Chapter 203 ā The Boss of Bosses
London, Harrigan Family. "What do you think?" "The invitation to the meeting is a bit hard to interpret." Conrad Harrigan looked at what had been placed on the table where he was having dinner with his family, tilted his head slightly, and asked his wife, "Honey, how should we interpret something like this?" "A warning. But the idiots from SAMCRO donāt know who attacked them, so theyāre firing blindly, hoping to provoke reactions that will lead them to those responsible for the Glass family massacre." Maeve, Conradās wife, looked at the severed heads on the table and, while rolling a cigarette, leaned in to examine the tattoos on them. "Should we take this as a threat?" Kevin, the son closest to the Harrigan family, started to panic. "No, we shouldnāt." Harry Da Souza, the kind of man who solved problems, shook his head and said, "Believe me, if we raise any suspicion, weāll be wiped out of London overnight." "They attacked SAMCRO. Who are they? No, that doesnāt matterāwhoever they are, theyāve just started a war." Harry was well aware of who SAMCRO wasāafter all, that organization had taken control of the cocaine trade in the country. As the sole distributor of cocaine in this part of Europe, the fact that they were attacked meant their enemies were prepared for retaliationāsomething no one else had endured. "We need to offer something to SAMCRO. If we help them before Dan arrives, the benefits will be substantial." Harry knew Dante was a businessman, so as long as they helped him catch those who had attacked him, he wouldnāt act like a tyrant. "No doubt about it. It was the Mexicans," Conrad said firmly. "They deal in fentanyl. They havenāt looked at cocaine since SAMCRO massacred their leaders," Maeve disagreed. Kevin looked at the heads on the table and said, "Well, theyāre anything but Mexican. Just look at their pale faces and blue eyes." "Stop sounding so racist, Kevin." Though Harry agreed with Kevin, he said it just to mess with him. "Iām just stating the obvious," Kevin sighed, feeling the weight of social pressure. "What the hell is that crap?" "No, never mind." "Damn it, youād better not say anything stupid when that bastardās standing in front of us, or Iāll cut your balls off myself." Harry watched the family argument intensify and, without saying another word, left to do his job. "What should we do, boss?" "Weāll gather information that could lead us to whoever helped those mercenaries attack the Glass family. Otherwise, weāll all be dead by the time the man who controls all of Europe arrives." London Airport ā Early Morning A private plane landed at the airport where a security team was already waiting. "Zz... Zones cleared. All angles are covered in case of a sniper attack." "Have any of the families I spared made a statement?" Dante asked. He was dressed in a custom-made black suit reinforced with the best armor technology available. Cocodrilo, also dressed in black, answered calmly, "All of them have spoken up. They agreed to attend your meeting. And if anyone doesnāt show, weāll handle it." "Weāre going to reduce the cocaine supply in Europe, increase the price, and hunt down the mercenaries who killed my father-in-law. Just as we set out to do from the beginning, we are making a difference by monopolizing the market." Dante spoke as if he didnāt care about the convoy waiting for him outside the plane. Cocodrilo and the others listened carefully; from time to time, someone would pull out a notebook to take notes. Then Dante walked toward the exit, following an agent who towered over him. Everyoneās concern about coming to London stemmed from the possibility of an attack on him, hence the tight security. However, the necessary precautions had been taken to prevent any ambush. Within minutes, the convoy left the airport, followed closely by two helicopters speeding into the sky. ... Dante was in one of the helicopters, his cold gaze sweeping over the city that would soon be in flames if he didnāt find those responsible for the massacre of the Glass family. Half an hour later, they arrived at Eddieās estate, where he was waiting. "Welcome, boss," Eddie said, clearly nervous about what might happen. His brother Freddy, clean from drugs for a long time, greeted Dante, who paused to look at him for a few seconds before saying, "Iām surprised youāre still alive." "Me? Well, Iām a real businessman now. I handle the legal fronts. Havenāt screwed up since last time, if thatās what youāre wondering." Freddyās voice was hoarse, as if he had been yelling recently. Dante ignored him, walked straight to the mansion, and headed to the room where high-ranking members were waiting. They waited in silence for several tense minutes until Dante finally spoke: "Eddie, I told you to keep the families under control. You failed. So now Iāll show you how itās doneāstarting with killing Stanley Johnston." "What?!" Freddy reacted excitedly, but before he could say more, Eddie intervened. "We canāt just kill people who were once our enemies. The others will realize weāre shooting blindly." "The truth is, we know who attacked the Glass family. Now weāre just looking for the rats who helped them," Dante said in his usual cold tone. Eddie replied sincerely, "Well then, tell meāwho do I need to kill?" "How about we start with your brother? Word is, before the Glass family was attacked, Freddy leaked some information about themāspecifically about their travel plans." Danteās voice grew even colder. Eddie stared at his brother in disbelief and muttered, "You again..." "Brother, I didnāt say anything!" Freddy stood up, panicking. "Shut up!" Dante looked Eddie up and down and said, "I assume youāll take care of it. Thereās only one way to make sure your brother never talks about family business again." "Yes..." Eddie looked at the knife Dante had handed him. Without hesitation, he stood up, walked over to his brother, and whispered, "You shouldnāt have said anything." "Eddie, I didnāt. I swear." With tears in his eyes, Eddie raised the knife and ordered two of his men, "Hold his head. Iām taking his tongue." "No!" "Brother, no!" Dante left the room without another word. What Eddie did next would determine whether his family remained useful. Besides Freddy, Eddie still had his mother, his sisterāwho now had an adorable childāand numerous associates. Would someone like him risk everything for his brother? The truth was, no. Eddie understood that perfectly. Arghhhhh! Cocodrilo approached Dante, glancing at the dozens of heavily armed soldiers outside the window, and asked, "Want me to take care of it?" "No, let it be. Whether that idiot talked or not, word would have reached the Glass family anyway... What matters now is that Eddie will owe us even more for not killing his brother," Dante said, thinking that a tongue wasnāt enough but choosing to save his fury for another day. As for whether or not Freddy would be killed, Dante would decide once he personally executed the ones who leaked the information and actively collaborated with the group of mercenaries hired to wipe out the Glass family.
