expressed their opinions, and Wang Qian, seeing them suspect Xiang Yu, angrily said, "It’s his skill that he can quickly penetrate into China’s operations. Since you now doubt him, why did you choose him in the first place?"

"These are two separate issues. This operation must remain absolutely confidential, and any information leaks are utterly unacceptable," Da Vinci retorted.

"I have a suggestion. Xiang Yu is currently out of our control in China, so I propose we take control of Sun City to constrain Xiang Yu’s activities," Liao Wenqing suggested.

"You dare," Wang Qian immediately flared up upon hearing this. The matter was significant to her, and she would not tolerate any mishaps.

She knew Xiang Yu, and Xiang Yu was not the type of person to be threatened. If his rear were truly seized, Xiang Yu might return in a fit of rage right away.

"I agree with the God of Killing’s opinion," COM’s leader, Darzi, stated.

Others also expressed their agreement and then focused their attention on Wang Qian, pressuring her to consent to the plan.

Wang Qian’s face turned icy as she looked at them and sneered, "Sun City is within our circle. You wouldn’t mask controlling Sun City as a means to threaten us, would you?"

Upon hearing Wang Qian’s words, the others’ expressions changed.

The strength of Wolf Fang stood before them, and they did not want to become enemies with Wolf Fang without reason.

Liao Wenqing quickly explained, "You misunderstand. We only want to control Sun City so Xiang Yu can wholeheartedly work for us."

Wang Qian sneered, "Xiang Yu is also a participant in this mission and is taking risks to collect intelligence, which shows his trust in us. If any of you were to gather intelligence, what would you think?"

Everyone was silent for a while until Darzi attempted to explain, but Wang Qian raised a hand to stop him: "Enough said; anyone who tries to take advantage of Sun City now is going against Wolf Fang, and don’t blame me for being ruthless then."

After saying this, Wang Qian directly shut off the video. She should have applied to the Wolf King initially; if they had handled this matter alone, things would have been simpler and more straightforward. But now, with multiple forces involved, the situation becomes more complex.

After turning off the video, Wang Qian angrily left the room and returned to her office.

Just as she sat down, someone came to report.

"Chief, according to the information we have, Lieyun City is currently constructing a base."

"Stop all surveillance on Sun City and Lieyun City. Whatever they want to do is their business. We shouldn’t interfere," Wang Qian ordered irritably.

"But..."

"No buts. Execute my order. If I find anyone secretly investigating them, I will not be lenient."

Seeing Wang Qian was serious, the person quickly complied and left.

Wang Qian, feeling fatigued, sat on the sofa muttering to herself, "Xiang Yu, you just focus on gathering intelligence in China. I’ll ensure the safety of our base."

Meanwhile, inside China, Number One was inspecting the situation at the headquarters when someone brought documents for him to review.

He casually skimmed through the documents and just as he was about to close them, he suddenly paused.

"What kind of cooperation do we have with Yuran Company?" Number One asked, pointing at the documents.

The documents showed Sun Bo having a pleasant conversation with a military high official, while Xiang Yu stood behind Sun Bo, appearing to listen intently.

"Yuran Company is a project that our nation prioritizes for support, and we entrust many of our technological research projects to them," someone explained with a smile.

Number One nodded and then continued to flip through the pages without further comment.

After the inspection, Number One called a subordinate into his room.

The person stepped forward and reported directly, "Chief, per your instructions, we’ve conducted a thorough investigation on him. He has no other close contacts, although someone did follow him initially, but they were detected by him, and since then, there’s nothing suspicious."

"Have you monitored his phone?" Number One asked.

"We attempted to breach his phone’s defense system, but his phone is protected by special programs, and no matter how hard we tried, we could not break through," the person admitted, looking a bit troubled.

Number One was not angry upon hearing this; instead, he nodded satisfied because he knew the communication device he used was identical to Xiang Yu’s.

If Xiang Yu’s was secure and impregnable, that meant his was as well.

"Understood, you may leave now," Number One instructed.

After the person left and closed the door, Number One took out his phone and called Xiang Yu.

"I’ve noticed you’ve been quite active lately," Number One remarked straightforwardly.

"I wouldn’t dare slack off on your assignments," Xiang Yu replied, laughing.

"When are you free? I’ll arrange someone to pick you up," Number One said.

"I’m available anytime; the key is your schedule, Chief," Xiang Yu replied.

Currently, Xiang Yu didn’t have much to do other than staying by Sun Bo’s side as an assistant.

"Alright, I’ll send someone to fetch you tonight," Number One said and then immediately hung up the phone.

Xiang Yu was a bit puzzled. He hadn’t even provided his specific location when the call ended.

However, Xiang Yu didn’t think much of it. If a country couldn’t locate his position, then the country was in danger.

"Brother Yu, what’s the matter?" Sun Bo curiously asked.

"Number One wants to see me," Xiang Yu calmly replied, "I won’t be able to accompany you tonight."

Sun Bo could only be surprised, as he was already aware of the contact between Xiang Yu and Number One, but hadn’t expected that Number One would take the initiative to call him.

"Brother Yu, make sure you stay safe," Sun Bo said worriedly.

Xiang Yu smiled and reassured him, "Don’t worry. Number One isn’t going to harm me."

"It’s not that. I’m worried..."

Before Sun Bo could finish his sentence, Xiang Yu interrupted.

"I won’t harm Number One either. He is the chief of China, and I respect him just the same," Xiang Yu earnestly said...
