World-saving Plan: The Only Savior
Chapter 1866 - 9: SK-9300 Crisis
The Digger SK-9300, Li Zixuan and others successfully boarded.
Skillfully closing the hatch, the five-member team immediately formed a V-shaped formation, ready for defense.
It was very quiet around, and the previously faint noise heard in the communication channel seemed to have disappeared, as if even a gentle breath could be transmitted far.
"The oxygen content around is decreasing, leaking at a steady rate. There might be a breach in the spaceship."
Yin Rao looked at the detection equipment on his wristwatch and said.
The others exchanged glances, immediately having a suspicion that the issue with the SK-9300 might be related to this breach.
"It seems there has been an abnormal intrusion on the 9300. Everyone be careful, prioritize locating and neutralizing the threat to rescue any remaining survivors."
The group cautiously advanced. The lighting system in the ship was still operational for now, though some areas had lost power. Yet, with the Mad Bee Team’s advanced equipment, this bit of darkness was not a problem for them.
"Ahead is the dormitory area. The previous distress signal seemed to have come from there, stay alert everyone!"
The group advanced nearly a hundred meters without encountering any attacks, it looked like the danger was not in the stern area.
The 9300 was much larger than the Mad Bee, as a digger ship, it needed not only enough energy systems for long-term operations but also large chambers to store minerals.
The entire ship was over two kilometers long, almost the size of a small battleship.
"Meng Meimei, do you still have a Spirit Binding Scroll? I need a Spirit Detection Technique scroll."
Li Zixuan stopped in his tracks, for safety’s sake, he decided to bolster his side with some beneficial status effects first.
"There are still five Spirit Detection Technique scrolls left, we can each have one. Captain, want to use them now?"
"Just give me one, we don’t know what situation we’ll encounter next. Let’s conserve resources where we can. I’ll use the scroll to pave the way ahead, you all follow and cover me, watch my hand signals."
After speaking, he took the scroll from Meng Meimei, gently tearing it apart, a surge of spiritual power flowed out from the scroll, attaching to his eyes.
Watching Li Zixuan’s eyes emitting a silver-white light, Gibson looked envious, muttering:
"Wow, this Spirit Detection Technique looks so cool when used, I want to try it too..."
Li Zixuan glanced back at him.
"Then next time you can use it, you can take the lead."
"Haha, no thanks, Captain it’s best you use it, I won’t interfere..."
"..."
Not long after saying this, Li Zixuan suddenly stopped, causing the others to tense up immediately.
"What’s wrong, Captain? Did you find something?"
Li Zixuan shook his head and gazed toward the corridor’s end, where a streak of blood stained the wall.
"Seems like... there is a bit of blood..."
Bugison quickly pulled up his far-sighted device, seeing the streak on the wall, then looked at Li Zixuan in disbelief.
"Whoa, Captain, what kind of eyes do you have, able to see that from so far away?"
Li Zixuan rolled his eyes, while Yin Rao softly said on the side:
"Thomas, when you increase your enhancement level to the same Third-level as the Captain, you should be able to see it too."
"Psh, I know, just that I don’t have enough Merit for now. But if we get back alive from this mission, I should get some Merit, then I can apply for the Third-level Genetic Potion..."
Before he finished, his expression suddenly froze.
Because the scene before him was too shocking, leaving him stunned.
"What... exactly happened here..."
Meng Meimei instinctively covered her mouth.
Before them, hundreds of corpses lay scattered on the floor. Judging by their attire, they should be the crew of the 9300. Each body was torn beyond recognition, blood soaking the entire corridor beyond the corner. The bloodstain they saw earlier was just the tip of the iceberg.
"Damn... what did this? All these people... they’re all..."
Bugison’s face turned a bit pale, and the others didn’t fare much better.
Though they had undergone rigorous training to get here, ultimately they were still rookies who had never been on a real battlefield. No matter how many simulations they had gone through in the Virtual Illusion, it was still just an exercise, fake. But what they were witnessing was real, and the pressure was self-evident.
Fortunately, years of professional training proved effective, their mental resilience and adaptability were strong. Though they were briefly stunned upon seeing this scene, they quickly recovered.
"Stay focused, be alert!"
The group moved forward again, the floor was filled with thick blood and body fragments, making it almost impossible to step.
Suddenly, Li Zixuan abruptly stopped, his gaze fixed on a point ahead. The others held their breaths. In their eyes, it was only a cold, metallic wall, but they knew the Captain had discovered something.
"Watch out! Detected an anomaly a hundred meters ahead! It’s a Desert Worm! Damn it! There are Desert Worms inside this spaceship!!"
