When Love Turns the Tables: The Mysterious Husband's Chase
Chapter 940: I Can’t Wait Any Longer (10)
Su Man’s eyes widened as she looked at Sheng Yanxiao, swallowing with infatuation.
Beside her, Xie Xiaoran was also a bit surprised, but compared to Su Man, she was much calmer.
Su Weiyi felt a bit embarrassed, but since Sheng Yanxiao was already here, she had no choice but to muster up her courage: "Well... I have to go eat with my roommates, so maybe you could..."
She hadn’t finished her sentence, and Sheng Yanxiao had already calmly interrupted her, his smile growing even more gentle and quite captivating: "Mind if I join you?"
Su Man immediately spoke up: "We don’t mind, we don’t mind, of course we don’t mind."
Having a handsome guy join them for a meal, why would they mind?
With Sheng Yanxiao joining them, he naturally took the lead; he chose the place to eat, ordered the food, and naturally, he paid the bill at the end.
After lunch, Sheng Yanxiao left. Along the way, Su Man was still in a daze: "Xiao Yi, your boyfriend is really too handsome. I now realize those campus heartthrobs at our school are so weak in comparison, totally outshone. By the way, I forgot to ask just now, what university does he go to? Is it the one next door?"
Su Weiyi didn’t quite know how to answer, so she stammered: "He didn’t attend university."
"Oh."
Su Man obviously misunderstood because she quickly added: "It’s fine not to attend university, in today’s society it’s all about ability, it’s not like going to university guarantees anything."
Su Weiyi wasn’t really eager to say that Sheng Yanxiao was still a high school student, because it sounded a bit... like influencing a younger kid.
But letting Su Man misunderstand like this wasn’t good either. After hesitating for two seconds, Su Weiyi spoke up: "He’ll probably be our junior this September."
Su Man: "...What?"
Xie Xiaoran remained calm as always, but Su Man grabbed Su Weiyi’s shoulders with both hands. Just as Su Weiyi thought she might find it shocking and was thinking of how to explain, Su Man spoke: "Xiao Yi, you really know how to pick them, young and promising."
Su Weiyi: "..."
"I have a feeling that when he comes to our school, he’ll definitely become a top figure at Q University."
Su Weiyi was silent; no need for a premonition, that’s certain.
It was the second day after returning to school that Su Weiyi learned from Su Man about Zhang Ziyu’s situation. It turned out her parents had rented a place for her near the school, so she moved out.
But the dorm bed was still hers. Since she didn’t come, the original four-person room became a three-person room, giving Su Weiyi and the others more space to enjoy themselves.
But it was rather frustrating. Su Weiyi had assumed that since everyone was an adult, issues wouldn’t be handled so crudely. Even if there were conflicts before, they weren’t enemies; one holiday should have been enough to cool down, but obviously, that wasn’t the case.
Though they weren’t in the same dorm, they were still classmates in the same class, and they would often see each other, but Zhang Ziyu never spoke to them again.
Su Weiyi didn’t mind, except that occasionally when their eyes met, that look of animosity was quite unpleasant.
In March, the college had an important task: students from the Art College, each class had to send three people to participate in a national competition. If they won, the fame would speak for itself, and the school would even award scholarships directly.
For most students in the Art Department, becoming famous is rare; most have to take up teaching roles or work in design jobs.
At times like these, having an award with substantial value would be extremely beneficial.
