Villain Extra: Rogue Reader
Chapter 10: Three Robbers
"Lead the dangerous route that leads to the Carrion Household." Ray calmly said, his eyes flickering in excitement.
The power system draw was definitely rigged to ensure he could gain sufficient strength to deal with the upcoming scenario.
He might not be the protagonist of this world, but as a Villain Extra, wouldn’t it be an utter embarrassment to not have any power to fend for himself?
After all, a Villain Extra could totally become a protagonist of his own.
There were so many Extras novels already, so why couldn’t he be one of them, too?
[The host is too useless and pathetic to be a real protagonist.]
’Shut up, system! I didn’t ask for your opinion. If I don’t call for you, stay silent for me.’ Ray cursed silently.
Seriously, why did he have to get a system that held some sort of sentient?
Couldn’t he just receive a normal system prompt that wasn’t capable of communicating and only do the thing it was programmed to do?
But once the complaint was done, it seemed like the system learned its lesson and stopped commenting on everything.
Truth be told, some might find him annoying for constantly complaining, but this was simply his coping mechanism.
You think one could remain sane after being hurled into this kind of situation?
Even for a rogue reader like himself, he would feel overwhelmed and needed to find a way to distract his mindset.
As Ray followed Belva’s steps to the forest, he quickly felt a chill running down his spine.
"Are we being targeted?" He asked softly.
Belva was a bit surprised by his vigilance.
She nodded slightly and smirked, "The moment we’ve set foot in the forest, we have been marked. As for who they’re after... I’m not sure."
"They’re definitely after you," Ray said with utmost confidence. Any sane person would totally go for Belva, given her looks and figure.
As for him?
When did he say he was sane?
"Who knows?" Belva shrugged.
’With your disgusting face, I reckon they will eliminate you first.’ She thought. Even if the robbers were aroused by her appearance, they wouldn’t let him live anyway.
He was still too green in this kind of aspect.
Sure enough, a few minutes later, three robbers emerged from the flank area.
"Haha, kill the man, and we shall enjoy the woman!" A rough man snickered coldly.
"Hehe, I hate this bastard’s face since he entered the forest anyway!"
Another skinny man with two daggers in his hand sneered.
Lastly, the last person with a refined gentleman’s appearance flashed a gentle smile.
"Let’s not be so rough, guys." They said calmly, his eyes shifting to Belva’s beauty.
Once he had a great look, his expression gradually turned colder as he shifted to the person next to her. "As men, we must be gentle with women. But for that disgusting bane of existence, kill him."
With all eyes on Ray, the latter twisted his mouth in disdain.
"Ah, I thought I’d read enough third-rated villain lines before. But I was proven wrong again." He clicked his tongue and turned to Belva.
"Can you win them or not?"
Belva nodded without much expression. She despised these robbers who targeted women and perceived them as tools for pleasure.
This was especially so for the supposed refined gentleman. It was that usual hypocritical bastard appearance that disguised itself as scholarly when they were just rotten at the core.
"Good, then just do it." Ray yawned and leaned against a nearby tree bark. "I have no intention of having any verbal banter with fools who are going to die."
"Who are you calling a fool!" Sure enough, his statement quickly angered one of the three robbers. They raised their longsword and pointed at him with a cold glare.
"Ew, stop glaring at me like that. I’m a straight man." Ray shivered uncontrollably.
"Who the fuck is looking at you in that way!!!" The rough-looking man roared in fury.
Swoosh!
Right at that moment, there was some liquid dripping down on the ground.
The rough-looking man was baffled slightly. He slowly lowered his head, only to see a crimson color dyeing the ground red. Only now did he realize his neck had actually been sliced, and the dripping sound came from him.
"You—" His eyes stared in disbelief at the two people in front of him.
How could they make a move without saying anything?
Alas, what they received in response was a middle finger from Ray.
"Bitch, what do you think this is? A turn-based game?" Ray snorted coldly. Every villain died because they talked too much.
And as a Villain Extra, he refused to talk too much.
"Whoops, almost forgot!" Suddenly, he hurriedly rushed to the rough-looking man and gave the latter a stomp to the face.
DING!
[You have defeated an opponent!]
’Phew, I nearly missed it.’ He heaved a sigh of relief and glanced at the man, only to find them no longer breathing.
Some might begin to barf or even react in horror when they realized they had killed someone, but Ray was relatively calm.
After all, these robbers had probably killed a ton of people in the past.
Additionally, this world was the survival of the fittest kind.
In other words, if he decided to be magnanimous like some Buddha or monk, he would have died 999999999 times.
"Ugh, his blood got into my shoe." Ray lifted his leg and clicked in disdain.
He then turned to the other two and grinned. "Your clothes are sparkly clean. Do you mind lending it to me to wipe away the filthy blood off my shoe?"
"This arrogant bastard!" The skinny man gnashed their teeth in suppressed fury. As angry as he was, he didn’t dare to act carelessly.
That attack was so fast—to the point where he still couldn’t determine when the opponent had made a move.
The scholarly-gentleman simply smiled.
"We’ve got this." He patted the skinny man and said. "On three, we rush and grab the man as a hostage. He’s weak."
The skinny man nodded.
A few seconds later, the gentleman shouted.
"Three!"
Instantly, the skinny man kicked the ground and propelled himself toward Ray, only to see the latter laughing wildly.
"Buddy, turn around," Ray advised kindly, his eyes staring at the gentleman fleeing.
