Even when throwing tantrums and getting angry, he’d still pamper her just the same.

This is what you call one willing to hit, the other willing to endure.

With Matthew Saxon’s encouragement and guidance, Scarlett Yates played for half an hour and finally managed to hit a ball herself.

Matthew immediately praised her, "Scarlett, you’re so smart! You were able to hit the ball yourself so quickly."

Vincent Reed and his group had already put down their clubs and gathered to watch the fun. Though they thought this little girl was truly silly, with someone as skilled as Matthew Saxon teaching her, it took her such a long time to hit one ball. Still, they followed Matthew in praising her, "Yes, little sister-in-law is really amazing! She managed to hit the ball herself so quickly."

"When I first learned, it took me two hours to get my first ball in."

"What’s two hours? I spent half a day and only hit one ball. Compared to little sister-in-law, I’m really too dumb."

"Little sister-in-law is extraordinary. With such talent, after learning for a while, none of us will be your match."

Scarlett originally wondered if she was too stupid, learning too slowly. Hearing their praises, she half-believingly asked, "Are you all saying this honestly? Am I learning quickly?"

Vincent’s expression didn’t change at all; he lied so naturally, "Of course! Why would we trick you? Sister-in-law, you’re amazing."

Allan nodded along, also a master at lying, saying without batting an eye, "You hit the ball so quickly, we were all taken aback. We didn’t expect you to be this incredible."

With everyone praising her repeatedly, Scarlett regained her confidence, genuinely believing she was impressive. She boasted that once she learned for another two months, she’d challenge Vincent and the others to a match.

Vincent quickly laughed cheerfully and said, "When the time comes, sister-in-law should show us some mercy, don’t make us lose too badly."

During the break, someone brought over tea and snacks. Matthew Saxon and Vincent Reed chatted about some company matters, which Scarlett couldn’t really join, so she quietly sat by to eat and drink.

After a while of eating and drinking, she suddenly felt the urge to go, softly telling Matthew she needed to go, and then let a server lead her to the restroom.

Scarlett didn’t immediately return after using the restroom.

She thought that a group of men might have topics not appropriate to discuss in front of her. All night she was with Matthew Saxon, perhaps she should give some time to his friends.

Paintings were hung on the walls of the corridor, Scarlett walked extremely slowly, pretending she was visiting an art exhibition.

She figured walking slowly down this corridor would give Vincent and the others ample time to finish those topics she wasn’t supposed to hear.

Whenever she encountered a painting that interested her, Scarlett would stop and appreciate it slowly.

When she was engrossed in admiring an ancient painting of a lady, suddenly, someone pulled her shoulder, and the next moment, a hand grabbed her arm tightly, pulling her backward with great force.

Before she could cry out in surprise, she heard a voice whispering in her ear, "It’s me, Scarlett."

Taking advantage of Scarlett’s stunned moment, the person behind her dragged her into a nearby private room.

With a click, the door was shut, followed by another click, locking the door from inside.

A click of the light switch; the person who pulled her into the room turned on the lamp.

The room’s lighting was dim, casting an ambiguous hue on the man’s face before her, slowly sketching out his cold and handsome features.
