Villains Act Shamelessly: The Heiress was the Great National Master!
Chapter 491: Delivered Right to the Door
Thea Shaw and Zia Sutton hadn’t walked far when Thea stopped again.
Zia curiously asked, "Sis, what exactly do you want to buy?"
"Nothing really."
Thea started walking again. "I’m just feeling a bit puzzled."
Zia said, "Are you puzzled about why Landon Ford liked you back then?"
"..." Thea took a deep breath. "No, it’s just that I feel like I should have discovered something, but I haven’t discovered anything."
"Actually, I have a discovery," Zia suddenly said.
Thea turned her head and looked at him with anticipation.
Zia said, "Don’t you think the girls here are particularly pretty? They say the mountains and rivers here are perfect for nurturing beautiful girls. The people here have skin a shade whiter than our place, though none as fair as yours."
Thea: "..."
She took out her phone, expressionless. "I recorded it, sending it to Celia Chambers now."
"No, no, no!!" Zia wailed, pouncing like a hungry tiger to snatch Thea’s phone. "I was just mouthing off, I didn’t do anything. You can’t do this to me, sis! If you tell her, how will I have any good days left?!"
Celia pretended to be gentle and ladylike in front of Thea, but she was a completely different person in front of him.
Thea dodged Zia’s move, stopped teasing him, and continued walking forward, deep in thought.
She didn’t know if it was an illusion, but she always had a feeling.
It was like she had broken free from some shackles and touched on a deeper secret.
But what this secret was, she had no clue at all.
Zia kept asking anxiously, "You didn’t record it, did you? No, I just mentioned it, how could you react so quickly? Are you teasing me?"
Thea: "Yeah."
Zia: "..."
But what could he do?
He couldn’t hit her, nor scold her. Although he hadn’t tested it, he felt he wouldn’t gain any advantage from either anyway...
Without any leads, Thea and Zia wandered around Fenmore all day, happily swiping Mr. Sutton’s card.
They bought a bunch of local specialties, regardless of their usefulness—after all, they’d be gifts to bring back to the family.
Mr. Sutton met with clients until late, and Thea and the group returned just in time.
Mr. Sutton asked them a few questions about their day, and with the bodyguards present, he was reassured about their safety.
Since he was here on a business trip, he kept himself busy without a moment’s rest.
In the following days, Thea took Zia around almost all of Fenmore’s scenic spots and districts. Wandering here and there didn’t take much time, and after a few days, they had pretty much scouted out everything, yet she still couldn’t find anything peculiar.
Whenever she sensed a problem, she’d call Landon Ford to discuss it, but Landon was also busy and couldn’t be bothered all the time.
Finally, on the last day, unable to find any clues, Thea decided not to stress herself out. If she couldn’t discover anything, she’d just wait for it to come to her.
And then someone really did show up.
On the last night, there was a grand rock music festival happening locally. Thea and Zia attended the festival, and time flew by a bit too quickly. On their way back, Thea and the somewhat tipsy Zia, who had drunk two bottles of beer, casually noticed a luxury car parked by the street.
Having luxury cars parked nearby wasn’t unusual; there were plenty around the music festival.
The car had tinted windows, making it hard to see inside, but as the two passed by, both Thea and Zia heard a woman’s scream coming from inside.
