Wizard: Starting With Synthesized Gems
Chapter 393: Mage Plane
Locke and Alicia turned to look. Below the hillside where they stood, five humans wearing leather armor with long hair were battling an unknown creature.
The clothing on these five humans was distinctly different from the traditional attire of wizards in the wizard world.
Some held bows and arrows, some held daggers, some held two-handed greatswords, or sword and shield. Most eye-catching was a woman holding a wooden staff as tall as herself. ππΏπππ ππππ¨πππ.ππ π
These people were besieging a strange gray-skinned creature covered in black stripes wearing linen shorts. That strange person was about three meters tall with a tail like a crocodile, and on its back spine was an organ resembling a shark fin.
Its two gray arms were very powerful, attacking the five otherworldly people like iron.
The person who had just spoken was the woman holding a staff as tall as herself. Taking advantage of her teammates blocking the magic beast, she moved around the edge of the battlefield and chanted, "Fire spirits of the Serarith world, at my summons, turn this evil demon before me into charcoal."
"Fireball!"
Immediately, a fireball condensed from the top of this woman's staff. A large amount of fire element particles were gathering at the top of her staff.
The woman was so tired that sweat covered her forehead. Then, a fireball shot toward that strange person like a cannon.
'Bang.'
That magic beast strange person was enveloped by that fireball. Flames and smoke instantly covered him.
The woman seemed pleasantly surprised. "Is he dead? Hit by my fireball, he must be dead, right?"
The other four humans also looked up to observe.
The next moment, in the flames, the tail of that so-called demon monster suddenly pierced fiercely into the ground.
Immediately after, the green grass on the ground began rapidly yellowing and withering. The surrounding trees also seemed to decay and become brittle, collapsing with a rumble.
Birds, beasts, and insects died one after another.
A large amount of life energy was forcibly extracted and transformed into power, reinjected into that demon's body. Then the black demon patterns all over the demon's body began releasing purple demon patterns.
He roared, making a terrible roaring sound. Then one hand struck the swordsman holding a two-handed greatsword in front of him.
'Crack~'
His right hand struck the two-handed greatsword like metal hitting stone. The next moment, that two-handed greatsword shattered, and that swordsman was also sent flying.
At the same time, the demon punched the shield of the warrior beside him holding a shield, and that shield was actually shattered by one punch.
In the five-person team, the short man holding a dagger suddenly rushed forward with his dagger, overcoming his fear, stabbing his dagger toward the demon's neck. The next moment, the dagger was like hitting hard stone and directly shattered on the spot.
That assassin was also sent flying by a punch, rolling several times on the ground and spitting blood.
The woman holding the staff turned pale. "How is this possible? That was [Earth Desecration] that only high-level demons can do. This isn't a C-grade magic beast. This is a B-grade magic beast."
She instinctively raised her wooden staff, wanting to cast some magic to salvage the situation. But the next moment, that demon had already rushed before her, punching her staff in her hands.
'Crack~'
The staff suddenly broke.
That woman's face showed despair.
Mages of the Serarith world had to use staffs to summon elemental spirits and cast magic through elemental spirits. Without a staff, it was like a swordsman without a sword in hand. She would no longer be able to cast any slightly advanced magic.
Was it over?
Would their Steel-grade adventure squad all perish here today?
That demon raised its right hand, about to punch the stunned female mage into a meat patty.
But the next moment, a huge golden sand blade swept over, instantly splitting this three-meter-tall black demon in two.
The black demon's furious pupils were stunned for a moment. The next moment, his body split in half and fell down. Black blood spurted out.
First Circle plant magic [Scorching Gold Sand Flow]!
That black demon fell to the ground. After his death, his body rapidly turned into stone, and a stream of black energy emerged from his corpse.
This black energy escaped into the earth, destination unknown.
The five adventurers didn't expect things to develop this way. The demon who had just killed them unresistably was actually killed in an instant.
They all looked toward Locke and Alicia on the hillside not far away.
The female mage Helen swallowed. Because she had suddenly been relieved of enormous pressure and relaxed, she squatted on the ground. At the same time, she muttered, "So... so amazing. How can there be such an amazing mage in our city?"
"What level mage is he? Mage King level or Mage Emperor level? We're so lucky to encounter such a high-level mage in the wilderness."
In the distance, on the hillside, Locke frowned. He glanced at the ground. The originally lush green, fragrant hillside had become a yellow expanse of deathly stillness because of that magic beast just now, with dead things everywhere.
Locke frowned slightly, not liking to see such a scene. So he snapped his fingers. Immediately, driven by his magical power, all the nearby plants and animals were washed anew by a flood of life energy.
The yellowed grassland, at a speed visible to the naked eye, regained vibrant green.
The originally dead land, in just the blink of an eye, became full of vitality again.
Locke felt the world power's malice imposed on him lighten again, almost completely gone.
"I see. My actions can slightly change the world's attitude toward me?" Locke pondered.
Locke said to Alicia, "That so-called magic beast's body just now was extremely hard, like a body composed of compressed stone. In our world, it would approximately correspond to a second-rate wizard apprentice level magical creature."
"That magic beast has obvious traces of... black magic modification."
Alicia immediately nodded. "I saw that too."
"Moreover, that modification technique looks somewhat familiar to me. It's not the modification technique of our Land of Six Towers. But this is another world. How can there be traces of our world's modification techniques?"
Locke said, "That female mage's wooden staff is also very interesting. It can actually concentrate surrounding elemental energy on a wooden staff. But her spell casting method is even more interesting. It seems not to rely on spell models, but on some kind of language. That language can summon this world's elemental power, making this elemental power spontaneously form specific spell models to attack enemies."
"The strength of that spell just now was approximately at the third-rate wizard apprentice level, about 0.2 Circle."
"However, I don't know whether her casting method means she herself is casting, or whether this world's elemental particles are automatically casting."
"Most crucially, this world's language uses our world's common tongue." Locke said, "So your grandfather should have already modified this world."
"It's just unknown what he did here, where his soul is now located, and why when he's unconscious, his soul enters this world..."
Locke glanced at Alicia. "I'm now starting to think your belief that your grandfather's illness has something fishy about it indeed makes a lot of sense."
Alicia fell into deep thought. "I don't have any more crystal bees. Now, what should we do?"
Locke pointed at the five adventurers ahead. "Let's first make contact with this world's natives. Those five people ahead all have supernatural power reactions in their bodies. Four are imperceptible, just some insignificant bloodline modification techniques. But that female mage seems able to use magical power yet isn't a wizard, which makes me very curious."
"She's approximately at the third-rate wizard apprentice level. It's just that she hasn't constructed spell models, hasn't constructed a sea of consciousness. Her casting method seems to rely entirely on chanting, then leaving the work of constructing spell models entirely to... the elemental particles themselves."
Interest flashed through Locke's eyes. "This is truly too interesting."
