Wizard: Scamming a Demon God
Chapter 130 - 114: I Reject My Humanity
In the council hall, after Smith, Liu Li, and the Saint Master entered, Isaac got straight to the point. He explained the difference between the two Magic Potions to Smith and then asked him to choose.
After hearing Isaac’s words, the three of them wore different expressions. Smith was moved; he never imagined that Isaac’s sleepless nights of experimentation had all been for him!
Liu Li remained expressionless... or not entirely. She was somewhat jealous of how well Isaac treated Smith. But unless she was being metaphorically and literally flayed alive, the changes in her expression were always limited to a few pixels’ worth, completely unnoticeable even to the eyes of a Transcendent.
As for the Dragon-man Saint Master, he felt a mix of desire, envy, jealousy, and greed—a veritable pie chart of emotions. However, this was all internal. The Saint Master’s draconic face was too rigid to express any emotion; only his eyes were richly expressive.
"Young Master Isaac..." Smith took a deep breath, directly grabbing the golden-red Magic Potion. His gaze burned as he looked at Isaac. "I want the power to protect you, Young Master Isaac!"
Isaac raised an eyebrow in surprise. He had thought Smith would choose to remain human, especially since he cared so much about it. When Isaac was preparing to dismiss everyone from the territory, Smith had even tried to persuade him that it would be better to keep some people, but Isaac had rejected the idea.
"I respect your wish, but after you use the Dragon Transformation Secret Medicine, you will no longer be human. You might maintain a human appearance at first, but as the purity of the Dragon Blood in your body increases, you will grow closer and closer to becoming a Giant Dragon! So, be certain about this."
"I am certain." Smith smiled faintly. "I’m very happy that you care for me so much, Young Master Isaac. Therefore, I also wish to be of better service to you!"
After speaking, Smith tilted his head back and drank the golden-red Dragon Transformation Secret Medicine!
BOOM!
The moment he drank the Magic Potion, an immense surge of Magic Power erupted from Smith’s body!
The potent Magic Power instantly overwhelmed his consciousness!
Smith’s eyes rolled back as his entire body slowly floated into the air, enveloped in the immense Magic Power. The violent energy was frantically remolding his body. Isaac facepalmed and sighed.
’So impatient? Didn’t I say it needed to be taken in conjunction with a ritual? Why so impulsive?’
Exasperated as he was, Isaac still waved his hand, tossing out several materials and quickly setting up the ritual. Fortunately, to give the potion better market potential, he had deliberately simplified the ritual to a level that even an Ordinary person could perform. For someone like Isaac, it was something he could accomplish with a mere wave of his hand.
"And you all better remember this: next time you get your hands on something, don’t just shove it in your mouth. This goes especially for you, Saint Master and Shushu. You two are the worst offenders!" After setting up the ritual, Isaac shot a glance at Shushu and the Saint Master.
Shushu wasn’t very bright and was often driven by its rodent instincts, habitually gnawing on anything it found. The Saint Master, on the other hand, was influenced by his White Whale talent. He possessed the power of Infinite growth, allowing him to grow stronger just by eating. As a result, he would usually just swallow whatever he got his hands on in one gulp, making him no different from a certain gluttonous pig from the classics, save for the things he ate.
Normally, since the Saint Master possessed the power of Infinite growth—or rather, infinite consumption—this wouldn’t be such a hassle. However, this ability only guaranteed that he wouldn’t get sick from what he ate and could absorb it well; it didn’t allow him to utilize its potential to the fullest.
Furthermore, if it were the power of a Dimensional Demon God, it could even be life-threatening. Therefore, Isaac had to get the Saint Master into the habit of being more careful. Otherwise, if he ever acquired the power of a Dimensional Demon God and just swallowed it whole, it would be all over.
Hearing Isaac’s words, the Saint Master and Shushu lowered their heads and nodded silently.
Isaac had no idea if they had actually taken his words to heart, so he could only glance at Liu Li, signaling for her to supervise them. He spent most of his time immersed in his experiments and had no time to manage them. This task could only fall to Liu Li.
Liu Li nodded, then joined Isaac in watching the continuously transforming Smith.
Although the ritual was a step late, the Dragon Transformation Secret Medicine, designed for safety, had a gentle effect. The process was proceeding smoothly and hadn’t been negatively affected.
After all, this stuff was originally designed for human use, so safety was the most basic requirement.
Soon, under the combined influence of the ritual and the Magic Potion, the violent Magic Power within Smith’s body began to concentrate in his heart. This was the final stage: the transformation of the heart itself.
As mentioned before, the ultimate success for any Wizard’s experiment is to simplify all the rituals, surgeries, and other procedures into a single spell. The final result would be casting one spell to replace a complex experiment and obtain the desired outcome directly.
This was the ultimate aspiration of all Wizards concerning their magical experiments!
Isaac was not yet capable of such a feat. Whether it was the Heart Transplantation Surgery he excelled at or the Divinity Network modification surgeries he performed almost daily, this step was incredibly difficult—so difficult that many experiments never even reached this stage!
He naturally couldn’t achieve this for the Dragon Blood transformation of the heart either, but he could take a shortcut and have the Magic Potion complete this step directly. That much, he could do.
To be honest, not considering the number of Magic Potions he had mastered, this achievement alone could almost qualify him as a Master of Magic Potions!
Unfortunately, the title of Master of Magic Potions wasn’t that cheap. A single Magic Potion wasn’t enough to earn the title. Besides, he had only created this potion by cheating with his Golden Finger. Without his Golden Finger, he might not be able to replicate it.
’But that’s not a big deal. All my new techniques have this problem. They just need to be optimized, and everything will be fine... probably?’
Never mind that. Isaac focused his attention on the fluctuations of Magic Power around Smith. Although he was confident in his own techniques, the person who took the potion was Smith, the man who had watched him grow up. It was impossible for him not to take this seriously.
Fortunately, his Golden Finger was as reliable as ever. When it said one hundred percent, it meant one hundred percent!
In this regard, it wasn’t like his experiments or transaction rituals, where his own mistakes or interference from the other party could lower the success rate, turning it from a probability of success into a margin for error.
THUMP... THUMP-THUMP!
Soon, a powerful heartbeat echoed from Smith’s body. The energy emanating from him was no longer Battle Qi—an Upper Position energy derived from Life Energy—but had transformed into Magic Power.
Furthermore, a faint Dragon Might began to emanate from Smith, causing everyone’s breath to hitch as if a heavy stone had been placed on their chests. Among them, the Saint Master and Shushu were the most affected. One collapsed weakly to his knees, while the other’s Divinity snack fell from its grasp as it limply draped itself over Isaac’s shoulder.
One was suppressed by a superior bloodline; the other was just plain weak.
