Villains Act Shamelessly: The Heiress was the Great National Master!
Chapter 481: How Lonely It Must Be Here
The next day, Landon Ford left very early, and as expected, Thea Shaw stayed in bed until eight in the morning.
She really didn’t want to get up, but Aurora Sutton had already called.
"Yesterday, Dad called asking about you. I told him you were taking a bath."
Coming to Landon Ford’s house last night was surely reported to Aurora Sutton, but Thea Shaw was still grounded, facing Mr. Sutton’s check-ups.
Aurora Sutton covered for her; Mr. Sutton probably never thought that sweet Aurora would lie, so he simply trusted Aurora.
"Good brother!" Thea Shaw was touched: "You’re really my good brother!"
Aurora Sutton corrected: "It’s good sister!"
Thea Shaw: "Same thing! I’m catching a ride over now... Wait, is today the weekend? Are we working today?"
Everyone needs some rest; it’s the weekend today, why work!
"I don’t think we should be working. Wasn’t it very clear when we joined?" Aurora Sutton hesitated for a moment: "But yesterday, before we left, Rowan Donovan told me that everyone at the company has to work overtime on Saturdays..."
"Overtime? Do we get overtime pay? The manager didn’t mention it." Thea Shaw really didn’t want to go: "Anyway, everyone in the office probably knows we have some connections, so let’s not go."
Might as well confirm that we have connections.
She’d rather do that than face that pile of complicated materials.
Overwhelmed, sleepy, and feeling despondent.
"Ah... alright."
Aurora Sutton also had her own things to deal with; she was now planning to use a different method to persuade Vivian Doyle and find a way to take down Gordon Woods.
And there’s still the matter of discussing with the lawyer about gathering evidence to sue Benson Abbott.
If only they could find evidence of Benson Abbott abandoning and swapping her, then they could even put Benson Abbott behind bars.
Unfortunately...
Benson Abbott is not someone easy to catch. 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺
If he could be easily caught, Mr. Sutton wouldn’t have been in the dark for so many years.
Currently, they could only start with the shares.
After the call with Aurora Sutton, Thea Shaw felt a rare sense of relaxation today.
She got up to head to the bathroom for her morning routine and saw a note on the bedside table: [Milk and your breakfast are kept warm in the pot.]
Such a considerate reminder, who wouldn’t feel warm inside upon seeing it?
Thea Shaw felt, regardless of Landon’s lack of typical male traits—that caring character of his would make him the ideal husband everyone dreams of marrying in Qirenia.
What a pity!
After finishing her morning routine, Thea Shaw went to the kitchen, opened the pot, and took out her breakfast to eat.
Though she didn’t have work today, things still needed attention, or unexpected issues might arise.
Thea Shaw called Nancy Shea.
No matter what Nancy Shea thought back then, at least she believed what she said and went back to find that person’s remains.
She was calling to check if there were any new developments, as she suspected this matter was related to Alex Sherman.
This matter has only been out in the open for two days and is still under investigation. Nancy Shea answered the phone sounding down: "No new information yet, it’s been too long. Back then, people moved and left, and the police said it’s very difficult to investigate. Even Leo Quinn’s parents have passed away."
As she said this, Nancy Shea started to cry.
She had been like this the past two days, crying when awake, or just zoning out thinking about Leo Quinn.
She didn’t care about June Sherman or Alex Sherman at all now; her mind was consumed with how lonely Leo Quinn must have been here all these years.
