When the Wind is Sweet: The Fairy Tale of Mr. and Mrs. Lancaster - Chapter 2: Sold Off
When she rushed home, her mother was sitting on the sofa, tears in her eyes, with a swollen red mark on her face.
"Mom, did he hit you?" The girl was startled, glanced around, and her anger welled up, "Where is he?!"
"Faye, why did you come back?" Chloe Gable was anxiously on the verge of tears, feeling her daughter was doomed. š»š³āÆāÆš¤āÆš·šÆā“šāÆš.šā“š
Before Faye Turner could react, Vincent Turner came in with three men.
"This girl is my daughter Faye Turner, take her away!" He had been drinking, his steps slightly unsteady, but his tone was full of smugness.
Faye Turner saw a pot-bellied, bald man staring at her with a malicious grin, and the man had a long scar across his face.
She hadnāt expected the nightmare to come so quickly!
"Young lady, not only are you pretty, but your name is lovely too, āFairytaleā! I like it!"
He drooled, his eyes practically glued to Faye Turner, his grin grotesque as he signaled to the people beside him.
Two strong men rushed over and directly restrained Faye Turner, "Miss Turner, please!" Their voices were gruff, and their actions were rude!
"Faye!" Her mother Chloe Gable was terrified.
"Let go!" The girl struggled angrily, her gaze stubborn, "Let go of me! Marriage freedom is recognized now, what youāre doing is illegal!"
"Law? Isnāt gambling illegal? In Vincent Turnerās eyes, thereās no law, only money!" The man reeked of alcohol, "Youāre still young and can fetch 200,000, but in the future, no one would want you even if you paid them! Take her away!"
Faye Turner was burning with rage, "Vincent Turner, you will face retribution!"
"Turner, I beg you not to do this!" Her mother Chloe Gable abandoned her usual meekness, stepping forward to plead with him, "Faye is not your daughter! You have no right to treat her this way!"
"She isnāt my daughter! But for all these years she has eaten and lived off me! Itās time to pay back! Get lost!" The man swung his arm, directly knocking his wife onto the coffee table, immediately causing her forehead to break open, blood pouring out.
"Mom!!" Faye Turner was frantic, but couldnāt break free no matter what.
The deranged Vincent Turner grabbed his wifeās hair, warning fiercely, "You damned woman, donāt ruin my good deed!" He pulled Chloe Gableās head back, causing her to cry out in unbearable pain.
"Mom!" Faye Turner was so anxious her feet were jumping, "Let her go!!"
"Faye Turner, if you dare resist today, Iāll kill her!"
Facing Vincent Turnerās ferocious gaze and seeing the fresh blood from her motherās forehead, Faye Turner forced herself to remain calm, endured the heart-wrenching pain, "Fine, Iāll go with them!"
She knew he had gone mad, was desperate, and capable of anything now.
"Mom! Take care..." Tears in her eyes, the girl was determined to save her mother from the grave danger as long as she was alive.
Faye Turner was dragged away by the thugs from the Turner Family and forced into a van.
Knowing she was just a little girl and couldnāt escape, the thug let his men loosen their grip, and he sat beside her, "What a sweet scent, young lady."
Looking at this girl with a cold bone structure and teary eyes, he felt very tender towards her, "Wife, you are truly pretty, donāt worry, Iāll treat you well." Unable to resist, he reached out to pull her into his arms.
"Let go! You scoundrel!" Faye Turner shoved him hard, "Iām already married!"
The other wasnāt shocked at all; rather, he liked her more for that spirit, "Donāt worry, no matter if you divorce, Iāll still want a pretty girl like you."
As soon as the words fell, he reached out to touch her thigh, Faye Turner screamed, but the thug pressed down on her directly...
"Let go! You scoundrel!!" Faye Turner struggled with all her might.
The more she resisted, the more excited the thug became, and his grin grew more lecherous, "Young lady, you are bound to be mine, donāt play hard to get, your father has already taken my money."
Just when Faye Turner was surrounded by despair, feeling she was doomed.
Screechā!
The piercing sound of brakes echoed through the sky, the car started to sway and decelerate, everyoneās bodies lurched forward due to inertia, bumping their heads lightly or heavily.
The car had just stabilized.
"Damn it!" The thug cursed with bared teeth.
Just then, the car door opened, several men in suits wearing sunglasses gathered beside the car, their faces stern, gesturing for them to get out.
