Valerian did not waste any time and picked up the easiest mission to get a feel of the Dungeon. He was calm as he walked through the city. He did not mind the people gazing at him. The young man found that many people were gathered at the so-called entrance of the Dungeon.

The city square had a single-floor building; many people came out and went in. Valerian followed the queue of people going in. Soon, he came to the entrance, and the guard asked, "Your guild card."

Valerian handed him the card, and the guard was surprised. He asked, "You do not have a party?"

The people in the queue all looked at Valerian in surprise. Some people wanted to see what kind of person would go in alone, and some had hidden intentions. However, Valerian took out his knife and said, "I have a knife. Do you want it?"

The guard was startled, and Valerian said, "If anyone inside the dungeon attacks me, I will pass your name to the guild hall."

The guard apologized and quickly returned the guild card to Valerian. It was his mistake. No one dared to go into the space alone. Valerian was now a target in the eyes of many. The young man stowed away his guild card and rushed inside the entrance. Beyond the entrance, the man rushed ahead, and soon he found a portal and spotted a man jumping inside.

Valerian quickly rushed up and jumped inside the portal. The information he learned from Prim stated that he would appear randomly on the first floor if he wished to go to the lower floors. He would need to follow the map and find the passage.

The portal spawned him in dark surroundings, and he quickly looked around. The place was dark. The only dim source of illumination was crystals embedded in the walls. He looked around and spotted a few herbs glowing in the dark too. The books in the guild told him about this situation, and he found it very convenient.

The young man walked around slowly, looking at the surroundings. His eyes adjusted to the darker surroundings. Valerian took out the knife in his hand. He wanted to be ready to act in any situation. This place was making his senses tingle.

It was as if he was being watched from all over the place. Valerian has never been to such a place ever in his life. Even the forest or the dragon caves at Vita were nothing compared to this. The young man sighed as he began to look around.

Suddenly, he sensed something on his right. Valerian immediately jumped to the side and looked at the person. He spotted a snake crawling on the ground. The beast’s speed was so fast that he almost could not see it. Valerian moved around the place quickly to avoid the snake.

He saw that the snake left corrosive marks on the ground wherever the snake passed. Valerian did not wish to mess with this small snake. After a few seconds, the snake slowed down, and Valerian took a small knife from his thigh strap and flung it at the snake’s head. Although the head of the snake was severed, the blood seeping from its body corroded the blade completely. 𝐟𝚛𝕖𝚎𝕨𝗲𝐛𝚗𝐨𝐯𝐞𝕝.𝐜𝗼𝗺

The young man sighed and mumbled, "This place is not easy."

He began to wander around and fought a lot of beasts. However, the situation was very exhausting. At this moment, Valerian found himself standing in a clearing. It was a chamber, and five wolves were sleeping in the center of the chamber.

Just when he was thinking about how to sneak up and kill the beasts, a flurry of footsteps echoed from the opening on the other side. Valerian had a bad premonition rising in his heart. As he predicted, a group rushed toward the clearance and startled the wolves. Valerian clenched his hand around the knife. He wished to kill these four people.

The young man saw five men in black clothes and armor rushing toward him. They were quick and bypassed the wolves. Valerian noticed that these people had no remorse in their eyes. The person in the back said, "Sorry, brother. May you rest in peace."

Valerian did not say anything to the man, just recalled their faces. He will make them regret this. The five wolves growled at the creature these men were running from. The wolves intimidated the creature into hiding, and they turned around to see Valerian gazing at them.

The wolves were purple, and the leader had a tint of red on his forehead. The Alpha growled, and the underlings surrounded the person. Valerian took out his knife and held it in a reverse grip. All this did not faze the young man. He knew what he had to do. These wolves were his goal for the trip.

The Alpha howled, and the four underlings charged at Valerian. The young man moved, and his knife flashed.

The five men in black clothes were moving around quickly when the one in the front suddenly said, "Did any of you hear any screams?"

They all knew what he meant and stopped in their tracks. The one in the back seemed to be their leader and said, "Since there was no scream, it meant that he died too quickly."

Three people chuckled while the one in the front said, "Boss, I have told you, do not be overconfident. Let’s go and check the situation."

The team got embroiled in a heated discussion, and the man in the front said, "Fine, fuck off. I will go and check on my own."

The sudden outburst coerced the five men, and they returned to the opening. What they saw gave them the shock of their lives. The young man stood facing the Alpha with a few marks on his armor. However, the shock came from the four wolf corpses lying in the clearing.

The leader in the back shivered and then said in a low voice, "Big brother, should we rob the royal wolves?"

The rest of the people were excited, but the big brother did not agree. He said, "We put him in this situation, and now he fends for himself. Do you think he is a normal guy? His age is not too old, and his skills are enough to kill us all."

However, his words fell on a stone. The guy looked back at the rest of the group, and they communicated with each other with some signals, and then the leader took out a concealed knife. He said, "I am the leader."

Then he quickly turned around and shoved the knife inside the back of his ’Big brother’ saying, "If I say we rob, you rob. If you defy me, then die."

The man let out a groan, and he looked around at his people in surprise. His eyes went dim, and his last breath escaped his body. The people shoved the dying body away, and they all moved forward to grab the dead wolves. They did not care if stealing the corpses would aggravate the alpha wolf even more.

Valerian sensed the movement behind him but did not have the time to do anything about it. The Alpha also saw what was happening and let out a loud growl. The menacing aura from his eyes made the four people freeze, and at this moment, Valerian flicked his wrist.

The knife flew out of his hand and brushed against the ear of the Alpha. The wolf rushed forward with an open mouth and bit Valerian. The young man did not evade the attack. Instead, he moved forward. The distance was closed, and it appeared like he was hugging the wolf.

Valerian changed the grip on his knife, and then he shoved the knife inside the wolf’s heart. The beast let out a whining sound as the body gradually limped over Valerian’s shoulder. The young man shoved the beast away and charged at the four men trying to steal the corpses.

Beasts were difficult for Valerian to handle, but humans, they were not something he would fret over. The four men were dealt with quickly. When he found the beasts disappearing into sparkles, the young man wanted to dissect the wolves and extract their fangs.

Valerian recalled that the corpses of the beasts would vanish upon death. However, he did not have to wait for the re-spawning. These corpses left behind a set of fangs that Valerian needed. The young man picked up the fangs and walked away after stowing them away from the scene.

The way to get out of the Dungeon was simple. One needed to find a staircase located on the staircase and walk out of the portal. Valerian moved around quickly. He was completely exhausted, and if he was to fall into a similar situation, he might not walk out unscathed. Soon he found the staircase and climbed out of the portal.

There were a lot of staircases leading out of the dungeon. Valerian walked out of the building and went to the guild to submit his task.
