Witch, Fireball and the Evil God of Steam
Chapter 1078 - 263: The Art of Cosmic Balance
If we overlook Ethan’s little flaw of always having "Comrade Zhuang Xiao" on his lips, Lindong became deeply interested in My Power of Thought.
After the Warlord of the tribe recruited three new members, the nature of the matter changed.
Vanguard Officer, Technical Director, Diplomat...
The prototype of a mini society sprang vividly before Lindong’s eyes.
Clearly, My Power of Thought has boundary limitations. Zhuang Xiao can knock strawberries down from a ginkgo tree using a stick, twist a fruit basket together with a few branches, and use a stick against a Demon, but she certainly can’t just slap her forehead to instantly defeat the red-eyed ones. Lindong thought this originally limited the power boundaries of the chosen ones of My Power of Thought.
But with the joining of the three Judges, she had to overturn her previous ideas. An astonishing theory emerged before Lindong’s eyes:
As long as Zhuang Xiao is given enough time to continually develop and grow her tribe, then decades later, the galaxy might welcome a super invincible macho man... oh no, macho woman!
If Zhuang Xiao ever stands on the opposite side of humanity, the danger she could pose might be hundreds of times more serious than any red-eyed Demon!
If this trend continues, if enough tribe residents believe that their leader can fly, then Zhuang Xiao might actually take off on the spot. The Technical Director has the scientific capability to make graffiti on a motorcycle work or even fly eventually. It’s hard to imagine how many incomprehensible yet powerful technologies this society might produce in the future.
Bear in mind that it took humans several hundred years to invent the car and then send the hovercar into the sky, yet Zhuang Xiao’s Technical Director achieved the same thing in just one afternoon.
Currently, the only thing likely restraining Zhuang Xiao’s growth is perhaps the pace of recruiting new tribe members.
But this is really too strange.
Surveying the development of all civilizations, a civilization often takes millennia to mature from its inception. During this, internal divergences lead to war, and various inequalities in resource distribution can cause long periods of stagnation. However, the tribe seems to have only one core guiding principle — the boss is right; the boss is the best.
Once Zhuang Xiao decides to fight the Demons, no different voices arise within the tribe to argue the pros and cons of attacking the Demons. No one slacks off for personal interest. Instead, everyone rolls up their sleeves and gives it all, charging ahead to knock the Demon leader unconscious with a stick.
They don’t even consider injuries or battle damage.
They’re like a magical race straight out of a myth, where the entire tribe advances towards a single goal. This model impressed Lindong and sharply contrasted with the families that continued scheming and power-struggling even as the rebellion knocked at their doors.
With the arrival of the red-eyed ones, family members no longer needed to fight. They had completely degenerated into reserve food for the Demons, prey to satisfy the Demons’ hunting desires.
"How did you do it?"
Lindong asked Ethan. Every time she seemed to figure something out, more new questions emerged. These questions, which defied common reason and scientific knowledge, filled this newly born civilization with charm, to the extent that Lindong couldn’t even bother with the Demon-invaded First Special District or those half-dead family bloodlines.
She even felt she might be influenced by My Power of Thought, with her thinking becoming straightforward and blunt.
Since observing Zhuang Xiao, Lindong often had a brief yet powerful summary pop into her mind.
——The tribe is more remarkable than the family.
Though somewhat hard to admit, this had become one of the main reasons for Lindong’s reluctance to monitor the status of the families.
Oh no, it feels like her exceptionally smart mind is being infected by Zhuang Xiao!
"Do what?"
Ethan held a box of popcorn chicken, and his observation of Zhuang Xiao was more like watching a popcorn movie — no thinking required, he felt excited when Zhuang Xiao defeated a Demon, and deflated when a Demon escaped, just like any other movie fan in a theater.
"Their social structure!" Lindong said, "This tribe’s structure may appear rough, but it has extremely precise operational mechanics. This isn’t something you just come up with on a whim!"
A society born from random thoughts is bound to be chaotic and turbulent, not operating in such an orderly manner as it does now. 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ𝓋𝑒𝑙.𝑐𝘰𝑚
"I don’t know either."
"Wasn’t it you who came up with it?"
"No."
"Then where did it emerge from?"
Lindong was one hundred percent certain that My Power of Thought had been passed from Ethan to Zhuang Xiao, and from then on, Zhuang Xiao became quite unusual. But now, Ethan’s bewildered expression didn’t seem feigned, especially since she knew Ethan’s character. He avoided politics like the plague and definitely wouldn’t be interested in pondering and implementing a mature societal operation system.
Yet, the way the tribe operated was full of his personal style — quirky, absurd, yet efficient.
"Then it must be the Node Space."
Lindong quickly theorized, "How does the Node Space operate, does it have a complete social form there too? For instance, the Bizarre Demon Clan?"
"Apparently, yes."
There he existed as the old manager’s embodiment. Besides those life forms that stumbled into the Node Space, the negative emotions projected from external space also formed a small society. But Ethan didn’t know much more about Node Space than Lindong, as he never really paid attention to these things.
