Venerable Demon Chef
Chapter 94 - 92: Identity Exposed
Mo Qi had no qualms about killing Xu He.
But if he was really pregnant, the fetus inside him was innocent.
If it meant taking two lives at once, Mo Qi couldn’t bring himself to do it.
"Mo the kid, you don’t really think a normal fetus could be conceived in the span of a few breaths, do you?" the Pig Emperor said, seeing Mo Qi’s hesitation.
"What do you mean?" Mo Qi asked, confused.
The Pig Emperor said, "The world is divided into yin and yang. This is the Dao, a rule that no one can defy. The birth of a new life must conform to the way of yin and yang. How could I possibly change that?"
"There is indeed a life form gestating in Xu He’s belly, but it’s just a mass of flesh I created by gathering his Vitality. It has no Spiritual Energy, let alone a soul. It couldn’t be born, and even if it could, it would just be a lump of dead meat. It’s completely meaningless."
Mo Qi was stunned. ’Is that even possible?’
The Pig Emperor chuckled, a sleazy grin on his face. "Even though it’s not a Live Fetus, what Xu He is going through is identical to a real pregnancy. He’s in a weakened state now. He’d be lucky to stay conscious, let alone fight."
In the end, Xu He died at Mo Qi’s hands, his Vitality extinguished by a single slash.
Mo Qi had expected a major battle, never imagining it would end in such a dramatic fashion.
Xu He never thought he would die at Mo Qi’s hands, either. He was a mighty cultivator at the Peak of Vajra Realm!
And to die in such a humiliating and helpless way.
If you hadn’t seen it with your own eyes, who would believe that a man, a man nearly four hundred years old, could get pregnant!
No matter how immense his power or sky-high his Cultivation, he couldn’t endure the pain of childbirth.
Just then, a stout figure rapidly approached from the distance. It was Jin Sanpang and Niu Kexin, who had returned.
"Why did you come back?" Mo Qi frowned at Jin Sanpang.
If the Pig Emperor hadn’t happened to awaken this bizarre ability, he might not have been able to kill Xu He.
If Xu He hadn’t died, Jin Sanpang bringing Niu Kexin back would have been like leading a lamb to the slaughter. All of Mo Qi’s desperate efforts would have been for nothing.
Jin Sanpang scratched his bald head and said with a wronged expression, "After Sister Kexin woke up, she threatened to kill herself if I didn’t bring her back. I couldn’t stop her... And... and I was also really worried about you, Brother Mo."
Mo Qi’s heart warmed, and his expression softened.
SLAP!
Niu Kexin walked up to Mo Qi and slapped him hard across the face.
"Do I, your sister, mean nothing to you? How dare you knock me out when we’re in danger! What do you take me for!" Niu Kexin bit her lip, her eyes red and swollen as she fought back tears.
The entire way here, she had been so worried she could barely breathe, and she had shed more tears than she could count.
Mo Qi knew he was in the wrong. He nodded repeatedly and said with a placating smile, "Of course I do. You’re not just in my eyes, you’re in my heart."
Mo Qi’s smile was infectious, and most of Niu Kexin’s anger instantly melted away.
But she wasn’t about to let Mo Qi off that easily. She grabbed his ear and twisted.
"Tell me, are you ever going to dare abandon me to face danger alone again?"
"I won’t! I won’t! I definitely won’t dare again." Mo Qi feigned a pained grimace and shot a pleading look at Jin Sanpang and the Pig Emperor.
However, the Pig Emperor looked up at the sky, suddenly finding something incredibly interesting in the pristine blue expanse.
Jin Sanpang suddenly found the tip of his own nose fascinating, completely oblivious. For once, his emotional intelligence was running high.
Niu Kexin reluctantly released Mo Qi’s ear. She looked him in the eyes and said seriously, "Little Brother Mo, you listen to me. From now on, no matter what happens, and whether or not you leave me behind, if you’re gone... I won’t live on alone."
"I only live for you now!"
A tremor went through Mo Qi’s heart, and his smile vanished.
’What have I ever done to deserve such devotion?’
He took Niu Kexin’s hand and placed it over his heart. "Sister Kexin," Mo Qi said solemnly, "I, Mo Qi, promise you that from this day forward, no matter what happens, I will never leave you."
Niu Kexin couldn’t hold back any longer. Tears streamed down her cheeks, like pearls rolling off a string.
She threw herself into Mo Qi’s arms, sobbing uncontrollably.
"Silly brother. Do you have any idea? My heart was about to break."
Mo Qi held her tightly, inhaling her sweet, girlish scent. "I’m fine now, see?" he comforted her. "Don’t worry. Your little brother is plenty strong."
Niu Kexin reached out, her hand gently caressing his cheek and ear. "Did I hit you too hard?" she asked, her voice full of concern.
Mo Qi grinned. "They say you only hurt the ones you love. Believe it or not, it just makes me feel cherished."
"Hmph. Smooth talker," Niu Kexin pouted.
The Wolf Fang Sect was eyeing them like a predator from the outside, while Wang Xinglong harbored sinister intentions from within.
After digging a grave and burying Xu He’s body, the three of them and the pig didn’t dare to linger. They set off once more, heading for the Void Sect.
「...」
Inside the Wolf Fang Sect, Zhang Shao and Jin Quan were locked in a heated argument over the death of Zhang Cheng.
"Jin Quan, you were in charge of the Earth-level Spiritual Ore. Don’t you think you owe me an explanation for my son’s death?"
Jin Quan remained expressionless, his tone strictly business. "Sect Leader, Zhang Cheng acted presumptuously due to his status. He entered the mine without my permission, which ultimately led to this tragedy. Not only did he perish, but he also dragged more than a dozen other disciples down with him."
"What? So you’re saying this is all my son’s fault?"
"I am merely stating the facts."
"Fine, fine. A fine ’stating the facts’ that is. Then let me ask you this: why was our Wolf Fang Sect encampment destroyed?" Zhang Shao asked, laughing with rage.
Jin Quan replied unhurriedly, "Sect Leader, you sent thirty thousand Beast Soldiers to besiege the Void Sect. Did you really expect them to treat us with courtesy? If not for my strength and resourcefulness, I would have become one of the hundreds of ghosts haunting that place."
He wasn’t worried about his lie being exposed. He had already killed everyone who knew the truth to silence them. He’d even burned the entire encampment to the ground.
A cold glint flashed in Zhang Shao’s eyes, and his entire body trembled with rage.
Given Jin Quan’s position in the Wolf Fang Sect, Zhang Shao couldn’t do a thing to him without direct evidence, even as the Sect Leader.
Just then, a subordinate came to report that they had found Zhang Cheng’s killer.
"Reporting to the Sect Leader, a woman claims to have seen the killer and knows his identity and whereabouts."
"Bring her in!"
A young woman with half her face covered by a mask walked into the main hall. If Mo Qi were here, he would recognize her as Fang Min, who had fled from Nanyang City.
After fleeing Nanyang City, Fang Min traveled nonstop, soon crossing the Void Sect’s border and reaching the territory of the Wolf Fang Sect.
In their efforts to capture Mo Qi, the Wolf Fang Sect had plastered wanted posters with his portrait in every corner of their territory.
Fang Min recognized him at a glance.
How could she possibly pass up such a perfect opportunity for revenge?
"You know this person?" With a point of his finger, Zhang Shao projected an image and aura of Mo Qi in front of Fang Min.
"Reporting to you, my lord, I do indeed know this person." Fang Min paused before continuing, "His name is Mo Qi, a disciple of the Void Sect. I saw him in Nanyang City just a few days ago." 𝑓𝑟𝑒𝘦𝓌𝑒𝑏𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝘭.𝒸𝘰𝑚
At these words, Jin Quan’s brow twitched slightly, but his expression quickly returned to normal.
Zhang Shao didn’t miss it.
’So, Jin Quan... I knew you were involved!’
