That afternoon, an important document was jointly signed by the Imperial Prime Minister Ave-Margaret, the president of the Astrology Guild, Rowena, and the current dean of the academy. Thirty selected high-tier Transcendents secretly headed to an isolated island located to the west of the academy, and the formidable Rowena was also on the list of accompanying members.

"Although I know it's futile to say this, since you're not a magician, I still need to remind you of the dangers of doing this."

Right after arriving on the island, Rowena privately met with Ethan, "The setup of a space teleportation array must always adhere to strict protocols. Each node has to be set under the supervision of an experienced Teleportation Master to ensure the safety of teleportation."

The title of Teleportation Master is granted exclusively by the Astrology Guild to certain high-tier Transcendents. Now, all the renowned Teleportation Masters in the empire have gathered on this isolated island, and when they learned of the work's nature, they all displayed expressions of disbelief.

"One of the most crucial conditions is to confirm the beacons of the two nodes... You could think of it as a special language that only Teleportation Masters can understand; we can see some extraordinary things."

Rowena continued the conversation.

And this was where Ethan's madness lay.

He was about to set up an unknown one-way node, embarking on a journey with an unknown destination.

Rowena was conflicted all the way, but ultimately decided to speak her mind because, from an academic perspective, this might very well be her last meeting with Ethan. She knew Ethan had conducted many actions incomprehensible to outsiders, but even for Ethan, this plan was arguably his most insane.

"This can't even be described as a gamble; your likelihood of safely reaching the destination is less than one in a hundred thousand. Many Teleportation Masters like you have initiated teleportation nodes before, only to find themselves stuck underground or within walls, or entirely lost within the node, never to be seen again."

One in a hundred thousand was a conservative estimate because once Ethan stepped into the one-way teleportation array, he could appear in any corner of the universe.

The concept of the "universe" was also something Rowena had learned from Ethan.

As the two spoke, the Teleportation Masters had already begun their work as commanded. They were well aware of the risks Ethan faced and the dangers hidden within teleportation nodes. Still, the "Imperial Truth" depicted Ethan as a descended True God, and thus, they could not measure this extraordinary journey by their common sense.

Among them were a few who had been in the Imperial Capital during Julius's coup, witnessing the emergence of that golden sun with their own eyes.

They believed that even amidst chaotic, turbulent spacetime, that cold golden sun would illuminate Ethan's path forward.

"Senzi, we've known each other for so long, give me some inside information."

Rowena whispered, "How sure are you?"

"Not at all."

Ethan replied honestly.

Rowena wasn't the first to warn him like this. Lindong had also emphasized the dangers when proposing the plan, knowing that even he had lost many memories during the last teleportation. Those fragmented memories made him believe he was a refugee hiding among other escapees.

"You're crazy!"

Rowena's eyes widened as she exclaimed.

This was the first time she'd heard Ethan say something like that. In the past, whenever faced with such questions, Ethan always appeared calm and composed, responding with his familiar line, "Don't worry, I have a plan."

She hoped Ethan would say that line again, so she could set up the one-way teleportation node without distractions and without thinking she might indirectly cause the death of her two best friends.

Being a Teleportation Master was a dangerous identity; they almost always danced with death.

They might accidentally kill someone using the teleportation array due to negligence or get lost in their desire to explore, eventually stepping through a door leading to the unknown.

Rowena knew that the major difference between Ethan and those madmen was that he had a reason for doing this.

That's why it was so hard for her to persuade him to abandon the idea.

"I have a strange premonition."

Ethan said, "The node feels familiar to me."

"Good luck will eventually run out."

Rowena sighed, her lips twitching as she forcefully changed the subject. She didn't want to sound like she was reciting a funeral dirge before Ethan stepped into the ritual array. Considering her past work with the cult of the Evil God, Dreams Eater, many might take this as a curse from a cult member.

Her voice sounded somewhat muffled, "Do you remember the first time we met?"

"You mean when you set up a fortune-telling stall at the market in Ximu Town?"

Ethan smiled casually, "Of course I remember. You predicted that Captain Hagrid might remain a bachelor for life."

"I admit that fortune-telling contained some personal bias."

How could the Guard Captain ask her to do a fortune-telling about marriage? The crystal ball reflects future scenes, but she was the interpreter of the prophetic results.

Rowena found that the philosophers were right: when you look at marriage with a disdainful eye, all you see are bachelors of various shapes and sizes, with no other outcome possible.
