Chapter 111: Angry Guardian Druid

At first, she had simply been glad that the Captain’s nephew had finally awakened. But after watching his Plant Team perform so dominantly, she had become truly mesmerized. She was eager to see what he would do in the third wave, especially since six more Plant Sprouts hadn’t even shown their abilities yet.

Her gaze particularly lingered on the one sprout wearing a pure white dress, the one that looked like a delicate little girl. She was very curious about that one.

Isha stood quietly with a proud smile on her face. She was extremely satisfied with Vikram’s performance so far. Still, she remained alert, if anything went even slightly wrong in the coming waves, she was ready to step in and protect him instantly.

After some light chatting and recovery time, the three girls, Sana, Ayesha, and Kavya continued openly praising Vikram without holding back.

Vikram listened to their words and couldn’t help but feel that showing off had definitely been worth it. It was even more effective than he had imagined. After all, who wouldn’t feel pleased when three strong and beautiful girls praised him so enthusiastically?

For a moment, he thought to himself, ’If someone didn’t feel pleased when girls praised them, exists in the current generation, they must have some faults too... right?’

Soon, time had passed again. The portals in the distance stabilized once more, and zombies began pouring out.

It was exactly like the previous day’s third wave, 500 normal zombies, 50 Elite Zombies, and at the very end, a massive Hulking Zombie appeared, towering over the rest of the horde.

Soon, time had passed again. The portals in the distance stabilized once more, and zombies began pouring out in large numbers.

It was exactly like the previous day’s third wave: 500 normal zombies, 50 Elite Zombies, and at the very end, a massive Apex Hulking Zombie appeared, towering over the rest of the horde like a living mountain of rotten flesh and bone.

The moment the Hulking stepped out, it announced its arrival with a deafening roar.

This time, however, Isha did not move to engage it. She stood quietly on the wall, arms crossed, watching with calm eyes. She wanted to see the true limit of her nephew’s power.

Vikram knew the Apex Hulking stats were the same as the Leader Zombie he had faced in the Zombie Ruin before. But unlike previous times, his Guardian Druid and Warrior Druid were evolved.

Seeing the sheer number of elites mixed in the horde, Vikram signaled to his two Archer Sprouts.

"Both of you, join the fight as well."

The Guardian Druid and Warrior Druid jumped off the wall without hesitation. For them, leaping down or returning to the wall was effortless, like a simple stroll.

They landed lightly on the battlefield and looked toward the approaching zombies. Both the Guardian and Warrior Druid quickly ordered something to both Archer Sprouts with their strange language.

"Gagaga... Wawawa..."

"Wawawa... Gagagaaa..."

The people on the wall couldn’t understand a single word, but they knew they would soon witness whatever plan the sprouts had devised.

The Warrior Druid wasted no time. The moment it landed, it charged straight into the sea of 500 normal zombies.

To it, they were as soft as butter. Its blade flashed relentlessly as it carved through them at terrifying speed. In just a few minutes, the entire field of normal zombies was cleared, leaving only the 50 Elite Zombies and the massive Apex Hulking standing.

The two Archer Sprouts, knowing their orders, nocked arrows onto their thorn bows and took careful aim.

Seeing them ready, the Warrior Druid nodded and shouted loudly, "Wawaaaa!" 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝙬𝙚𝓫𝒏𝓸𝓿𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝙤𝓶

The Guardian Druid heard the signal and replied with a firm, "Gagagaaaa!"

Then, the Guardian Druid leaped forward and landed directly in front of the towering Apex Hulking.

The Hulking, with years of battle experience from countless waves, was momentarily stunned. In every previous attack on the town, humans had always saved the strongest zombie for last and fought it together. This was the first time something so small and non-human had dared to approach it alone.

The Hulking let out a deep, mocking laugh, its rotten jaw opening wide as if ridiculing the tiny creature standing before it.

The Guardian Druid, who had come with a clear battle plan, narrowed its eyes at the laughter. Its face twisted with annoyance.

"Gagaga!" "Gaaaa!"

It shouted new instructions to the Warrior Druid and the two Archer Sprouts.

Hearing the command, the Archer Sprouts immediately changed their aim. With sharp ’whoosh’ sounds, their thorn arrows flew and pierced straight through the heads of two Leaper Zombies.

Both of the Leaper Zombies closed their eyes, and their journey from Cameron Town has ended.

Without pause, both Archer Sprouts nocked new arrows and targeted the next pair of Leapers.

Meanwhile, the Warrior Druid shifted its focus to the remaining Screamers. Since Guardian Druid was not there to knock them off, he can’t directly kill them line by line.

But just like before, he has killed the berserker, it used thick vines to capture and restrain them mid-scream, then slashed their throats with precise, deadly strikes.

---

Meanwhile, the Guardian Druid was furious, truly angry for the first time since he had been summoned in this wasteland.

Ever since his appearance, his life had been peaceful. He would knock enemies down, Vikram or the Warrior Druid would finish them, and then they would loot the supplies. Even in the Zombie Ruin when facing the Leader Zombie, the battle had been tough, but that Leader had never mocked him.

This Apex Hulking, however, was laughing at him. Mocking him openly.

The Guardian Druid’s face twisted with rage.

"Wawawa! Wawawa! Wawawawaaa!" he shouted continuously at the Hulking. No one on the wall understood the words, but the tone was unmistakable, he was threatening the massive zombie with pure anger.

When even his furious scolding failed to get any reaction from the Hulking, the Guardian Druid’s anger reached its peak. He gripped his heavy wooden shield with ’both hands’ something he rarely did.

Then, with a powerful leap, he charged straight at the towering Apex Hulking.

The Hulking didn’t even bother dodging. It simply laughed louder, thinking, ’What can this tiny creature and its tiny shield possibly do to me?’

It regretted that thought instantly.

BOOM!

The moment the Guardian Druid slammed his shield into the Hulking’s chest with both hands, the massive zombie was sent flying backward like a ragdoll. It crashed heavily onto the ground, creating a small crater.

The Hulking’s eyes widened in shock. It quickly tried to push itself up and regain control of the fight.

But the Guardian Druid gave it no chance.

He leaped again and slammed the shield down once more. Then, with a furious roar —

"Wawawawaaaaaa!"

He flipped the shield and drove the sharp, pointed metal edge at the bottom straight into the Hulking’s stomach.

Although the Hulking’s thick armor prevented a clean cut, the force still caused it pain, a sensation zombies were not supposed to feel.

Even the Hulking looked stunned.

The Guardian Druid didn’t stop. He raised the shield again and slammed the sharp edge down repeatedly into the same spot on the stomach. Again. And again.

The Hulking roared in pain and rage, clawing wildly at the Guardian Druid and tearing a deep gash across its wooden stomach area.

But the Guardian Druid ignored the injury completely. He kept hammering the sharp edge of the shield into the Hulking’s midsection with relentless fury.

"CRACK... CRUNCH... SHHHHK!"

Finally, with a sickening sound, the Hulking’s body split apart, the lower half from the stomach separated completely from the upper half.

The Apex Hulking lay on the ground in two pieces, its face twisted in both shock and rage. For the first time, the hulking monster showed clear human-like expressions of disbelief.

On the wall, everyone was once again frozen in shock.

The Archer Sprouts’ precise arrows had already taken down the remaining Leaper Zombies with terrifying accuracy. James, the team’s main ranged fighter, stared with his mouth slightly open. He felt his job was suddenly in danger, especially since there were ’two’ of them while he was alone.

The rest of the team had already accepted that today they would be continuously shocked by Vikram’s Plant Team.

Isha felt a deep surge of pride swelling in her chest, especially when she saw how her nephew’s Guardian Druid had just split the Apex Hulking in two using nothing but its shield. She glanced at Imran for a split second.

Imran noticed her look and immediately felt ashamed. He understood exactly why she had glanced at him. Before today, he had never even thought of using a shield that way. To him, a shield was only for defense. Since Raghav usually finished the zombies, he had never considered offensive shield techniques.

---

Meanwhile, Sana, Kavya, and Ayesha couldn’t take their eyes off Vikram for even a second. They watched the battle with shining eyes, feeling an odd sense of pride, as if Vikram’s achievements were their own.

The moment the Guardian Druid split the Apex Hulking in half with its shield, it became the most satisfying sight for them. Their hearts swelled with excitement and admiration.

Carol, on the other hand, was busy capturing everything. She was taking videos and pictures from an unknown device, Vikram had no idea where she had pulled the camera from.

While observing, she mentally noted every detail. The Archer Sprouts had also impressed her, though compared to the overwhelming power of the Guardian and Warrior Druids, they still looked like kids in comparison.

After the Screamers were dealt with, the Guardian Druid turned its attention to the Armored Zombies, toying with them almost playfully. Meanwhile, the two Archer Sprouts shifted their focus to the Berserker Zombies. It was slightly harder for them, but they had infinite arrows, so they didn’t worry at all.

If one arrow didn’t kill it, they would fire ten.

If ten weren’t enough, they would fire a hundred.

They kept raining thorn arrows relentlessly until their targets finally collapsed.

---

The Guardian Druid stared down at the half-alive upper torso of the Hulking. Even though it was cut in two, the monster kept clawing desperately at him.

The Guardian Druid didn’t care.

"Wawawawa! Wawawa!" he shouted angrily while climbing onto the Hulking’s chest, as if mocking the giant zombie right back.

Then, he raised his shield again and began hammering the sharp edge into the Hulking’s throat with brutal force.

The Hulking could do nothing but roar helplessly as its throat was slowly severed under the repeated strikes.

"SHHHK... CRUNCH... SHHHHK!"

Finally, the head separated completely from the body. The Apex Hulking was dead.

But the Guardian Druid’s anger still hadn’t faded. He continued smashing the separated head with his shield until it turned into nothing but blood and mush.

By then, all the remaining Elite Zombies had also been eliminated. The four sprouts calmly jumped back onto the wall and returned to Vikram’s side.
