What Do You Mean I Have Nine Wives?
Chapter 54: Forging
Next Day;
Daisy left early in the morning while Tyler went out for training.
When he was training, he noticed Shibyo and Nezumi running towards him.
"Shibyo, Nezumi! You have been quite busy."
Tyler smiled while waving at them.
Shibyo stopped in front of him and arrogantly turned his head away. On the other hand, Nezumi ran to his leg and climbed up his body.
At this moment, Tyler noticed something different about Nezumi.
"Oh? You have reached the Second Rank?"
Nezumi understood his words and nodded frantically. It couldn’t speak nor could it understand complicated things.
But reaching Second Rank did improve its intelligence.
"That’s good! You need to reach Third Rank as soon as possible, then help me identify that mine, okay?"
Tyler said.
Nezumi looked at him with confusion, but then it nodded.
It didn’t understand much, but it did understand improvement and mine. After all, it had been working on that mine for quite a while.
At this moment, Shibyo suddenly showed a serious look and nudged his leg.
"What’s wrong?"
Tyler looked at him and asked.
"Nee? Nee! Nee! Nee!"
Shibyo tried to make it as less complicated as he could. After all, Tyler couldn’t understand animal language.
He was only able to make guesses.
But Shibyo was more than intelligent enough to use expressions as a gesture while speaking.
Suddenly, Tyler’s expression got serious.
"I see! If it is that dangerous, you must not go closer."
Shibyo showed a face that said, ’Do I need you to tell me where I should go?’
Tyler couldn’t help but chuckle. Shibyo was an intelligent creature. He wouldn’t just risk his life for curiosity.
If not for his malice-sensing ability, he wouldn’t have approached Tyler in the first place.
"Nee?"
Shibyo asked.
"I am practicing swordsmanship."
Tyler replied while putting Nezumi down. Then, he took out a sword and continued slashing it.
When his previous sword was destroyed, he thought of becoming a blacksmith, but without a proper teacher, he knew he would have to waste months learning everything on his own.
Fortunately, he had nothing but time.
This was quite a strange phenomenon in the cultivation world. Most of the people like him would have anything but time.
But he was the exact opposite. Since he chose not to cultivate until he solved the hidden danger, he had all the time in the world.
So, he just continued training in swordsmanship until it was lunch.
After finishing his lunch, he went to a large warehouse.
A large amount of Yellowstone ore was kept in this warehouse. It was also a heavily secured place in this city.
But nobody could stop him. More importantly, he wasn’t here just for the Yellowstone ore.
He had asked Garvin to buy other kinds of material, especially iron sand. He planned to use iron sand instead of iron ore for a reason.
Iron Sand contained titanium, which would give it more durability than iron ore. 𝕗𝕣𝐞𝐞𝘄𝐞𝚋𝚗𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹.𝚌𝕠𝚖
He had to use the charcoal as a fuel to burn the iron sand into steel since burning iron sand at a river twelve hundred degrees Celsius, oxygen and iron were separated.
He could easily get this temperature without using charcoal, but that would mean he would have to find another way to add carbon to the iron.
After all, he couldn’t use iron to make the sword. He had to use the steel since steel was more malleable, stronger, and lighter.
Making a sword wouldn’t be difficult for him, but making a sword without any knowledge of forging would be horrendous.
So, he was planning on using sword forging knowledge he had from his previous world and slowly adapting to this world.
After gathering all the materials, he immediately began the process of forging the sword.
He used the True Dragon Flames to burn the charcoal and raise the temperature to around fifteen hundred degrees.
Once that temperature was hit, the iron sand began to melt, but not completely. The impurities in the sand, however, turned into liquid and fell to the ground.
One of the butlers came and took away those impurities. They were similar to molten lava.
On the other hand, the iron sand had barely melted into semi-solid iron. Then, with this semi-solid iron, he began the process of forging.
Using the hammer, he began folding it.
This process was quite simple. He had to hammer down the iron and fold it. Then, he would add more steel to it and then melt it using the True Dragon Flame.
Once the new steel was melted on its top layer, he would start hammering it again. The process continued fifteen times until he finally got a perfect piece of steel.
While it was hot, he began shaping it into a sword. The process was quite simple, but this wouldn’t make it sharp.
During this time, he contemplated how he should forget the sword.
Whether he should forge it into a long sword or a katana.
Finally, he decided to forge a katana. To make complete this process, he had to start the quenching process where he covered the sword with clay.
He created a thick layer on the dull side and a thin layer on the blade side.
After that, he used the True Dragon Flame to heat it, then immediately placed it inside a tub of cold water.
This process was called quenching.
And it was exactly this process that the sword would gain its hardness at the edge, and also gain the curve.
Finally, he reheated it using the flame so all of the water content was evaporated from the sword.
The sword wasn’t complete yet.
He still had to sharpen the edge of the sword, make a proper handle, give it a guard, and finally design any shapes on the blade.
Unfortunately, he didn’t plan to do any of that.
Not because he didn’t like that, but he simply wanted to focus on the forging process first.
He wanted to combine the iron sand with Yellowstone ore to create a powerful metal alloy that would make the sword stronger.
But it was already nighttime. So, after he returned to the mansion, he had dinner with everyone.
Elena also joined the dinner table, which was quite a surprise.
"So, you’ve made good progress in Array?"
Tyler asked with a suppressed smile.
He didn’t even need to guess.
"How did you know?"
Elena looked stunned as she asked.
"If you hadn’t made progress, you wouldn’t have come out. Congratulations, Elena! It has only been over a week."
Tyler congratulated her immediately.
"Congratulations, Young Lady!"
Garvin and Mary immediately congratulated her.
"Don’t congratulate me so early! I have just started."
Although she said that, the smile on her face couldn’t be hidden.
After all, it had been less than two weeks since she started learning about arrays.
Within just two weeks, she not only managed to understand array’s basic but also began to develop the basic arrays.
Now, she just needed to participate in the Array Competition launched by the Star Plasma Pavilion to become the first-tier Array Master.
"Young Master, should we talk about what your plan is regarding the arrays?"
Elena turned towards him and asked.
Tyler shook his head.
"My idea is a bit difficult. So for now, just focus on mastering your basics. You can go to Star Plasma Pavilion to get the Array Master certificate."
"Tsk! Young Master, don’t underestimate me! I can already make Five Elemental Creation Array, Golden Light Array, and Turtle Defense Formation."
Elena pouted as she explained.
Tyler nodded.
"I know, but until you become a second-tier Array Master, you can’t complete my projects."
"If I tell you right now, you will just be curious and attempt to create this array, which will delay your current progress."
"Besides, I am also training in forging."
"I heard that. Young Master, do you really need to learn forging? Isn’t it a waste of time?"
Garvin asked.
Tyler chuckled and said.
"Garvin, I am already at the peak of the Mana Condensation Realm. I need to slow down my pace."
Hearing that, everyone’s eyes shrank rapidly.
"What?"
"Wait, how can I not sense your mana?"
"Yeah! Your Mana Circuit is blocking spiritual sense. Young Master, how did you do that?"
Compared to Garvin, his wife and children, Elena used her spiritual sense, but even with that, she couldn’t sense his mana level.
Tyler chuckled.
"Because I’ve completed my mana circuit and improved it. Originally, I just thought it was only enough to keep my mana from overflowing."
"But, I never thought it could block your spiritual sense."
He was surprised since Daisy hadn’t mentioned this during their conversation.
"Amazing! Young Master, it has been less than two months, right?"
Garvin couldn’t help but feel glad that he didn’t choose to leave the city.
Tyler gave him a mysterious smile and said.
"I guess I will not improve anytime soon. So, I am just going to focus on blacksmithing and swordsmanship."
