[VRMMO] Dead One
Chapter 770 - 771 – Forgotten Mist – Part 2.
"Everybody ready?" – asked GreyHunt as the party finished up applying simple buffs to themselves.
"..."
"So, do we rush in? Or slowly?" – asked LM.
"Slowly. I ain’t risking it." – said GreyHunt.
"Go." – said GreyHunt as his entire party started slowly moving towards the wall of mist... Before moments later, Cave entered the misty wall first, followed up with other members entering the mist.
"..."
"I can’t see anything." – said GreyHunt as his entire vision was covered up.
"Hey, can you use detection skill?"
"..."
"Hey!"
"!"
Before GreyHunt realized, he was no longer inside of the misty wall.
And his team was nowhere to be seen.
[Communication function is currently restricted.]
"Tch." – GreyHunt tried using chat instantly, but to no avail.
GreyHunt tried using communication device next, but alas, it also didn’t worked.
"..."
"Forced split teleportation and communication restriction."
"Great."
"..."
"Mist..."
(My field of vision is restricted because of that mist...) – thought GreyHunt before then using his [Demonic Vision], enchanting his own eyes.
"..."
"It works... But not at full power."
(So we add on top even vision restriction on top of that alongside skill nerfing.... Fucking nice.)
(I guess this dungeon nature is straight labyrinth.)
(And annoying one on top of that.)
"Come." – said GreyHunt before then summoning one of his massive inhuman demonic demons to his side.
[Blade Body]
"...So, I can summon you." – said GreyHunt.
(I could use summons to somewhat ’mark’ the spots, which will allow us to quickly find each other.)
(But still, who knows what is inside of that mist?)
(Monsters?)
(....I should look around and-?)
"Wait.... Is that.... House?" – said GreyHunt as he stared at the wall of houses that were right next to each other, forming a tight wall.
(Houses.... They look old, but not old enough.)
(This is no way medieval.)
(18 or maybe 19 century?)
(They are wall... No wait, I can see path there between some houses.)
"..."
GreyHunt walked towards one of the door, taking out his demonic pistole, before then slowly opening the door.
"..."
(Nothing.) – thought GreyHunt as he entered the houses, not spotting anything nor sensing anything in the area.
(Still... This area is... Clean?) – thought GreyHunt as he looked around the house and realized that the entire build was clean.
There were some tables, chairs, decoration and what not.
Simply put?
Normal looking house.
"..."
(Not medieval.... Nor modern.) – thought GreyHunt as he inspected the interior of the building.
(Between.)
(18 or 19 century. No doubt about it.)
(Maybe it tilts more towards 19th?)
"..."
(Still... Even though this isn’t as chaotic as the other Forgotten Fragments I’ve been to so far.... This entire place feels.... Plain....)
(Or more like... Blank?)
(Like, I can’t feel or see any life in this house, like there was not any in the first place.)
"..."
(Oh god. Is this something like a city filled with ghosts or something?)
(It does gives extremely creepy vibe like this one.)
"..."
(If this place is really from 19 century.... Then that means that the "forgotten" can be events or stories from more recent times.)
(Just like Pinocchio.)
(That monster was related to that story.)
"..."
(Now... How "recent" can it be?)
(Can it be even up to 20 century?)
(Either way.)
(I need to find a way to regroup with the others.) – thought GreyHunt as he left the house and began summoning several demonic monstrosity knights to his side, before then exploring the dungeon.
"HEY! ANYBODY?! CAN ANYBODY HEAR ME?!" – shouted GreyHunt on top of his lungs as he and his elite demonic knights walked.
"..."
GreyHunt summoned more demons to his side.
"You all. Your group will wait in this exact spot."
"If something happens, run to me."
"If any members of my team show up, tell them that I went in this direction."
"Got it? Good." – said GreyHunt before then he continues walking down the road.
GreyHunt continues exploring the mist covered dungeon.... But so far?
Split roads.
Houses.
And mist.
It was all he ever found.
He never found any monsters... Nor his teammates.
"..."
"Something isn’t right." – said GreyHunt.
(The environment is changing, so it is not like I’m running in circles.... But at the same time, it had been already some solid amount of time since I’ve gotten here.)
(Yet.... Neither monsters or the traces of my teammates?)
(Is this dungeon by any chance doesn’t have any monsters in it?)
"..."
"A gimmick?"
"..."
(My HP isn’t dropping, nor I’m afflicted with special debuff.)
(But that doesn’t mean that there is still out there some sort of hidden timer.)
(Maybe there is something like super deadly monster wondering around the labyrinth that you need to avoid?)
(Like in horror games.)
(Either way... This silence is freaking annoying.)
(Is it meant to mess with people heads?)
(Still.... Is this place a city?)
(Mist.)
(19 century looking houses....)
(Maybe it is already a hint?)
"..."
(No... Think about it later. For now, make sure to not die like an idiot.)
"Hey. Did any of you noticed weird?" – asked GreyHunt his demons... But none of them gave any real answer.
"..."
"!"
"There!" – one of the demonic monstrosity knights pointed at the humanoid figure appearing within the mist.
"HEY! FRIEND OR FOE!? I’M GREYHUNT!" – shouted GreyHunt, trying to identify before he pulls a trigger.
"..."
GreyHunt received response.
But it wasn’t response made with words.
No.
It was response made with flames.
Countless sphere of fire flew at the group of demons.
However, GreyHunt kept his guard up and shot down the projectiles with ease while his demons blocked anything that gotten past.
"HEY! STOP IT!" – shouted GreyHunt as yet another projectile of fire came.
"!?"
(Wait, isn’t that-)
And this projectile GreyHunt recognized.
It was a solid object made out of fire, the skill [forge Fire: Solid Spear].
GreyHunt instantly responded with [Demonic Gun Art: Hell Shot], unleashing an explosive bullet from his gun that clashed against the shot and straight up blew up.
"..."
"What the fuck is meaning of this?" – asked visible pissed off GreyHunt.
"Lilium?!"
"..."
The figure from the mist emerged.... And it was as GreyHunt suspected.
It was indeed Lilium.
"..."
"[Bloody Crime]." – without even trying explain herself, Lilium fired off yet another attack, unleashing a barrage of claws, fangs and blades of blood towards GreyHunt.
"..."
"Hey." – GreyHunt took out Caliburn and used his [Demonic Blade: Empowerment], boosting his sword power while at the same time cutting down the projectile with the golden blight emitted from the sword.
"...Okay. Fuck it." – said GreyHunt as he began rushing straight towards the female vampire mage who continues fired her fire and blood magic at the demonic human, who just easily blocked off easily every attack.
"[Fire Magic: Great Explosion]." – Lilium unleashed a massive magic circle that then erupted, unleashing a powerful explosion.
"..."
[Shadow Magic: Shadow Jump]
Before Lilium realized, GreyHunt was already behind the mage, which was then instantly fallowed up with GreyHunt throwing the mage against the floor and instantly pinning her against the ground, while at the same putting his golden blade right in front of the mage.
"Last chance." – said GreyHunt.
"Speak, or I will decapitate you."
"..."
"[BLAST-"
[Sword Art: True Slash]
GreyHunt kept his word and did not shown any mercy to his comrade.
He went straight for it, decapitating the vampire players by using one of his ultimates in order to secure the instant kill.
"..."
"What the fuck?"
However, right after killing Lilium.... Something wasn’t right.
The head of the female vampire warped and changed form, becoming something like a humanoid being, which had its entire surface of a body covered in scars, to the point it couldn’t be even tell if the being was human in the first place or what its gender was.
And it wasn’t just the head; the body of the creature also turned into scared creature.
"...Okay.... That... Wasn’t Lilium?" – said confused GreyHunt.
(A doubleganger?) – thought GreyHunt.
(I somehow defended against it much easier than I thought... Maybe it wasn’t as strong as real Lilium...)
(Still, it DID used her skills!)
"[Forge Fire Mage] is unique rarity class..."
"And this bastard was able to use it."
"..."
"This isn’t-"
"!"
GreyHunt swung his golden sword, parrying several thrown daggers and slashes of the demonic energies that came his way.
"HEY! I’M NOT A FAKE! IT’S ME!" – shouted GreyHunt as from the mist, the killer clown summoned monster alongside the demonic monstrosity knight appeared.
"I COMMAND YOU TO STAND DOWN!" – shouted GreyHunt but the creatures ignored his commands and instead attacked him, forcing GreyHunt to instantly went on the offensive with his own demons, quickly dealing with the two rouge monsters.
"..."
"Em... This isn’t good." – said one of the demons as the bodies of the fallen monster morphed into the scar covered creatures upon.
"Yea... It really isn’t." – said GreyHunt.
"I couldn’t tell if they were fakes or not by just looking at them."
"Fuck me... This dungeon really means to fuck with us."
(Restricted communication.)
(Mist that reduces your field of vision.)
(Labyrinth layout.)
(And now doubleganger that can pretend to be both players and monsters?!)
(Oh boy.... I think I finally understand what this dungeon is about.)
(It want us to murder each other.)
(Doesn’t it?)
