Wizard: Starting With Synthesized Gems
Chapter 378: Alicia’s Gift
In the evening, Locke and Claudia returned to their residence in the White Elephant Tower. Wizard Anthony had arranged a very luxurious suite for Locke in the White Elephant Tower. The area was very large and could be considered quite good conditions even in the White Elephant Tower.
Meanwhile, in the corridor outside the suite, a formal wizard from the Plutarch family ordered four First-rank wizard apprentices to carry three large wooden crates to the front of Locke's suite room.
That formal wizard bowed slightly to Locke, "Mr. Augustine, this is a gift from Miss Alicia to you as payment for your potion studies discussions with her."
"Please look, this is the list."
"If there are no problems, I'll leave."
Locke raised an eyebrow and glanced at the list. He found that inside these three large crates were all potion materials. Some were relatively common, some were relatively rare, but all were properly paired and matched, very convenient for potion masters to use them for practice.
Additionally, inside these three large wooden crates were five gifted rare potion formulas: [Vaporization Potion], [Youth Potion], and [Fury of Flames Potion], as well as two abyssal potions—Advanced Abyssal Worm Potion and Tanar'ri Hand Potion.
At the bottom of the list were some words Alicia wrote to him—'Previously on the airship, I heard Wizard Augustine say that you needed more First Circle potion formulas and some potion materials to practice with, so I organized some potion materials I couldn't use up and sent them to you.'
'As a transaction, you need to continue discussing potion studies with me using the letter paper, okay?'
Locke looked at this letter and frowned slightly. He said to Claudia, "This is a gift sent by a friend of mine. Accept it first."
Vaporization Potion, Youth Potion, and Fury of Flames Potion were all very rare formulas. They didn't seem to be common goods but rather private collection potion formulas from somewhere.
According to the brief description on the list, a wizard who took Vaporization Potion could vaporize their body for 10 seconds in a short time. When used in combat or for research and study, it could have unexpected effects.
As for Youth Potion, after taking it, it could allow a wizard to maintain eternal youth. Although it couldn't increase lifespan or change the essence of a wizard's soul gradually aging, at least from outward appearance, they would remain young.
And Fury of Flames Potion was a potion similar to explosives. It utilized five different magical flames to activate within one vial of potion. Once thrown out and detonated, it would produce power equivalent to the flame spell of an Evocation School fire magic sub-direction First Circle wizard.
The power was quite good.
As for Abyssal Worm Potion and Tanar'ri Hand Potion, both were relatively basic abyssal potions, also still First Circle level. They were just much simpler than Mammon's Powder. But Locke learning these two potions could further enhance his accumulation in abyssal potion studies.
Originally, abyssal potion formulas were relatively scarce, and materials were also relatively difficult to gather.
Locke had Claudia move these three large crates into his room.
Five minutes later, Claudia looked at the potion materials inside the opened three large wooden crates and couldn't help but exclaim, "Lord Augustine, the person who sent you these materials treats you really well. These three crates of materials together are almost worth one hundred fifty thousand magic stones, right? Although each item isn't particularly precious, there are so many of them."
"And they were sent by a Plutarch family wizard. Your friend's identity is..."
Locke glanced at her. Immediately, this blood elf wizard elegantly bowed to Locke, "Sorry, Lord Augustine. I spoke too much."
Locke frowned and took out the half-remaining letter paper from his astral ring. He wrote on it, 'Alicia, I received your items, but I'm afraid I can't accept them. I don't deserve unearned rewards. You sent me so many materials. Does your family know?'
'I want to send them back to you.'
Soon, the writing on the letter paper disappeared. This meant the writing on this letter paper had already been transmitted to the letter paper in the other party's hand. This was based on the Evocation School's principle of long-distance magical information transmission.
Soon, writing appeared on his letter paper, 'Please don't send them back to me. These really are all potion materials I can't use up. Having these materials gather dust in my home is truly too wasteful. In your hands, they can instead bring out their value.'
'If you insist on following the wizard principle of equivalent exchange, that's fine too. Dear Locke, this precisely proves you're a true wizard. Then you can send back half of the potions you brew to me. This can count as me commissioning you to brew potions.'
Seeing this scene, Locke thought for a moment. This wasn't bad for him either. Getting so many rare formulas and potion materials for free to practice with, only needing to hand over half of the successfully prepared ones to fulfill the task. This was also acceptable for him.
Locke could only write on the letter paper, 'Alright, I'll make the items and deliver them to you as soon as possible within three months.'
A line of text quickly appeared on the letter paper, 'No need to rush. Dear Locke, regarding the First Circle level Archaeologist inheritance you mentioned on the airship, even though I used my rights as the Plutarch family heir, I surprisingly couldn't purchase an Archaeologist inheritance for a while. But rest assured, I already have information on this side. If I obtain it, perhaps you'll be able to purchase First Circle stage Archaeologist inheritance from me.'
'The Land of Six Towers has quite a few Archaeologist wizards who hide their identities and come here to study and excavate ancient creature fossils and ancient plant ores hidden in ore veins. So the probability of me finding one should be somewhat higher than yours.'
Locke put away the letter paper, showing a strange expression, "How strange. Although my relationship with Alicia is good, she doesn't need to help me this much, right? But since it doesn't violate the principle of equivalent exchange and is indeed a beneficial transaction for me, I have no reason to refuse."
...
Inside Dragon Tower No. 2, in the Plutarch family living area at 25km height, Alicia said to the liquefaction stage old wizard beside her, "Old steward, this way I can maintain regular contact with Locke and often find him to discuss potion studies, right?"
The Plutarch family's old steward carefully observed Alicia's expression. After confirming that Alicia really just seemed to want to find a peer in the field of potion studies, he secretly breathed a sigh of relief and said, "Miss Alicia is the future family head. Whatever you want to do is up to you. So far, everything conforms to our family's procedures. Anyway, those siblings of yours keeping little lovers outside waste countless resources every day. The resources you gifted to your friend are far less than one-tenth of what they waste."
"Moreover, your magical power improvement speed has been astonishing recently. It seems to also be related to that wizard. We're all happy to see this scene. This precisely shows that you're suitable to become an Evocation School bloodline refiner, not a Life School potion master."
"As for you wanting to chat with an ordinary wizard in your spare time, that's really the most normal thing."
