Si Xie turned to look at her, speaking with a smile that didn’t hide his suppressed rage.

"I definitely smell a stranger in your room, yet you seem unaware. That’s extremely dangerous. I saw on the news that a member of the Alien Clan infiltrated the Empire a few days ago, killing three citizens and injuring seven. Now, that alien still hasn’t been caught and is on the run. What if they took advantage of our carelessness, slipped into your room, and tried to harm you? That would be terrible, don’t you agree?"

Snapping back to his senses, Si Xie seethed with rage. He clenched his fist and swung it at the man’s gentle, handsome face. He had gone to so much trouble dealing with Jun Yao, only for this guy to swoop in and reap the benefits without lifting a finger.

At the sight, Fu Yuan’s eyelids twitched. He reached out, caught the incoming fist, and stepped out of the wardrobe.

"Hey! No fighting! Not in here! If either of you dares to break my wardrobe or mess up my clothes, don’t blame me for tossing you to the Enforcement Team!"

Hearing the commotion, Jiang Yunnuan finally snapped out of it. She bolted into the room, shouting as she grabbed their wrists and tried to yank them apart.

"Jiang Yunnuan, don’t you think you owe us an explanation? Why was he hiding in here?"

Si Xie whipped his head around, glaring at her with clenched teeth.

Jiang Yunnuan was speechless.

’Like hell I know how things ended up like this!’

"Hiding? Fu Yuan isn’t some secret lover. Why would he need to hide to be in my room? He just came in to help me find some clothes. What’s the big deal? Is there a problem?"

"You’re the one who barged into my room and kept going on about some ’secret lover.’ How was I supposed to know you were talking about Fu Yuan?!"

’That’s right, that’s right! Fu Yuan is not some secret lover. I have to stand my ground. Absolutely no backing down. It’s not like this guy can do anything to me anyway!’
