Chapter 32: Chapter 32: Falling Out

After making a round through the village, Liu Zheng headed straight toward the village committee.

Upon arriving at the village committee office, he saw Liu Baishun sitting inside.

The moment Liu Baishun spotted Liu Zheng, his face darkened instantly, resembling the mighty Changbai Mountains.

Liu Zheng, however, ignored all that and stood directly in front of Liu Baishun.

"Village Chief, I have a clinic in the village, but it’s too run-down. I want to expand and refurbish it. The state has support for rural clinics; I need you to write a certificate for me now, so I can go and seek these subsidies."

Without any dilly-dallying, Liu Zheng got straight to the point, stating his intention.

Seeing Liu Zheng standing there, begging him for a favor, Liu Baishun immediately puffed up with arrogant pride.

Just yesterday, Liu Zheng had walked in on him in a compromising situation and had kicked him very hard, causing him to lose face entirely and failing to achieve anything in the end.

He hadn’t let that humiliation go, and today here was the kid, seeking his help for a favor.

At this thought, Liu Baishun was downright ecstatic.

With newfound energy, Liu Baishun sneered, leaned back in his chair, and, with a cocky look, said, "Kid, what’s up? Come to beg me for a favor today? Hmph! Weren’t you so arrogant yesterday? Now you’re begging me for help, at my mercy. Come on, call me an ’old bastard’ again!"

Liu Baishun didn’t hide his displeasure at all.

He was virtually looking down his nose at Liu Zheng, his face full of lofty pride.

"Kid, if you want me to do you a favor, then kneel down and kowtow to me first. Kowtow until I’m satisfied, and if I forgive you and I’m in a good mood, I’ll consider doing this for you."

As he spoke, he gestured imperiously in front of him, waiting for Liu Zheng to kneel down and admit his mistake.

Watching Liu Baishun act so high and mighty before him, Liu Zheng couldn’t help but sneer. Without a second word, he sat down unceremoniously in front of Liu Baishun and even propped up one leg on the other.

He tapped his fingers on the table a few times, looking at Liu Baishun with a smile that held a hint of derision. "To be honest, it’s still not clear who should be kowtowing to whom."

Suddenly hearing what Liu Zheng said, Liu Baishun couldn’t stay calm. He sat up straight, glared at Liu Zheng with a ferocious look, "What do you mean? You little punk, you want me to kowtow to you? Do you think you deserve that?"

Liu Zheng grinned with a hint of menace in his expression.

In fact, one could say he was acting even more arrogantly than Liu Baishun.

Clearing his throat, Liu Zheng leaned forward slightly, speaking in a voice that only the two of them could hear, "Village Chief, didn’t you notice that something wasn’t working quite right after our little encounter in the woods yesterday?"

His words were few, but they sent a jolt through Liu Baishun’s body as they reached his ears.

As it turned out, he did pin his daughter-in-law, Zhao Cuihua, to the bed when he got home yesterday.

To be honest, he was very excited at the time.

But, it just didn’t work.

What followed was him swallowing a handful of pills. After pinning his daughter-in-law and pulling down his trousers, nothing worked, no matter what he said.

But how did he know about all this?

Thinking of this, Liu Baishun furrowed his brows and stared intently at Liu Zheng, suspicion written all over his face.

"Hehe! Don’t be too surprised. The reason I know is that when I was in the woods yesterday, I pressed a point on your lower back, and then you ended up like this," Liu Zheng said with a cheerful, carefree demeanor.

"If it was my handiwork, and without my treatment, I’m afraid you won’t be enjoying any intimate pleasures for the next year and a half."

After hearing Liu Zheng’s words, Liu Baishun laughed sinisterly.

"Kid, is your brain filled with water, or have you read too many martial arts novels? You’re actually using acupoint blocking to scare me. Ha! I’m perfectly fine, and even if there was a problem, I wouldn’t need your treatment."

Liu Zheng hadn’t expected the other party to show no fear at all, which was quite beyond his anticipation.

He truly hadn’t foreseen that this old man Liu Baishun was not afraid of his threats.

Could it be that he didn’t go home to be with Zhao Cuihua last night?

This left Liu Zheng feeling a bit clueless.

Just as Liu Zheng was pondering this, Liu Baishun started causing trouble again.

"Kid, I’ll have you know, you’re the one begging me. If you’re willing to kneel and kowtow for my help, maybe I’ll agree if I’m in a good mood. If not, then get the hell out of here."

Seeing Liu Baishun still being defiant, Liu Zheng grew angry, stood up, smiled coldly, and pointing at Liu Baishun’s nose, said, "Ha! You think I have no other options than this, you old bastard?"

Hearing Liu Zheng’s bluster, Liu Baishun also got mad, slapped the table, and said with a cold laugh, "You have a way, heh! I really want to see what other methods you have."

Things had already escalated to this point, so there was nothing Liu Zheng couldn’t say.

He chuckled coldly, stared into Liu Baishun’s eyes, and enunciated clearly, "You old bastard, about that shameful little secret of yours, I’m telling you..."

Just as Liu Zheng was about to spill the beans, a gentle female shout suddenly came from behind.

It was Cui Hua’s delicate voice, "Xiao Zheng, why are you arguing with my father-in-law?"

By the time she finished speaking, Zhao Cuihua had already rushed in hurriedly and grabbed Liu Zheng’s arm.

While speaking, she took her place between the two men.

She separated the two men and then signaled to Liu Zheng with her eyes insistently.

"Xiao Zheng, whatever it is, let’s talk. Come on, let’s find a place and have a proper chat."

As she spoke, Zhao Cuihua also gave Liu Zheng a meaningful look.

But at that moment, Liu Zheng just gave her a cold glance, not showing her any pleasantness.

"Is this what I wanted?" Liu Zheng pointed at Liu Baishun behind Zhao Cuihua and said, "He’s being a pain in my ass, not giving me the permit to expand the clinic. If he won’t let me be comfortable, then he won’t be comfortable either."

After hearing Liu Zheng’s words, Zhao Cuihua’s face turned pale with fright.

She was genuinely afraid that Liu Zheng would blow the whole thing wide open. If that happened, she would be too ashamed to keep living.

"You troublemaker, let’s hurry up and leave, don’t stay here, go, go, go..."

The anxious Zhao Cuihua pushed Liu Zheng, using the soft parts of her body, and managed to hustle him out of the village office.

Once they were away from the village office, Zhao Cuihua felt half-relieved.

"You little troublemaker, if you spill the beans, I truly won’t be able to live on. Hurry up, let’s get out of here."

As she spoke, she was already pulling Liu Zheng onto the street.
