When Love Turns the Tables: The Mysterious Husband's Chase
Chapter 936: I Can’t Wait Anymore (6)
Actually, there wasn’t anything going on, but I just wanted to be alone with you.
Standing on the balcony, Sheng Yanxiao stood behind Su Weiyi, hugging her from behind, quietly watching the sky. The two wine glasses were already empty, and the young man looked calm, while Su Weiyi’s cheeks had a tinge of blush.
The clock struck midnight, and sounds of revelry came from outside, some near and some far. Su Weiyi felt her earlobe heat up again, "Happy New Year."
"Happy New Year."
"Since it’s New Year today, can I kiss you?"
Su Weiyi: "..."
The kiss finally landed. Young Master Sheng’s questions always came with a sense of dominance, as if just going through the motions.
On the second day of the New Year, Zhou Chengze and Qi Cheng brought Zhou Qi and Zhou Chengchen to the Sheng Family to play. Although they were younger, they had known each other since childhood, and Su Weiyi greeted them with a smile.
Zhou Chengchen’s eyes darted between Su Weiyi and Sheng Yanxiao. Usually lively and talkative, today she was unusually quiet.
Su Weiyi noticed her odd behavior and asked with concern, "Cheng Chen, what’s wrong?"
Zhou Chengchen gave Su Weiyi a complicated look before quickly restoring her sweet smile, "Nothing, Sister Su. Is university fun?"
Zhou Chengchen was the most playful and fun-loving among them, already visiting bars in the first year of middle school. She appeared more mature than other girls her age.
Yet, she was still young. Su Weiyi keenly sensed the fleeting complexity in her eyes—that was... disgust.
Why did Zhou Chengchen have such an expression towards her?
Or was it that she had seen wrong?
Looking again at the sweet smile on the girl’s face, Su Weiyi pinched her brow, probably feeling all those dormitory issues had made her overly sensitive. She must have seen it wrong.
After lunch, Sheng Yanxiao and Zhou Qi arranged to go upstairs to play games. Su Weiyi was naturally clueless about games and had no interest in them, but today Zhou Chengchen seemed very interested, insisting on watching.
Su Weiyi accompanied them for a while, then returned to her room to paint.
They had assignments, and an old professor had assigned them two paintings as a form of homework. Su Weiyi picked up her pen and painted for a while but lacked inspiration, so she gave up and switched to drawing her small comics.
After sketching five drafts, Su Weiyi stood up to stretch, feeling a bit stuffy, so she decided to go to the small terrace for some fresh air.
The roof of the Lake Bay Villa had some small attics and some small terraces. The Sheng family happened to have a small terrace. Ever since she was young, Su Weiyi liked it up there. She could feel the breeze and watch the sunset.
Wearing fluffy slippers, she made no sound as she walked. Just halfway upstairs, she heard voices coming from above.
"Brother Yanxiao, I’ve developed feelings for a boy. Do you think it’s okay for someone my age to date?"
Su Weiyi instinctively stopped in her tracks. It was Zhou Chengchen’s voice.
Soon, the most familiar magnetic young man’s voice answered, "Isn’t this question better asked to your dad downstairs?"
"I just want to hear your opinion."
"OK, theoretically, there’s no time limit on love."
"Really? You think so? Then do you think I should let him know I like him?"
Sheng Yanxiao didn’t reply, perhaps making a gesture. Anyway, Su Weiyi didn’t see it, but right after that, she heard Zhou Chengchen say, "Brother Yanxiao, I like you."
Su Weiyi froze entirely upon hearing this, almost stepping back and tumbling down the stairs.
