Who would study psychology unless they had some issues?!
Chapter 932 - 737: The Newcomer in the Legal Department
The director nodded.
"The intern should be reporting in this morning. You take care of it."
"Just like I said — just give her a brief overview of the company's recent situation, nothing more. Otherwise, the people at HR might overstep."
The director advised, "Finish the tasks I've assigned you first. Those are the things that truly allow you to gain work experience."
Red Glasses nodded without objection.
She breathed a sigh of relief. Red Glasses was actually a bit scared just now.
After all, "Sister listens to her brother-in-law's work call, but ends up sending herself to test the waters" — doesn't it sound strange no matter how you hear it?
Fortunately, now with her brother-in-law's long analysis and advice, the bit of anxiety Red Glasses felt has finally settled.
If it were an outsider or someone disliked, there's no way they'd be given so much guidance.
With this thought, Red Glasses joked, "Brother-in-law, if you feel like you can't stay at the company anymore, make sure to take me with you when you switch jobs."
It was a given, the answer was definitely yes. Red Glasses said it just to seem agreeable.
Then the director chuckled lightly, "Don't worry, not just you, I'm planning to take a bunch of people with me."
Red Glasses was taken aback.
The director explained matter-of-factly, "If I leave alone, I'd definitely have a hard time fitting in on someone else's turf. No matter how you look at it, it'll be a downgrade."
"So I'll definitely bring you — and others too."
What startled Red Glasses wasn't the small matter of "Brother-in-law not only bringing her but others too."
It was "Brother-in-law is certain he can take a group with him." For him to have such plans, he must have investigated in advance or hinted at it earlier, and even received almost-promised results.
In other words — Brother-in-law has already discussed job transitions with quite a few people in the department.
And how is it possible that I just realized this result now?
Before Red Glasses could say more, there was a sudden knock at the door.
Knock knock knock —
The director gave a look, prompting Red Glasses to immediately step forward and open the office door that she herself had locked.
A head poked in, "Master, the reception called. There's an intern downstairs without a badge, waiting for someone to pick them up."
The director nodded, "Yes, that's the case."
He then gave another sign.
Even though Red Glasses was feeling a jumble of emotions, she instinctively got into work mode.
As she pondered the question of being "the last to know her brother-in-law was planning to leave," she pressed the elevator button to go downstairs.
At this moment, even though her brother-in-law had preemptively instructed to take care of the new intern a bit, she still felt somewhat annoyed. After all, the timing of this intern's appearance was really interrupting things. She still had a lot to ask her brother-in-law.
However, when she reached reception and saw the intern, all the chaos in her mind seemed to melt away like snow in the sunlight.
She recognized immediately that this was the person she was supposed to meet.
This young lady was wearing a white shirt, layered with a sleeveless light blue sweater, with a white scarf tied in a large bow at her neck, the tails draped down to her chest.
Her lower half was dressed in a black skirt suit, very plain in color, with a matching baguette bag hanging from her shoulder; her hair was neatly tied in a high ponytail, with light makeup, and clean eyebrows and eyes.
Red Glasses anticipated that this energetic outfit would be a refreshing sight in the lazy atmosphere of the legal department.
But the focus wasn't on this girl's outfit, it was her temperament — it was genuinely like sunlight.
Especially when she turned around, Red Glasses felt instantly wrapped in warmth.
In reality, she looked better than in photos. Why don't I look like that — thought Red Glasses.
"Xia Tian, right?" Red Glasses stepped forward, "I'm from the legal department here to get you, come with me."
Xia Tian turned and bid farewell to the reception.
Seeing this, Red Glasses found it odd. The person had just arrived and was already chatting warmly with the reception, as if she'd been working there for a long time.
Xia Tian took the badge Red Glasses handed over and hung it around her neck, adjusting her ponytail and scarf while sneaking a peek at Red Glasses' badge.
"Hello, Sister Hong." Xia Tian smiled brightly.
By the time the elevator reopened on the legal department floor, the two were already chatting and laughing.
But before entering the office area, Red Glasses made a slight gesture for silence.
Xia Tian cooperatively covered her lips lightly. They watched as Red Glasses led Xia Tian through the office area to the director's office, peeking inside, "Our director should be working now. I'll take you to meet him later."
Xia Tian nodded obediently.
"No worries, he has already instructed me to guide you," Red Glasses pointed to an empty workstation next to hers, the second closest to the director's office, "Luckily we have plenty of empty spots recently. Otherwise, we wouldn't have been able to sit together. Since it's close to me, you can ask if you have any questions, much more convenient than asking someone else."
"Put your things down first, and I'll tell you about the things to note for your onboarding—"
Xia Tian obediently set down her bag and pulled over a chair to sit.
The arrival of the new girl attracted a fair amount of attention from the office area. But after Red Glasses scanned the area, those gazes quickly vanished.
