Vicious, Ugly, Scum? I Healed My Husbands, Now They Love Me
Chapter 22: Thank Goodness, That Damn Woman Isn’t After Them
What?
A fever?
Jiang Yunnuan was stunned. ’Didn’t he take a Rejuvenation Pill? How could he still have a fever?’
Then what was the point of the Elixir Pill I spent 800 Points on?
’Wait a minute, isn’t his fever the perfect opportunity for me to raise his affinity? Why am I worrying so much? As long as he doesn’t die, it’s fine!’
Having weighed the pros and cons, Jiang Yunnuan couldn’t sit still any longer. She scrambled out of bed and ran downstairs barefoot.
’Affinity, here I come!!!’
Hearing the commotion on the stairs, the three men sulking in their room tensed up instantly. ’That damn woman... why isn’t she asleep? What is she doing running downstairs this late?’
’What is she up to now?’
After her repeated antics, the three of them were genuinely afraid of her. The slightest stir from her direction put them on high alert, as if facing a great enemy.
A moment later, a sound came from Jun Yao’s room, and the three of them immediately breathed a sigh of relief. ’Thank goodness. The damn woman isn’t coming for us. Her target is Jun Yao.’
Jiang Yunnuan gently pushed open the door and went inside, flipping on the small night light by the entrance. The dim room was instantly illuminated.
She saw the man on the bed, his eyes shut tight, his handsome brows furrowed in pain. His normally pale skin was tinged with an unnatural flush, and his handsome face was contorted in agony.
’Looks like he has a high fever!’
She walked over and touched his forehead. A searing heat instantly met her palm. ’He’s burning up. The fever won’t make him an idiot, will it?’
Not daring to delay, Jiang Yunnuan turned and went into the bathroom to get a towel and some cold water.
His wound ached and itched. In his daze, Jun Yao felt as if he had been thrown into a furnace. His blood seemed to boil, and he was so hot he felt like he might catch fire. Even his throat was dry and parched. He was so uncomfortable he felt like he could explode on the spot.
Suddenly, a cool sensation spread across his body.
’It feels so good... I want more!’
He tried to speak, but no matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t make a sound. Just then, a soft chuckle faintly reached his ears.
"Tsk, feeling better? To think that I, the esteemed Eldest Senior Sister of the Mystic Sect, the number one Superpower user of the apocalypse, would ever personally wait on someone. You’re the very first. Tell me, you must have saved the galaxy in a past life to be this lucky, huh?"
His wound was on his abdomen, so he wasn’t wearing a shirt, which made things convenient for her.
After Jiang Yunnuan gave his upper body a cursory wipe-down with the cold, wet towel, she saw his furrowed brow relax into a look of pure enjoyment. This prompted a snarky comment from her, and she didn’t forget to shamelessly sing her own praises.
The man’s consciousness was hazy and confused. He had no idea who she was or what she was saying, so naturally, he didn’t respond. She didn’t mind. She soaked the towel in the basin of cold water, wrung it out, and placed it on his forehead.
"I’m working so hard taking care of you. When you wake up, you better give me some affinity points!"
At this, she suddenly remembered something and changed the subject. "By the way, System, are you recording this?"
She wasn’t here to be a good Samaritan out of the kindness of her heart. If she was going to work this hard taking care of him, of course she had to record it to show him when he was lucid. Otherwise, wouldn’t all this effort be for nothing?
That’s why she had instructed the System to start recording a video as soon as she came out of the bathroom.
[Recording now, Host. Rest assured, I’ll definitely do as you’ve instructed.]
Satisfied, Jiang Yunnuan turned her attention back to Jun Yao, only to find that his lips were so dry they had cracked and were seeping traces of blood.
’Ouch. How could I forget? You need to drink plenty of fluids when you have a high fever. I can’t believe I didn’t give him any water. I bet those other three didn’t give him any, either.’
’I can’t let this guy die of thirst.’
She wanted to give him some water, but after looking around, she found there was none in the room. Too lazy to go to the living room to get some, she simply used the cup on his nightstand to get a glass from her spatial farm.
Next to the small, two-square-meter plot of land, there was a deep well that exuded a cool, clear mist. You could tell at a glance that the water quality was superb.
Jun Yao’s throat felt like it was on fire when a cool, sweet spring suddenly flowed into his mouth. He instinctively began to gulp it down.
Seeing him so cooperative, Jiang Yunnuan slowly let out a breath of relief.
’Before this, I was worried it would be hard to give him water, especially since I have no experience taking care of people. Turns out, I was worrying for nothing.’
After drinking the water, the fire inside Jun Yao was slowly extinguished. The lingering discomfort gradually dissipated, and his consciousness began to clear.
When he opened his eyes, he saw a figure that was both familiar and strange. For a moment, he couldn’t seem to recognize her.
"You’re awake?"
The figure leaned closer, and her face came into focus.
Jiang Yunnuan raised an eyebrow, a smile playing on her lips as she looked at him.
Hearing her voice, Jun Yao averted his gaze and looked around the room before his eyes landed back on her. The familiar surroundings stimulated his brain, and he quickly understood the situation.
’Everything he had vaguely sensed earlier floated through his mind: the cold towel, the water... This woman was actually taking care of me?’
’Am I hallucinating from the fever?’
Without a word, Jun Yao closed his eyes, completely unwilling to believe it.
Jiang Yunnuan was speechless.
’This guy is clearly awake. I can forgive him for not saying thank you, but how can he just ignore me?’
’What about my affinity?’
’So I’ve been bustling about for so long, and I’m not getting even a single point, is that it?’
She reached out and shook the man’s lean, sturdy arm, demanding angrily, "Hey! It’s the middle of the night, and I’ve been cooling you down, giving you water... I’ve worked so hard, and you can’t even give me the slightest reaction?"
At her words, Jun Yao kept his eyes closed, playing deaf and dumb.
Seeing this, Jiang Yunnuan gritted her teeth in anger.
’Hmph, he’s so ungrateful! If I’d known, I would have just let him die of thirst!’ She couldn’t help but want to curse him out, but she suddenly remembered she was here to raise his affinity, not his animosity. ’Can’t be impulsive.’ She quickly swallowed the words on the tip of her tongue.
’I promised myself I’d change my strategy. So, no matter what his attitude is, I’ll endure it!’
Suppressing her anger, she softened her voice, her attitude doing a complete one-eighty.
"Ahem, my voice was a little loud just now. Don’t mind me. By the way, does your wound still hurt? My Healing has leveled up, you know. Want me to heal it for you?"
As she spoke, she gently placed her right hand on the wound on his abdomen. A mysterious power immediately appeared in her palm, emitting a faint, emerald-green glow.
Under the influence of that power, the wound healed at a speed visible to the naked eye.
Jun Yao’s eyes snapped open, a flash of astonishment streaking through them. 𝒇𝓻𝓮𝓮𝙬𝙚𝒃𝒏𝓸𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝓬𝓸𝒎
’How long has it been since the last time she healed me? How did her power become so much stronger?’
"Your wound is almost better, and the fever’s gone down. If nothing unexpected happens, you should be able to get out of bed tomorrow."
A few minutes later, Jiang Yunnuan withdrew her hand and collapsed onto the bed, panting. Her clothes were soaked with sweat, as if she had just been pulled out of the water.
’So tired... I’m so tired I don’t even want to lift a finger!’
Her Superpower was completely drained. She would need to rest well to recover.
"Tell me, who are you?"
The next instant, the devastatingly handsome man with golden hair and tiger ears suddenly sat up in bed and seized her by the throat. His eyes were ice-cold, devoid of any emotion.
