Chapter 383: Chimera.

Taurus and Alan picked up Miril and rushed through the caverns with Valerian to take away the fainted lady. They were closing in on the entrance when Valerian jumped in the void and flipped over them.

While still in the air, he took his sword from his back while still in the void and twisted his body to generate momentum as the blade cut the air. A clang sounded, and he landed on the ground. He did not turn his head and said, "Leave and bring the news of this thing to the guild building. Be quick."

Taurus and Alan had stopped earlier, and now, they were in shock when they saw Valerian standing before a creature that they could not discern looked like what. However, the shout from Valerian awakened them, and they ran for the exit.

An obscure roar sounded in the dungeon, and Valerian could not help but feel dizzy, and so did the other two. Taurus stumbled but did not stop running forward. Alan wobbled as he moved forward. He was already hanging by a threat, and such an attack threw his mind into disarray. All the focus on saving his sister was shaken.

This roar gave birth to the thoughts of death in the minds of these two people, and Valerian tossed his flives. His aim was the beast’s throat, and he was not going for it from the outside. The force of two elephants generated the speed of his flick. The flying knife flickered, and the obscure roar became a wail of pain.

Valerian held the wall to the side as the beast cried, saying, "Get a grip, move, or everyone will die. Go!"

The two people woke up and mustered all their courage to take Miril away from the dungeon. Valerian also stood up and said, "What are you even?"

Taking advantage of the beast standing still, Valerian circled it quickly and observed the creature’s structure. He could not help but marvel. He sighed and said, "High gods surely knew these creatures were abominations. Why did you not kill them? Look at this thing, neither a tiger nor a stag nor is it a horse."

The creature had scales for fur, and two of the front claws differed. One was a tiger claw, while the other seemed to be a bear’s. The hind legs were that of a horse, and to manage the weight of the ten feet tall body, it had a python tail. Valerian could not attack from the back because the snake head was very much realm.

The most obscure thing was a wolf head with stag horns. Valerian wanted to ask if this was made after devouring all the beasts that could be located on this floor. That roar attack earlier was akin to that of a tiger and a bear.

While Valerian was thinking, the creature tightened its muscles and pushed the flying knife out of the wound. The clattering sound of the knife falling on the ground woke Valerian from his daze. The young man sighed and decided to fight this creature and see its capabilities. If he possibly managed to kill this beast right now, then the code would be fixed, and this thing will not evolve to the point where it could leave the dungeon or create an army of Dungeoneers.

Valerian held the sword in his right hand while the short ax was in his left. The creature saw him assuming a fighting stance and roared in the provocation. Valerian understood the beasts and could see the disdain in its eyes.

The young man was not scared of anything. He raised his eyebrow and waved his sword to call the beast to make a move. This thing had consumed so many beasts. How can it not have a higher intelligence, and it charged forward?

Valerian also moved. However, halfway through, he stepped to the side as a stinger tongue shot from the creature’s mouth. Surprised, The young man jumped to the side but did not stop moving forward. The beast saw this and swung its claw at Valerian. The young man slashed his sword.

However, he did not expect his sword to block the attack. The young man was pushed back by ten feet. He could not help but cast a second look at the bear claw. This claw was strong, and Valerian sensed a strong wind pressure when pushed back. However, this was not over yet, and the creature dashed around. Its agility was baffling, and it circled Valerian as if a wolf.

The young man could not help himself and tried to counter this by jumping into the void. However, he was met with a shower of darts. He could not help but swing his sword to deflect them. Valerian could do nothing but retreat. This creature was making him work his brain.

The competition raised Valerian’s battle spirit, and he sought something to push him further. However, he also knew the side effect of this engagement. If he does not end this soon, the creature’s mind will advance, and it will spell doom for him.

Valerian did not wish to empower this oddity any more than it already was. He moved around to avoid the darts. These things were shot from the deer horns on its head. After surviving the situation, Valerian tried to engage, but at this moment, he sensed a threat.

He retreated quickly while his wrist flickered several flying knives at the creature. Being hurt by one of these earlier made the creature shiver, curling up in a ball. Valerian could not understand how this thing was even moving.

The snake tail was looking around, maintaining vigil. Valerian knew that he could not deal with this thing alone, so he swung his shirt ax and aimed to hit the tail joint, but the python took the attack head-on and deflected the weapon. 𝙛𝒓𝒆𝙚𝒘𝒆𝓫𝙣𝓸𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝒄𝒐𝓶

Valerian got some crucial information and decided to run away from the beast. However, he could not come out unscathed from the situation. At the last moment, he was attacked and left with a gash. Valerian did not stop. He rushed out of the floor to the first floor to leave the dungeon.

The city was already in distress. The dungeoneers refused to enter the thirty-fifth floor, and when they saw Valerian coming out with a wound, they all were shocked. The Silver Knight was hurt, which meant the situation was dire.

Valerian did not bother with his wound and rushed through the streets to go to the guild, but not before he told the guard, "Do not allow anyone to enter the thirty-fifth floor. There is a mutated creature. It is more powerful than the berserker giant."

The guard was shocked, and usually, it would have told him off and waited for the guild to issue any command, but Valerian was now the first person to have reached the seventy-first floor in many years. How could he overlook his warning?

The young man did not hesitate to enter the guild building with a bleeding back. The people were surprised, and Valerian looked around to ask, "Where is Lady Prim?"

A guild manager replied, "Senior Prim is on vacation. Master Valerian, is there anything?"

Valerian sighed and said, "Corden, a creature has mutated off the thirty-fifth. We do not want to send in more nourishment for it. I sent two men out with a girl, have the doctors check her, and remove the eggs planted inside the wound."

The people were shocked, and Valerian began to describe the encounter. The people were shocked, and suddenly, a cold voice interrupted him, "Have you lost your mind staying here bleeding all over the floor? Trina, get a doctor here."

The person who came in was Prim, and she prioritized the medical attention Valerian needed. She turned to look at the people and said, "You all do not have to think too much. For the time, help the guild locate people who might have accepted the task to the thirty-fifth floor and spread the word about the mutation.

The mutation details will be revealed later, but floor thirty-five is off-limits until we know whether this can be dealt with. Understood?"

The dungeoneers nodded and left the building quickly. All loved Prim, and she was respected by them too. After the last guild leader was abolished, she had to take care of them, and the people followed her words right down to the dot.

...

Valerian was taken to the medical room and given the treatment for his wounds. He was lying in bed when Shiba and his party walked in. The girl glared at him and said, "Looks like it was fun?"

The young man did not reply to her and said, "Captain, do we still have your small shield?"

The man nodded and Valerian said, "It will be useful for us this time."

Shiba furrowed and wanted to tell him not to move before he was completely healed when Valerian said, "You do not have to think so much, I will recover first and then I will go to fight this thing. It made me stay on a bed, I will kill it."
